Quickstep will take Jakobsen to the Tour next year. With a better lead out he has excellent chances of getting some stage wins

Maybe he's saving it to take a stage or two and then duck right back under. Regardless, going from that to this doesn't help his case at all.

Strong sprint from Fabio. Once he regained his confidence he has progressed rapidly. I wanted to do a play on the word "quickly" but my brain isn't awake yet... I really like how you analyze sprints. I go back and rewatch and I can actually pick out all the players and their positions and follow the action etc thanks!

I think it was already a bad sign for fdj and Démare that there where doubts if he would go to the Vuelta. If he was feeling full of confidence there would be no doubts. But something is up with him clearly, he doesn't dare to dive in to reasonable big gaps (for sprinters anyway).

Tbh I don’t think that’s anything to do with the DQS train , he just got detached from his train for whatever reason , Senechal did a great pull

Dont know why people think/thought Demare is a top 3 or 5 sprinter in the world. He always has been inconsistent in big races and never won multiple stages in 1 grand tour except giro 2020. I think many people are/were prisoners of the moment when he really only did beat sagan 4 times there

Back then I thought those wins meant little when he had near complete control of every sprint stage thanks to his team and his biggest competition was a Classics rider in the decline of his career and an out of form (likely still affected by catching covid multiple times) Gaviria. Nizollo might be a top ten sprinter, but he's way in the back of that 10. Ewan backed out early and was still having lead out issues anyway. If there was ever hype for him, I don't know where it came from.

As always, excellent analyses and commentary! But, plz work on your voice and pitch; it can be flat and close to boring at times. The first minut made me almost want to leave the video. You are great! But a commentary's voice is his most important tool and yours need a bit of sharpening ;) ..Nothing but love for ya' - Just sayin'
