Exactly... Hersheys tastes like sour milk vomit. And over here in the UK/EU it has to be labelled only as "chocolate flavour" because it doesn't actually contain enough cocoa to be considered a chocolate bar over here. But I suppose if you're used to it it's different...

I'm American and even when I was a little kid I didn't like Hersheys, with one exception and that's Mr. Goodbar. Don't know if you have them in the UK, but they are Hershey's chocolate and peanuts. For some reason, they taste good to me so when she was talking about Hershey's and nuts, I got it.

Rhubarb is technically a vegetable, but it grows as a plant with big leaves. It’s the stalks that are used and cut up into chunks. Once cooked (boiled), it’s put into puddings, pies and sweets. The problem is you ve got used to so much additives that your taste buds are buggered.

Milk is the first ingredient in British Cadbury’s and it has no preservatives... Sugar is the first ingredient in US Cadbury’s bought by Hershey. Brits/Europeans have been spoilt with the quality of our chocolate so have a different sensibility. Hershey’s isn't real chocolate so has to be labelled ‘chocolate flavour’ in Europe! 😂 it’s candy, not chocolate as they use more of the cheaper ingredients so cannot match the creaminess, flavour or texture.

Cadburys chocolate contains E442 ammonium phosphatide and E476 polyglycerol polyricinoleate which act as emulsifiers. They also act as preservatives. Your statement of 'it has no preservatives' is not true.

This is what I said Hersheys add a souring agent to the milk they use that makes it taste like vomit. They wouldn't know good chocolate if it bit them on the bum. To keep mentioning comparisons to hersheys is a disgrace. Americans taste buds have been completely ruined by there chocolate.

"Maybe it's real?" Perhaps Anna has nailed it, our flavourings are much more natural and you're just not used to them. We also like slightly sharp/sour fruits - Rhubarb, Raspberries, Blackcurrants & Redcurrants are all that bit sharp & need the sweetness to level them out. Hence Rhubarb and custard.

Milka is not a British brand. It originated in Switzerland, but has been produced chiefly in Germany for the past century or more. It is now owned by the same multi-national which owns Cadbury (outside the US), Oreo, Philadelphia Cheese, and Toblerone.

Mars isn't 'British' either, so Maltesers and Galaxy don't really count either. Mars Inc are an American company...they sell Galaxy chocolate in the US branded as Dove. Nestle isn't either for that matter.

It’s interesting to see what fruits America favours over the UK. I love rhubarb and raspberry and raspberry features in quite a few of our sweets/chocolate whereas the US has a lot of grape flavoured products like drinks which we don’t have

Never thought the UK would achieve 'overkill' for americans when it came to chocolate/sweet treats 😂 ....hazelnut was just the only available milka bar in the shop at the time when I went. I will look out for others to send. They are German though (I think made with swiss cream), not British, as stated in my letter but easy mistake to make being unfamiliar to it and receiving it from the UK 😅 always love your videos and seeing your faces squirm or be delighted in the taste testing ones haha 😆 keep up the great work and entertaining videos guys! ❤

I love hazelnut, you lot have got no taste ! I love Cadbury's hazelnut best although it used to be much better before Cadbury's was bought out & that's because the last of the Cadbury family hated it being bought out by an aggressive, US company & wouldn't give them the original Cadbury's recipe, good for her ! 😅

@yazza5857 It wasn't just me, I sent maybe 1 or 2 things they tried. Other people sent the rest. Also, you obviously have never been part of an online 'community'. His subscribers are nice people who are willing to send things to see his reaction. They can't buy UK chocolate in America, they have Cadbury's there but the Cadbury's over there is made by Hersheys so doesn't taste the same as ours. Open your ears and heart more to his message at the end; "spread the love, spread kindness", it would be a better world with more kind people in it and that's what his discord and twitch streams are all about.

The crazy thing is, Cadbury's chocolate bars for many years came in pretty much only 3 varieties: Dairy Milk, Fruit & nut, Wholenut. That was it. All these crazy comination bars with popping candy, jelly beans, honeycomb, etc only came about when Cadbury's was bought up by Kraft, an American company. They seemed to be emulating the USA chocolate bars by adding all this other junk to the mix. So it's funny that you two Americans find there is too much going on in them.

On that Geordie bar the phrase you were trying to say is pronounced "Why-Eye" meaning "of course" or "Yes" in the local Geordie language. Those Newcastle made bars are definitely more of a 'novelty' idea. Galaxy isn't a Luxury brand. It's about the same level as Cadbury for price. It, like Nestle and Mars is just another brand of chocolate where you find the one you prefer. Galaxy is my preference.

i have watched a few 'Americans try 'X' stuff' videos lately, and the common theme in all of them is just how destroyed your and their taste buds are because you can't tell what certain things are meant to taste like due to your over processed foodstuffs lol, it's both funny to see in terms of the actual reaction, but also sad because you're missing out on so much stuff as a result of what you consider 'normal' which unfortunately is far from it.

Yeah because your flavour detecting organ is in your nose, it's called the Olfactory bulb. Your tongue only distinguishes sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami and savoury, not actual flavours.

Hi JT & Anna. Just a quick point here. Maltesers aren't pronounced as two seperate words. So it's not Malt Tesers. It is pronounced as a single flowing word. So phonetically it would be more like mal-teasers said quickly with no break. The emphasis isn't on the Malt part of it.

Its a pudding ,we make in U.k. that's sweet usually in taste ... and nice with custard .... the rhubarb can be sour ... so the sugar added ,should give you both ends of the scale ... Try it once at least... even if you ain't sure.

The wrappers on British chocolate are resealable!!! Don’t cut the top, the tabs are takky and stick back together on the bigger bars

7:34 Milka is not a British chocolate, however the brand was brought over here to UK by Kraft Foods in the late 90's. Milka is actually originally from Switzerland

From other comments Mondelez now owns this brand which is US owned and produces it to local requirements but as close to American methods. For example before Mondelez took over Cadbury the taste was fantastic, yet has gone downhill since their ownership. Very much like the link between Lays and Walkers, same product different name.

The slogan on the Geordie bar where it say whey aye is a common saying in Newcastle hence why it’s on the bar. It’s also pronounced why eye, literally speak it as if you would say why eye and you’ve nailed it 😂 (no hate just a lesson) 😂
