Several people have notified me of the existence of this video. I cut ties with the Hornio Brothers more than five years ago due to a fundamental ideological disagreement. They are no longer part of my life. Edit: Clarifications: The tape had "Super Hornio Bros" silkscreened on it, and I wasn't familiar with the pre-existing saga so I didn't understand the significance of "Scenes from Part I." The "documentary" was going to be a very strange ~5 minute film "documenting" the ritual I used to digitize the VHS tape, set to the Alchemist's theme from Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain. I still have the footage around here somewhere but (IIRC) I never finished it before I had to send the tape back, as I was extremely busy applying for art schools and having ADHD. I had been using the equipment to digitize Betacam tapes I'd found and ended up making a piece that got me a scholarship.

A lot of people don’t know this, but Super Hornio Brothers 2 was actually a palette swap of the classic Japanese film Diki Diki Panic.

That's actually pretty baller on Nintendo's part. They couldn't block it because it was a parody, so they bought it so they can block it on copyright grounds.

Based solely on the title, this must surely be a tale of how The Mario Brothers gained horns while battling Bowser, right?

Since Nintendo owns the rights to this that means this is technically AN OFFICIAL SUPER MARIO PORNO LICENCED BY NINTENDO

The fact that a company so family friendly as Nintendo actually owns the rights to a parody porno just reminds me that we're in an interesting timeline.

It's actually kind of brilliant on Nintendo's part if you think about it, they could have attempted a lengthy and expensive court battle, and possibly lost since it would have been protected as parody, but instead they realized this was just a one-off and would be less expensive if they just bought the rights to it and didn't release it.

OKAY BUT THE SHAZAAM MANDELA EFFECT IS ACTUALLY INSANE AND HERE’S WHY: so my dad worked in the movie business for 40 years and in my childhood home we had movie posters hung up from all the movies my dad worked on. one of these movie posters was for “shazaam” since my dad worked on it. growing up i always called it the “shazaam” poster and thought that sinbad was the genie in the poster. this poster was up for years in my childhood home until i graduated high school and my dad moved into a smaller house. 3 years ago from this last june, my dad passed away and i have all of his belongings- including all of his movie posters. about a year or so ago my fiancé and i started talking about “shazaam” and we got into an argument about who starred in it. he said shaq, i said sinbad. i was so certain it was sinbad on that movie poster considering i saw it thousands of times. sure enough though, we looked it up and it’s the movie poster with shaq, and it’s not called “shazaam” like we both remembered- it’s “kazaam”. i even pulled out the movie poster from where i had it stored and there’s frickin shaq starring in “kazaam”. i had no idea this was a “mandela effect” until hearing so from this video. i can understand mis-remembering the movie as “shazaam”, but why sinbad?! my dad also worked on a cartoon movie with sinbad, but i remember them separately and don’t feel that had any influence on my memory let alone everyone else’s. my mind is blown and i want answers, dammit!

Sometime between 2010-2012, I remember playing some sort of flash game involving oil and stuff. What I remember is not much frankly, but there was the classic platforming, and the graphics were smooth. It had some tie in with the BP oil spill and that was a big mechanic of the game (I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT "Super Mario Bros BP Oil Spill") The progression of the story had a big Castle Crashers-esqe trope to it where the end goal kept getting taken right within your reach, almost in a comical way each time. The main villain was circular shaped like Dr Eggman but was possibly in a mech. It was linear with loading screens between each little area, but no level system. This is all I can remember at the moment

16:38 The legality of something being a parody is determined by a court case. If you don't have money to appear in court to make that claim, it doesn't matter what anyone says. If a company like Nintendo is going to toss their weight around to keep a case from going to court, it doesn't matter if parody is legally acceptable, because it would need to go to trial to prove that it is.
