I once read a theory that said that the Richat actually used to be the city of Atlantis, because it has about the same dimensions as how Plato described it, and if you use the maps of Herodotus and Eratosthenes, the location as Plato described it makes sense as well. According to those two maps, there used to be a sea where the Sahara is now. But then again, earth pimple makes sense too. It's just less fun.

Maybe in the past the sea partly covered the structure. If some ancient civilization were around at the time they built upon it . It would have been a fantastic place to build a city. Natural moats for defence and access to the high seas for trade. Maybe one unfortunate day a tsunami obliterated it. The rest is legend. So yes why not both.

Ignore the people who are actually telling you how long you can go without sleep. what you're looking for is a complex formula that takes into account your bodyweight, age, video volume and presenter. As we all know, it is easier to listen to the silky tones of Hank or Caitlyn than, say, the screaming ruckus of Reid. Reid definitely lowers your life expectancy in great amounts.

This does match Plato's description of Atlantis to the tee. I used Google Earth Pro and if you switch to the timeline 11/12/2014 and on a bank slope just to the east of the center of the circle I found an Octagon, several rectangles, and Triangle shapes that resemble a town center. Most of the time they are covered by sand. Thumbs up for the realization!

@Titanic 683 Atlantis may be build under the foundation of this geological structure, creating an island in the middle of africa is not only a waste of time and resources it's just not make sense. If they(the hypothetical people) build that structure, It's more likely(if atlantis existed), they build the city on top of that structure. Considering some hundreds of million years ago at the age of dinosaur, most of north africa was submerged and home to many iconic dinosaur like Spinosaur. It would be a spectacular place.

It's the lost City of Atlantis. The same size, the same shape, the same description of the mountain in the north. The ancient map of Herodotus also confirms it.
@laural3738
@laural3738 5 жыл бұрын
yes the resemblance with the Plato description is also outstanding but there is no archeological evidence that it was once inhabited by humans like it was a city. And most of all, the great problem with this hypothesis is that Plato clearly tells Atlantis was an island and it's geologically impossible that the Richat structure was an island some thousands of years ago. It's proved that many human ancient myths actually do have a link with something that happened for real maybe it's also the case of Atlantis in some way, but it's not possible Atlantis is the Richat structure. So premise that the research of Atlantis is an archaeological objective that can have a meaning and a scientific value as Schliemann's research of Troy actually had, I think it's too easy to claim to have found it having no real proof but a resemblance with an ancient script. It looks more like the usual way to make money by attracting internet traffic and selling books just fascinating people with fascinating stories that can excite and stimulate the mind of people but at the end they add nothing useful to the real knowledge of our past that progress using the scientific method of archaeology.

Here's a question. Why does weather affect mood?
@Hraefncin
@Hraefncin 10 жыл бұрын
I would love an answer to this question. Without any formal scientific or psychological training, I've wondered if changes in air pressure can affect one's eardrums and so it also affects things like moods and even balance. While it might be 'in my head' to a great extent (pla-/no-cebo effect), I do notice that I get grumpy before storms, when the air-pressure builds up, and my voice sounds weird in my own ears and even my balance is a little off, but once a storm actually breaks (and the air pressure plummets), I feel this huge sense of relief. I've even felt these things when I didn't know that a storm was coming, and only after it broke did I realize how stressed out I was and how anxious. Anyways, love to hear from someone who actually knows what they're talking about...

Plato was pretty damn specific. The location and measurements fit the only thing that doesn't fit is it's high and dry but geothermal activity easily explain this. Go to Google earth an look at it from even higher and you can see the left behind path of the deluge current from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic or vice versa. Factor in all the shells and whale bones and other sea life in the desert of Mauritania plus also elephants are still there, another point that Plato mentioned.

My statement may seem absurd to some, but I think this really is the location of Atlantis. Using Plato's description of Atlantis in his book "Critias" - Critias states that Atlantis sank underwater after a massive earthquake and flood 9,000 years prior to him. Doubt it's an exact figure, but - This seems to reference the Biblical "Great Flood" (melting of the ice glaciers) that occured about 12,000 years ago. Northern Africa must have looked very different about 12,500 thousands of years ago or before the glaciers melted. Given the many dried out channels found all around the Eye of Sahara region, chances are the rivers flowed through the city. and maybe the city even had access to the Atlantic ocean. This would explain all the sand. The thousands of miles stretches of sand can only be created by the flow of ocean water. However, after the flood - Northern Africa sank below the ocean. When it came back up from the ocean, all that was left was an empty, desolate desert with a weird circle that scientists today claim is a collapsed dome created by volcanic activity which I just don't buy and which they're not even really sure about. I've never in my life seen a circle in nature that perfectly matches Plato's description of Atlantis. I've never even seen a so called "collapsed dome" in nature. Not one picture that I can find online so I say BS. I'm sticking to my story this is probably Atlantis. I can't prove it, but the evidence is stacked. The location, surrounding geography, the shape, approximate size. And their story of a flood some 12,000 years ago matches scientific consensus that a massive flood occurred around then following the glacial meltdown. It's either Atlantis or the landing site for a 40km wide flying saucer. There's no other possible explanation. Okay maybe there is, but I like to fantasize.

What I love is all these scientists tell us exactly what it is yet none of them have ever set foot there or studied it. Lol they are all full of s#%*. They are all just talking out of their asses. Perfect circles, ESPECIALLY concentric ones, do not happen in nature other than in liquids. The other thing this host didn’t talk about is that the TOPS of the rings are all perfectly flat and level, as those the tops were cut off and perfectly leveled flat. It is very odd since all of the other hills outside of the richat are uneven and rounded.

By depositing ink into the dermis, the lower layers of skin. Deep enough that it can't be eroded away; not so deep that it doesn't show through the epidermis, nor so deep that it gets absorbed into the fatty layers underneath, in which case the colour would bleed. I, too, would like to see a Dose on this, though!

I have a question, how come certain people can't wear watches without them running out within a week? I did not believe this until my mom showed it to me (she got a new watch and it ran out within a week). When I googled around I found that this is not rare and a lot of people have this happen, I just can't find a good explanation that does not disagree with something another site said; one site said something about psychic vampires O_O... so I can't find a *credible* source.
@frollard
@frollard 10 жыл бұрын
There are no credible sources. There are no blinded studies which can repeat the phenomenon.
@ellock1998
@ellock1998 10 жыл бұрын
frollard Why? It is known to happen and plenty of people say this happens, why is there no source on it? All you would have to do is find people that this happens with and give them a watch and time how long it takes for the watch to run out of battery.

ellock1998 I remember my grandfather telling me that watches wear out faster with women because they have more hormones in their bodies throughout their lifetime. He said "A good watch will last a man ten years, but a woman only 7 or 8." for this reason. He was a naval captain during the cold war and knew quite a bit about various scientific topics, but still idk.... You can take this belief or leave it. So maybe your mom has A LOT of hormones going through her? I know that when I was a teenager the batteries in my watches never lasted more than a few months at the most, but now that I'm an adult I have a cheap watch I bought over a year ago and it still works great.....
@ellock1998
@ellock1998 10 жыл бұрын
Kate Maybe, but I actually have anxiety (meaning I have way to much stress hormone in my body) and I can wear watches just fine. So maybe my over stress hormones compensate for my lack of calm ones or something like that... IDK, sounds reasonable enough to me anyway. Thanks!
