Before the internet was a thing, we had three vhs tapes from Westside. Those were some fun times.

Louie and Lance having a little battle, the old man never backed down. See how he rushes up right behind Lance before he is barely done, this is a common westsider trick to decrease the time between sets and push the other person. The air of animalistic competitiveness is now gone from the gym, lost in time with most of the warriors who called it home.

Westside belong to the 00's. I remember i lifted in chucks. My gym had that kind of atmosphere in the late 90 early 00. We used to squat in team. If you were late you started with the weight on the bar, no deloading. Gym was a home. Now i'm on a commercial gym, no atmosphere.

Greg Panora shared a story of when he visited Westside in 2015, after his departure in mid-2010, Louie stopped him in the parking lot and said, “Dude I’m embarrassed to have you visiting. The crew today doesn’t have the same strength or energy when you were a member here”. WSBB members back then wanted to be the best and were literally living out of their cars just to be there and cling to the top.

That's why I train alone in my basement. Dirty, blood stains, speed metal blasting. Would be nice to have a training partner, but the odds of finding a decent one, would be easier for me to grow a foot taller.

doe anyone know how many pounds of tension the bands add?
@WestsideBarbellOfficial2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the band, how it's looped and the stretch of the band. You can use a fish or luggage scale to measure band tension for your specific setup to get the exact amount of tension.
