hi noah! when i was 15 and in a bad place struggling with ocd and depression i saw one of your videos where you said ‘you are not your thoughts, you are the person that listens to them’. this seemingly simple phrase immediately struck a chord with me and it is something i have lived by ever since. i am now 21 and doing SO much better and a lot of it is thanks to that one piece of advice. thank you!! i wish you all the best.

Like others, I have watched your videos for years and would return to them, recommend them and put a few on a playlist for others (on another account). I was sad to see you stop posting for a long time as I knew your wisdom could help others. The growth of your channel is a testament to that. Maybe you could ask for questions for a Q&A sometime. If you do, then I would ask what your favourite hobby/hobbies are and why. Plus recommendations for therapeutic purposes. Food for thought. Thank you for all you do, you make the world a better place.

Hello Noah - I discovered your wonderful videos in 2019 when I was going through extremely challenging difficulties, and your support became a lifeline. You softened my pain and depression through that time. About a year ago I began to really process everything and heal. You've been a big part of restoring my wellness. I know you are helping people come back to living in joy and I'm so very grateful.❤ Jen

You are a big part of why I started my mediation path I am very grateful for your videos years ago. When I was in highschool I looked up how to not be depressed and was blessed by your video. I then followed the meditation rabbit hole down and it is something I have done for over 6 years at this point and will be something I do for the rest of my life . I am so glad to have meditation to aid me and it is you who showed me I am not my thoughts .now I have so many different meditation techniques and practices from various teachers it has naturally become a part of my life style❤

@@NoahElkrief whenever I think if the future I feel anxious and afraid. I can't help but think of all the awful things that could or will happen....not only to me in my life (ex: potential health issues, death if loved ones, eventually being old and alone) but the world in general (ex: the worsening state of the environment, all the injustices and violence).

That was a beautiful summary of your videos Noah, your gentleness and authenticity really transpire here :). I have a small off-topic question related to your work : I know that you have written a book before. When do you decide that something is more suited for writing VS speaking ? I don't know why but it's something that bothers me a lot when I want to share something : I don't know if I should speak or write about it. I usually just choose one and it's not a big deal, but there's something in my mind that wants a clear separation between the 2 and I'm not sure why.

My perfectionism and controlling tends to come out more when I write which can be useful for some subjects. But, there is more flow, joy, and ease when I speak. :)

De Mello - "If I could show you how to get rid of your conflicts, your anxieties, your tensions, your pressures, your emptiness, your loneliness, your despair, your depression, your heartache, what are you left with? Sheer, undiluted happiness, that's what you have. The Chinese put it beautifully. They say, 'when the eye is unobstructed, the result is sight. When the ear is unobstructed, the result is hearing. When the mouth is unobstructed, the result is taste. When the mind is unobstructed, the result is truth. And when the heart is unobstructed, the result is joy, and love.' You've got it all, but it's obstructed. Drop it."

Noah! We missed you! Hey, do you think you'll make a how to deal with boredom video at some point? It would be cool to be able to live in a flow state in every moment of life, but some situations are so monotonous . Waiting in a queue, waiting on a train, it's incredible how restless the mind and body can get being forced to wait. Instead of living, a lot of the time we are enduring, lol.

I'm trying to breakup with someone I have been with for 17 years. I love him but I'm not in love with him. It has been a emotionally abusive relationship with cheating. He is very good at his narcissistic behavior. I suffer with anxiety and depression. I'm overly empathetic to a fault of my own needs and feeling. Any advice would be appreciated. I love your videos.

I'm sorry to hear that Amy. It feels like it would be supportive for you to do work around boundaries. I don't have any specific videos about it, but maybe videos about how to stop feeling weak and it's not your job to make others happy might help. Good luck!
