I think Bethesda made a big mistake by not allowing us to play as Ghouls or Super Mutants as well as humans and maybe even synths. The perks, cons and pros of being able to play as these different races/creatures would be amazing to play with on this game I reckon. I'd easy play as a Super mutant even if it gave me a lets say -5 intelligence. The amount of content they could include if we could play as Ghouls or mutants would be insane and certainly worth it. Maybe one day we'll get to play as something better than a human. Just think it'd be a interesting change especially for a just online game.

I wonder if there is any connection between that boy, whose mother got killed, and the roaming Super Mutant trader. I like him and his "Moo-moo".

Nice vid, very thorough. I don't mind 'West' Tek being in 'West' Virginia. I could imagine they had facilities all over the country, possibly even being based out of 'West' Virginia. I do have a problem with the retconing of the lore here. West Tek did developed the precursor to the FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) called PVP (Pan-Immunity Virion Project) but it wasn't until the military took over research on the PVP at the west coast facility which only tested on animals until it was later moved altogether to the Mariposa military base where the FEV was developed. Even then it wasn't until well after the war that destroyed everything and the base had been long abandoned by the military group that would eventually become the Brotherhood of Steel before human experiments leading to the creation of the super mutants would take place at the hands of the Master (Dr. Richard Grey). So not only did the super mutants of west Virginia become a thing long before the "first" super mutants from the west coast, but also developed identically to their west coast cousins without anyone guiding the experiments that created them and did so at a facility that could not possibly have had access to the FEV. I'm sure I sound like a totally nerdy lore-nazi, and most people probably don't give a shit. But as a huge fan of the Fallout universe and it's lore it bothers me how nonsensical and just outright wrong so much crap in Fallout 76 is. I love the Mothman and Scorched Beast. Things like that are cool new additions to the Fallout universe and make perfect sense for the West Virginia setting. Why couldn't they continue along that line and create a new kind of super mutant perhaps based of the PV or something else entirely new? I hate that they feel the need to bastardize and destroy existing lore so they can put familiar Fallout factions into the game even though it makes no sense.

The most important thing about West-Tec is that you can go there and get a mutation. If you don’t like the one you got, you can go through the disinfecting sprays, and go back into the tanks and have another try. Once you’ve got the mutation you want, equip the starched genes perk, and you can keep the mutation. If you have the double perk card, (starched genes), you can use rad-x and rad-away, and you won’t lose your mutation, but using Rad-x will suppress the positive effects of the mutation for an hour or so. Ok, so, for example, I have the marsupial mutation active on my character, which allows me to jump awesomely high. It is a great mutation because I can take my time and fight creatures like the deathclaw or the Yao guai without being hurt by them, because I can just jump up on a rock or roof where they can’t reach me. But if I take a Rad-X, my jumping ability is suppressed and returned to normal for the stated period of time. Also, because I have the starched genes perk card doubled, it always suppresses any negative mutation effects.

About the button pressing and mistyping, the sheer amount of pain and loss of muscle control such a change in biology would cause would explain your difficulty with typing. Another problem is how impactful the tiniest change to our limbs are to our ability to function optimally. It's very likely that FEV causes a rapid size increase in musculature, blood vessels and the like, which would make it VERY difficult to control your own body, not to mention how utterly and insanely painful it'd be - it would also heavily compromise your cognitive functions.

The thing that bothers me is that in the loading screens in the game, it mentions that snallygasters and iirc grafton monsters are products of FEV research, I think if they are having people drinking FEV in their water, they could have taken the opportunity to think up something new since the FEV is getting into their systems in a different way. Like it has long been established that super mutants aren't the only possibility for what FEV can turn creatures into. On the other hand, a simple name drop could help explain the retcon a little better. Have a note somewhere that's like "yeah, we got just got in tanks of that experimental green goo from that base out in California. We can start doing further research here in the varied climates of west virginia" or something. Just a simple nod to the established lore referencing Mariposa. An other possibility, they could have just made character models on this engine for the Swamp Folk from Point Lookout and call them Hill Folk and then they could have had them replace super mutanta in this game.

I didn't notice you mention that the vats of green sludge can be "harvested" (like water sources), and that would give you toxic goo, which is a crafting component, and so far the only source of it that I have found.

For those arguing Super Mutants don't show up til the Master was created your a liitle mistaken, it's long been established Richard Grey and Harrold went to Mariposa to find the source of the Super Mutants attacking their carravan. So prior to the Unity Super Mutants did exist it's just their range was limited (hence the Lost Hills Brotherhood hadn't run into them on surface visits) and they were disorganized, which is exactly how their protrayed in FO3, 4 and 76.

Tbh I’ve only played bits and pieces of fallout, and fallout 76 is my first fallout I’m playing a lot. I’ve had so much fun it it, no matter how much people bad talked it. I’m still having fun with the game, and I’m only getting more interested in it now.

When you search a med box or chem box you have to hit "SEARCH" in order to find additional medical supplies from it. You appear to be playing on PS4, it's the triangle button. You missed terminal from the previous CO from the Army Unit stationed at huntersville. The summary of it is that he gets concerned for the citizens, investigates, then he gets booted from his position and replaced by a yes man.

Everyone in Fallout 76 is sooooo fucking beyond dead in Fallout 4. That’s one thing that feels wild. 76 is 20+ years after the war but 4 starts during the bombs dropping. Both player characters make it, but 76 occupants leave the vault and live out life in the wastes. Meanwhile, the sole survivor is on ice in a freezer.

When sneaking around, you can hear super mutants saying things like "No green stuff here".

I know why those cages are in the F.E.V. In regards to general Super Mutant lore, they are known to kidnap humans and bring them back to a F.E.V source. The reason for this is so that the victim would mutate into another Super Mutant.

The room with the cages above the F.E.V. is a good nod back to Fallout 1 and The Master's dunking room. And this entire video actually made me sad. I know shit was fucked in the Fallout universe before the war but, got'damp!!

When people say Fallout 76 sucks because of the lore/storyline they don’t take the time to appreciate how much stories there are. There are probably hundreds of stories in Fallout 76. That’s why I love it!

This is not word for word, but according to Fallout 76, some Government/military people infested some water with FEV in it and gave it to the people. I say this is a load of merde because as we all know you cannot contract FEV by drinking it, you must be exposed to it by being dumped in an FEV vat, like all the other Fallout games depict.

feels bad you missed, that they were experimenting on animals as well and made the mutant hounds and something else (think its the snallygaster). also one of the subjects escaped in 81 and it gives you the last known coordinates of it. makes me wonder if you would be able to find it if you could figure out the log and lat on the map.

If your high level I'm 62 this place is a gold mine of super mutants. Their was overlords and even warlords warlords are the highest ranked super mutants I've found so far. I got a 3 star legendary from one of the legendary war lords. But be careful I swear their was a 100 super mutants in there they just kept coming. Remember rank doesn't mean everything rank means a lot look at names.

Why would you play fallout 76 alone? Thats basically like playing fallout 4 without all the parts that makes it a good game.

So does this mean the water in this town is still infected with FVE? If it is then anyone in or near the town that are drinking the water are turning into super mutants as time went on after the bombs fell. There is a metion about a farm that is connected to the infected water system somwhat far from the town. That location is producing super mutants as will and more likely creating mutant animals from the water. These are a theory of mine if the water is still active with the FVE due to super mutants activities in West Virginia as they are both enemies and merchants in the game.
