Phil. I was at Churchfields 63-68 . I remember them building the Threepenny Bit and building the Four in Hand. Bryan Robson run the sunday football team there. I played against them quite a few times. As you walked along towards 'The Pound' on the right on the corner of Vale St was the school tuck shop. They use to say of the Ring o' Bells, it's where they sell beer by the pound. The Red Lion pub on the opposite side of All Saints Way was at one time run by ex-Albion player Steve Lynex who was a former pupil at Churchfields.

@@MrGabb61 Many thanks for the info - I did forget to mention that now disappeared shop on the corner of Vale Street, I went in there many a time. I also remember a major bon fire incident at the Red Lion

@@MrGabb61 I was also at Churchfields from 63-68, I was in Britten. I thought it was a brilliant school at the time.

As an old pupil of Churchfield - second intake 1956, I cannot get my bearings, so different, my Gran lived just along from the "Ring O Bells". My Dad used to say you could get a pint by the pound. I have lived in Australia now for 57yrs, been back three times, last time in 1991 when I took photo's of the school - lucky me.

Sorry to say that west brom is no longer the same, they got rid of schools because us English weren't having as many kids, now look at us, to many fighting for places and they are crap schools, I weep at what has became of this green and pleasant land
