We were cruising up north along the stunning west Michigan shoreline in the middle of our second season of 2023 Summer/Fall adventures. The 2nd season escapade could be broken down into three epic parts. Part one: we hauled ourselves from the depths of Florida all the way to the majestic shores of Lake Michigan, which, believe it or not, took a solid 40 days of road tripping. Then came part two: a grand tour through Michigan, skirting the shores of both Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. We figured we'd soak up Michigan for a couple of months, taking in all the scenic beauty and small-town charm. And during the 3rd part of our adventure saga, we hit the open roads of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota for a solid two months.
My original plan was to hit up the Silver Lake Dunes ORV Park for just a quick day trip while we were chilling in Muskegon. Well, Jeff and his beloved Bronco had other ideas. One more day of dune-buggying? Sure, why not! I mean, personally, I'm all about those sand dunes vistas, mesmerizing like the dance of water and fire. So, we decided to extend our stay to a cool three days at a campground near Silver Lake State Park, just a breezy 35 miles away from Muskegon.
