Whangārei in Northland, New Zealand is a growing hub of great food. Here are some of our favourite spots to eat at whenever we're passing through....
What we ate and where we ate it:
1. Hello Pickle, 214 Bank Street, Regent, Whangārei 0112. Open 7am-2pm Monday to Friday. Pies $12, Sausage roll $9.
2. All you Knead, 8 Vine Street. Whangārei 0110. Open Wednesday-Friday 7 am-3 pm, Saturday 6 am- Sold Out. Apple Bun $5 and Ham and cheese pretzel $5
3. Local Talent Taverna, 99 Cameron Street, Whangārei 0110. Open 5pm-9pm Tuesday and Wednesday and 12-10pm Thursday to Saturday. Greek Mezze Plate $22, Bifteki cheeseburer & Greek fries $23, Shawarma chicken thigh souvlaki $25 plus pita $5, Vanilla, local honey, toasted sesame frozen yoghurt $12

Zadie is such a good baby. She was really eyeing those delicious pies...LOL!! Zadie's patience was wearing thin when she realize that she was not getting to taste the food she was seeing and smelling. SO CUTE!!

Chicken, cranberry and Brie sounds absolutely divine.......I've made chicken, cranberry and camembert pie before and that was pretty awesome. It sounds like the smoked brisket stole the party. I love watching you guys eat haha.......thanks again guys.

Once again, the food all looks good. The apple bun and the sausage roll really caught my attention! Meat pies aren't really a big thing where I live, but I sure could go for that chicken and cranberry one. What a great variety of options you had. The good thing about the rain is that it masks any drool that might escape.

We forgot to bring our keep cups on this trip. We know we’re doing the best we can to promote and live a life that is environmentally friendly whilst trying to film content and look after a baby. All of Zadie’s food was in reusable stainless steel containers and to be honest I don’t have the capacity to take my own containers to carry a pie in whilst holding a baby and a camera. We make contributions in other ways for example utilising the bokashi system at home for all our food waste so that we only put out one rubbish bag a month or utilising our whole catch when we fish or subscribing to Wonky Box for our fruit and veg needs. We talk about this on social media often. Cheers, Sheena
