Hello, PREVENT PAPER BUCKLING!. In this video we create a beautiful sunset scene along the ocean and bay and show how to avoid Watercolor paper buckling with wet in wet technique. I show how to use wet into wet washes along with direct approach ( non-wet in wet ) to help keep the washes 90% under control. We also use a limited palette of colors to achieve that sunset feel. Feel free to view art on my web site at chrispetri.com on a google search. A special thanks to fellow KZfaq Creator Carmen Rodriguez and Thomas Clark who create and produce all of my incredible Intro and Outro videos! The following are key words related to the You Tube platform as well as good research glossary.Hi Everyone, In this video we create a beautiful sunset scene along the ocean and bay with the Wet in Wet Technique. Thx, Good idea QQ,... I will add that key word! Cropping is very effective with the Watercolor medium right? Oil and Acrylic painters have a difficult time cropping once they have finished a painting.

Interesting; kinda abstract. About Sepia; does it mix well with other colors to achieve a dark version of that color your mixing with it? I use burnt Sienna and ultramarine to mix my dark, but I'm wondering on the Sepia,as a mixer to darken other colors..

Hi Deborah, the sepia I use is pretty opaque like burnt umber, … the Windsor & Newton I use is interesting,... has a warm reddish hue to it. I would try some swatches to see how you like it perhaps? I find other brands have a different look to them as well. Great luck trying some new possible colors! :0) Happy Painting!

I love the granulation in the sky! What brand of Cobalt blue did you use. I have many cobalt blues and they all granulate differently from each other. In my collection my old grumbacher and an old blockx have the best the best texture. But I don't know if the formula for this paint in these brands are the same these days.

Hi Mary Kay, I use Windsor & Newton cobalt blue, and also have Holbein cobalt blue in the paint tube supply bag. The paper I used here is Arches Satin texture and it creates incredible textures and granulation is really pronounced using this paper. It adds another layer of interest to any painting. Thanks for watching and your interesting and insightful comments,...Happy Painting!

Hi Chris, I noticed that u use smart phone. But u dont use instagram do u? I just notice that on instagram people upload some shory videos and gain subscribers pretty quick, for some people not me🙃. I dont know how much u r interested in this quicker pace of info. But for expanding ur subscribers i think having more channels, like instagram and facebook might do some significant work. It's just an idea. U might want to focus on youtube. Nothing wrong. I just hope to see more people can see how meaningful and helpful ur videos are. And how beautiful ur art is. I did one imitation of ur limited palette floral painting and shared it on my instagram and posted the link of ur video. Some friend might have come and check it out. Just wish i had more followers to spread ur beautiful art. Anyway, happy painting! U r awesome!💛

Working on other social media would be taking away from other tasks that must be done at this point....too busy ;0( ………. I am extremely busy working on a gallery show coming up early next year incidentally... so I have to start creating and framing approximately 30 to 40 new paintings to add to my existing stock. Did I mention I am working a full time job until I can support myself with my professional art income LOL.... :0) So that is my story,... and I have a Watercolor book to finish too!!!!! :0) Keep having fun and Happy Painting QQ, TTS.

Good observation Maria, I went back and looked at the original photograph and the light did brighten up the center section of the distant shoreline a bit. I could go back with a damp brush and tissue and blot some paint out of that area... If It was a gallery or commissioned painting I would probably do that. Do you make corrections to your painting's?
