After building the fishing rig, now is the fun part: testing it out! Let's see how this works on the ocean! Who needs a fish pro?!

this makes me so happy to see the light weight and the classic out fishing, everyone i talk to says this is impossible for some unknown reason, awesome fishing rig!
@VladOnEarth Жыл бұрын
not that it is impossible, but it is SUPER unstable. It will be nothing but suffering. I have 2022 Trixx, trust me I know :D

I found on my fish pro that if I stood up and leaned forward I could go 9mph with the nose not rising. Food for thought. Love the vid!

I love this especially the older ski with the fishing rig on it might buy a old ski and throw some rods on it

I just did a Humminbird helix 5 di/gps on my '19 spark trixx and can't wait to try it out once warmer. That a 2 or 3 up? Trying to rig up storage in back.

Put LOCKWIRE on your turnbuckles. I did the exact same thing on my spark and they will vibrate loose if you aren’t paying close attention.

great video, so the old polaris got the sea doo linq set up on the back too?

these are actually not linq systems, they're home made! they connect with turnbuckles

Think it would be possible to scuba dive from a spark or would it be better on a bigger jetski
@WeTryMotorsports Жыл бұрын
that might be a little difficult to carry the gear. I suppose anything is possible. I would choose a fish pro but if you only had enough for a spark then why not

Looks great! Just got a 2021 Trixx and looking to build a setup like this. Are those eyelets on the back of the Trixx just threaded in or did you have to put a nut on it? Also did you strap the rack to the tow hook as well? I remember your other video you weren't sure what to do there. Or is it strapped at the back of the Sea Doo.
@WeTryMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! I guess I can highlight it in another video but I used stainless everything - I did use a nut on the eye bolts. This was also with washers up top, a smaller washer with a lock washer down below, then the nut. Where the step is supposed to be, I threaded in a small eye bolt (on the right). Then I used turnbuckles to hold everything to the ski. A total of 3 turnbuckles. It's very solid... Aside from one time I launched myself off a large wave, landed sideways and my rig fell off haha.

How did you put the eye bolts on ?
@WeTryMotorsports11 ай бұрын
I use the already pre drilled holes on the back of the ski on each side. I sandwiched the hull with stainless hardware. The eyebolt on the bottom, I threaded in a stainless eyebolt that matched the step area.
@rosariofalzone500811 ай бұрын
@@WeTryMotorsports hows are they holding up ?
@WeTryMotorsports11 ай бұрын
@@rosariofalzone5008 mint. the turnbuckles are designed to loosen and tighten as needed. no damage to the hull and no problems so far. The only issue I had is when I fell off the ski and the system dropped but I did not lose anything. it's in one of my videos lol

What's the other guy on? An old polaris? I'm actually watching the video cause I wanted to see how a smaller craft similar to the older skis handled fishing from it
@WeTryMotorsports Жыл бұрын
1996 Polaris SLT780. It was a 3 seater. It was a bit more stable than the spark but less degree of tipping point.
@Catboy-hr2qp Жыл бұрын
@We Try Motorsports so the sl750 I'm looking at would be a bit less stable than that slt 780, since it's 1 foot shorter in length and has a 2 inch narrower beam. How would you compare the stability to a kayak? I've kayaked before and hated it way too tippy, I've been in a cabelas pond prowler boat and it wasn't bad and has nearly the same dimensions in terms of length and width as the older polaris
@WeTryMotorsports Жыл бұрын
@@Catboy-hr2qp it's less tippy than a kayak but it has a higher center of gravity so the higher you are on the vessel it starts to become unstable. I never really felt unstable on the spark, but I have tipped over one time. only because I was being an idiot lol. anyways best way to find out is to try really.
@Catboy-hr2qp Жыл бұрын
@We Try Motorsports yep I've never jet skiid or fished from one before but hopefully this will give me a chance to try it without dumping a ton of money
