First story, guess it's time to translate "The Art of War", no? Second story, at the end, Foreigner's song, "I want to know what love is" popped into my head.

Story 1 The Xenos were like Xeno 1 "They were just playing. Can you imagine if this had been for real?" Xeno 2 "All know is we would not be here to talk about."

The first missed a golden opportunity to use the speech from Dorn at the Siege of Terra My orders are simple and you will heed them well. The enemy is coming, kill them all.

Story #1. The Alien's lucked out by getting humans on their side before finding out. Story #2. Yay, meet cute, alien birb & human. Or (Bird species name) and alien primate.

1st story... Trading is warfare of a different sort. To be honest most human interaction is conflicts (competing with other suitors, teams vs teams, etc)

the courtship behaviors one was painfully adorable and made my heart swell with warm fuzzy sensations

Now, for the second story, my question is, if a human is attracted to an alien, would they be considered a furry?

Rule 1. Never underestimate your enemies. Rule 2 . Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake . 😅

That second story was so cute.

Even amateur humans know that an opponent on the defense can and will counter-attack when they can. Silly xenos. Well, sounds like they got better, at least. I also like the touch of some products being amazing to one side but regular to the other. And a silly but well-meaning bird. Nice stories this go around.

The last one was adorable

Mistake 1. They gave the humans the defensive advantage. Mistake 2. They gave the humans time to prepare. Mistake 3. They underestimated their opponents. Mistake 4. They issued a challenge to a highly competitive species. Mistake 5. They challenged a species that lives in a perpetual state of war (war, commerce, politics, love, survival. All a form of battle.).

Based on his "Never underestimate your enemy." statement, he probably saw that the xenos were actually a lot better than what they showed. With the thoroughness of the rout, however, they probably fell well short of the human military. Either way, their "enemies" were probably scared out of their minds at the possibility that we could have just as easily come as real enemies. 😬😱

If the Xenos hate the concept of our regular engineers, imagine what would have happened if the came across the Combat Engineers? "Just a couple of more pounds of C4 and we can flip their hover tanks like coins! Let's play 'Heads or Tails'. Or even, Bankshot the lead tank off of that hill and then into the center of the formation. Fire in the hole!"" heh heh. No, I have no idea that such things like this in occurred in RL. (Grins maniacally and looking up into the heavens while whistling a tune. Well at least the calling of heads or tails, that is.)

aww.. the second story was sort of wholesome is the term is it not `? and the first story... yes , never presume anything about a foe , or it will use that agents you , and this doess not only go for negative things after alll.. if you presume a foe to be a monster and teach your population that , you just made it simpler for them to sow dissent among your kin just by acting empathic now and then..

Funny, Aliens WOULD probably think that hunting Pirates is something that is to be taken lightly. But not for us. America even created it´s navy for the exclusive purpose of hunting Pirates. If you´d let humans do as they please, they´d be hunting Pirates with Capital Ships, doesn´t matter the Era.
