@@ryanhobbs3362 we don't do that here in the states. Overhaul merely consists of finding hotspots and extinguishing them, not removing the debris left over after the process of firefighting. Usually the city would take over the building and do what they please with it, but, from my experience.. it usually takes a long time until anything even becomes of it or done of it where I am from. Plenty of old burned buildings with shit still inside aha.

@@caomhnoir386 Depends on the area. Alot of major city departments actually help with debris removal as part of overhaul.

@@robert5344 I mean, alot of departments here in the states don't nomex up until they are on scene, then they doff their helmets, slip the nomex on, put on their mask and helmet back up. When it comes to fighting fire well, both sides of the ocean do it differently. I'm not a fan of the European way myself, not by a long shot, but if it works for them, then it works for them.

I passed the physical assessment day a few weeks ago. I’m onto stage 4 maths and English online tests and interview. I attend training drill nights on Tuesday evening. Is there more training videos for basic training course or more videos your gonna post on this channel. Love the videos mate!

Hi FIREY 999, thanks so much for your comment. I also really enjoy seeing other services' approach to firefighting, particularly around Fire Appliance design and equipment. The change from being in charge to wearing BA was just to play to the strengths of the crew. We had 2 crew commanders on the truck, one older and a more experienced officer, one younger and fitter. Just made sense on the day. The BA sets not being on the cab is likely to become more common, given the new Contaminants Agenda and 'Clean Cab Principle' on long-term health effects in firefighters. @@oscarosullivan4513 generally there's a locker on the appliance dedicated to it. in Queensland, the lefthand side locker, closest to the cab is for the Driver and Captain, the rest are currently stored in the crew seats.

Hi Night Light ASMR, it can be quite shocking to see how extensive the damage from even a small fire can be. A lot of the damage is caused by hot smoke and fire gasses, in addition to the actual flames. That's one reason why working smoke alarms are so important; early detection of a fire gets you out of a building and the Fire Service on our way before huge quantities of damaging smoke are produced. Keeping internal doors closed helps limit smoke damage in the event of a fire as well. Part of our vetting process for videos considers the impact of showing post-fire footage, which is why such clips are not that common. Following a fire, someone somewhere is having a truly terrible day. We try our best to publicise the Fire Service, and fire safety advice, whilst remaining respectful to those involved. 👍👍

The electrician discovered that the one in the loving room wasn't linking up to the other ones and had to replace it. As wherevibam every home has to mow have linked smoke and heat detectors.

Each station will have a call sign A11 ( Alpha One One) each pump at that station will be have that as the first part of the call sign basically in the UK A pump without a 13.5m ladder is a 1 with a ladder is a 3 a rescue vehicle is a 5 a water carrier is a 7 So a pump with a ladder wil be A113 a rescue vehicle would be A115 and so on 👍

ThinBlueLine, depending on where you are from, BA in this case Breathing Apparatus. It's the tank/bottle worn on a firefighters back that holds compressed air for breathing in smokey conditions. I'm from the USA and we call them SCBA, SELF CONTAINED BREATHING Apparatus. Hope this helps, stay.🚒🚒🚒

@@FF-KMZ9898 not really lol. I'm a volunteer firefighter in the US so I assumed BA was just them shortening SCBA down, I was more talking about the purpose of the entry control point portion. I assume it's like here in that there's someone to take accountability tags or something, but I could be wrong

@@hosedragger-2045 You’re right, BA Entry control is for accountability to the fire crews operating with BA. It also has numerous other information to be put on it such as equipment in operation and how many bars of air in their cylinders and their “time of whistle” (the time for them to exit the fire compartment).

Hi fire20p2, great question. We just happened to have 2 crew commanders on the appliance at this particular job, and it made more sense for the more experienced OIC to take command of 40 Wellesbourne, and the younger, less experienced OIC to go running around in Breathing Apparatus. As we are an On Call station / crew, the individual members who are available changes constantly so we occasionally have to be flexible as the incident dictates. You're quite right that there was already an OIC at the incident (from 35 Stratford); if Wellesbourne had been first in attendance, we probably wouldn't have swapped the OIC. Hope that answers your question, there was a reason why!

Hi Suzzy Sheep (love the name!), thank you for sharing. I'm glad you caught the charred extension cable before it became a more serious issue. The smoke from a domestic fire is really hot, and filled with fire by-products, so it can be incredibly damaging even some distance from the fire compartment itself. I would add that in this incident, the owner had done everything right (including keeping internal doors closed which helped limit the damage). They were just unlucky as the fire was believed to be started by strong sunlight being focused through a make-up / shaving mirror.

How only one room was gutted by the fire and only smoke damage to the rest of rhe upstairs rooms. The fire was practically out by the time the second appliance had arrived.
