Welcome to Croatia! We crossed into Dalmatia from Montenegro where we drove up the coast through Dubrovnik on to the peninsula of Pelješac. Passing through the ancient walled city of Ston, we continued north to beautiful Orebić where we chose to live like kings and bought an entire campsite!

Julia WAS GREAT when participated in the Great British Baking Show. Talked about how she met her husband while on vacation while on the show. Demonstrated GREAT Baking abilities and was funny at times.. And now she is hosting a travel blog. Looking forward to watching them all. Slice of live point of view. Keep being active Julia. Thanks for sharing. What an exclusive experience. In 2008 we stayed at just that campsite. Apart from the fact that it was more lively and much cheaper then, everything else about croation beach tourism seems to have changed. Love all your videos! 😍

My wife and I had plans booked to go to Croatia about year and half ago and then covid changed all that. We live in the US. Is it open now for US citizens who are vaccinated. You guys rock. Amazing vistas outside of Dubrovnik. When you find you're soulmate as you have. The vlogs you do sparkle and shine. Great Job!!!

Thank you so much, really appreciate it!!! ❤️ We believe it is open to vaccinated US travellers atm but double check the US embassy site as the rules everywhere seem to change one week to the next 😩

Croatia is actually opened all the time for all vaccinated visitors if they do have official certificate that is required at the border controls and at the airports. Also certificate with confirmed negative test is accepted although you should check on details on how old tests are OK. Our country is also very safe since we have a relatively small numbers for several months compared to all of the rest of the Mediterranean that is red and dark red in covid-19 Europe map that is updated every week. You're all welcome!

in 1985 we drove from Zadar to Split only to return for left belongings...never regretted that adventure.

I loved Croatia! I wasn't there long, but I stayed in Split for a week and got to see Dubrovnik briefly,, Krka National Park, and Plitvice Lakes National Park! So much natural beauty there

Just a little way East of Ston is a village, fairly high up in the hills. Sadly it was utterly depopulated in the war, and a friend of mine, a teacher, lost her life defending some of the children. She has a memorial there. I remember her being full of charm and life, and her laughter at my schoolboy French. It was very touching, travelling with you through the area.

The young lady has an undertone of a Slavic language to her British English. It would be interesting to know the time frame of her transition from her birth culture to her present day circumstances. Some folks transition quickly (particularly the young) but, quite often, older emigres retain traces of their origin in their speech all of their lives.
