Try holding the shaver between your pointer and middle fingers, and let your pinky and ring finger glide on your scalp as you shave. This gives you immediate feedback as to whether you’ve missed any places, and how close of a shave you’ve gotten.

I have been using a razor for years , I brought a pitball pro about 3 weeks ago I use it every 2 days and it is pretty good it is never going to be as close as a blade but it is pretty close , no cuts or nics much cleaner to use , I have only used it dry so far if I use the foil attachment as well it is very smooth

I do it dry but put a bit of bio oil on my head first and I get a closer, smoother (electric) shave... you should try it plus you’re moisturising at the same time 😂

@@baldmandating Pure sweet almond oil is the best choice as a pre shave oil IMO. I use it when I shave with a straight razor.

Moisturizers are you friends, you might not see/feel the benefit immediately, but after a few weeks your skinn feels way better.

I found the best way is to use Jojoba oil first. It also lubricates the blades

Running your fingers through your hair in the shower while you're saving helps move the water or the Shaving gel or cream around to get on the skin get on the hair and help something in it make it easier closer shave and also it makes it easier to get the water in there and get the hair follicles wet so the hair can be removed easier in my experience and I've used the manual razor to do that

Hah cheers - love the skull shaver. Have recently started using it more than the Remington Rx5 - the SkullShaver doesn't "tug" on my hairs if I let it grow out a little longer.

@@shaiderblack6311 For me it does but ONLY when I let my hair grow for more than a week (which is something I almost never do) and if I go in straight lines. Moving the remington in circles fixes the issue for me.

I have been looking at the Skull Shaved however lately I have been wet shaving using Defender Razor which is my favorite so far as well as Babyliss Foil. 👍

I've been hearing good things about the Babyliss foil - I'm saving up for one. Will give my thoughts when I get it. Reason I like the Skull Shaver (and the Remington Rx5) is there's a ZERO percent chance of ever nicking/cutting yourself, something I'm prone to doing (because I rush too quickly when I shave).

You must be using the Foil at least twice a week right? Otherwise the hair is too long, I guess depending on how much hair you have.

@@carlyoungblood7084 yes, I use the foil trimmer 3 times per week, while the Babyliss gets a bit closer I am really liking the Andis Foil a bit better because you don’t have to replace the head as often. I still like using the Defender Razor for wet shaving, I am willing to say this is the best Razor I have ever used, I have the Omni, the Headblade, etc but nothing beats the defender and in my opinion the stuff by leaf shave is junk :(

I’ve just bought a Pitbull to allow me to dry shave. Off I’m going to wet shave it makes more sense to use a razor.

I use a skull shaver gold with Barbasol for sensitive skin, then shower. Putting Cerave pm facial moisturizing lotion on after feels great. Best if done twice a week. Don't forget to use a double edge single blade razor to shave the edges and face if you dont have a beard

Not having a mirror available seems pretty tough to deal with. I personally have a lot of trouble telling the hair length on certain areas.

I use my Skull shave with a wet shave lather and all. It is a closer shave for me if i wet shave. As for the Skull shaver I love it best shave my poor bald head has ever gotten.

Honestly mate they're both incredibly similar. I will say the Skullshaver is easy to find replacement blades for, so keep that in mind. If you don't care about replacing the blades, grab the cheaper remington.

The blade that came with the silver pro would irritate the back of my neck. Bought the forte blade for it and never had an issue.

Yeah, was looking into this as an alternative as thought it may be quicker. Seems the razor is the winner all round bar a bit of mess in the sink

Razors work too, but I don't like having to use shaving cream - I prefer dry shaving (or wet shaving in the shower - without shaving cream) with the Pitbull/similar head shavers.

Not on my head - I have for my beard. I'm hopeless with them though - I cut myself like 5 times over a 3 month period before I finally just said "Ok, me and safety razors don't mix." Maybe I'm just clumsy.

@@baldmandating Ah I don't think so. I have seen blind people learn how to do it, and I have seen guys using old school straight razors on their head. The key is a good prep and a good shave soap a decent razor and some good blades. 5 cuts over 3 month is actually pretty good though for a beginner. Or did you cut yourself really bad? A lot of baldies I knew swear by the Leaf razor. It looks like a cartridge but you can use old school razor blades in it. So you get the benefit of a fixed angle and the crazy sharpnes of these very cheap blades. I just hate the high cost of cartridges and the result they have given me so I switched. To be fair I spend more now on stainless razors and shave soap as I did on cartridges. But the result is worth it. Sometimes I get that smooth of a shave that it feels like I had waxed my dome. And pplenty of great videos here on YT that show you how it's done. Just a suggestion you take a look into it. What I really can recomend are pre shave soaps. They work wonders on the head. @@fritzkaraldo8452 They were quite bad cuts - mostly because I shave too quickly and don't take my time. It's my own fault. I do agree the shave you get is REALLY smooth. Maybe I'll buy one again in future and take my time with it/be more careful.

@@baldmandating I find shaving my head that way to be the most relaxing thing ever. Sure I need more time but what I get in return is worth it. And all the nice scents you get with wet shaving? Mate I tell you, you miss out on pretty epic stuff.

They're both about the same - at this point, I use the Pitbull just because it's easier to find replacement blades.

This is not directed towards you, you look hot and I am sure your content is as well. The stuff from this company is CHEAP. Just dropped $130 on the "travel case" which is a carboard box, not even properly sewn together. Just literally a Big Mac box with their label on it. $20 for that piece of garbage. Then the "manicure set" is made from pot metal. The tweezers don't work. I guess this company is on it's way out the door and wants to make as much money as they can before they do. The razor itself, feels like a dollar general toy. Save your money.
