I own three Nikon D700's. They are the perfect back up camera or budget setup for 2018!!

I have the d700 and d800. I only shoot b/w, and tones from the d700 are the best I've had in a digital camera. It's my main camera for fashion and portraits because it's pleasingly sharp, and with less MP, it produces a softer image which closer resembles film with added grain in post. I produce prints at around 20inches and they are stunning. I've had the super high MP cameras like the fuji gfx50r and it's a marketing con. Now, I embrace old tech, less MP and a simpler life.

There's a lot of value in a 12 megapixel sensor - the original Canon EOS 5D was 12MP and the current Sony A7S III and FX3 are too - all outstanding cameras.

The D700 is still my favorite camera. Those 12 MP force you to improve your composition by removing the possibility of cropping. The color that sensor and processor produce is truly what makes this body so special. Not even the D3, D4, D5 produce it by default.

I rarely crop, always compose on the spot best I can :) I love the D700, it was always my dream camera and I got a minty one for 399 with low counter :) I use it with my D500! so I have speed, video and beauty :)

Daniel Millán in Swindon, a place called T4 cameras, they have had a few older Nikon cameras in the secondhand section. They had a D300s in minty condition for awhile, that was 299. Some nice deals

I have a Sony A7III now, but I still use my D700 very often. With the optional grip it shoots at 8 fps and I'm not sure what it is, but the pictures it produces have some sort of soul that I can't get the A7III to replicate...Cameras produce too perfectly digital images these days...It's like 4k, impressive but excessively artificial, lifeless in many applications

I do pictures for a fashion model, I always use my D700 now :) often have a Nikkor 85m F1.8G

I just did a fashion shoot using a Canon 24-70 2.8 indoors mist pics were blurry then I switched to my 70-200 2.8 is and pics came out beautiful. so what went wrong with my 24-70 please help. models were walking I had a shutter speed of f/80 ISO on auto with flash and no flash at times blurry pics

you need faster shutter speed to stop motion blur
