I never watch cricket these days , but watch these Benson and Hedges 1980's battles all the time. Great commentary makes it a better atmosphere.

The throw by Haynes (i think it actually was Marshall but both commentators called Haynes at the time) near the end. As good a throw as it gets from so far in the outfield on the MCG, and under immense pressure. Garner's take was the icing. Not enough is said about that. That piece of cricket and dujon at the end drew it for WI.

@4.30 the bowler slipped on the crease and still delivered the ball. Accidentally bowled a slow ball and got a wicket bcoz of a great catch.

@@TheBundleofkent I don’t know about that. He had a number of opportunities before and after that rebel tour but never took enough wickets to cement his spot.

Still did well to come back. Besides Alderman (being the stand-out), he was the only other rebel player to make a decent come back into the team. Even chosen as a back-up in the '95 tour of WI when Autralia finally beat them.

Did Richards really had was to put Gabriel out of the field and game? I've seen other misfields etc. Ive always heard about Vivian Richards putting Richard Gabriel out of the game ,and today is the very first time Im seeing the tape of the game.

Gabriel had pointed out that he had a hamstring at the time. Viv let him know know he could leave the game and he bought in his fellow trini Logie to replace him. Go and verify the facts before making false c lairs. You must be a trini to post such crap.
