@@karenamyx2205 I've generally heard he was surprisingly progressive for a Southern white guy of that era, at least from what is publicly documented about him. Him being difficult to work with notwithstanding (which like, you can hardly blame him for, he saw an opportunity to be in a movie and it clearly just went to his head), the fact that he was willing to even work with a director of ultra-violent schlock paracinema (who had a previous history making softcore porn), *and* have such films advertise his chicken with early product placement, all suggests that he couldn't have been *too* uptight.

19:09 Re: Why didn't the Miss have Cathy scalped... In the industry they only use healthy, virgin hair for wigs, extensions and hair pieces - meaning no hair dye, bleach, perms, etc. Cathy's hair looks bleached and/or dyed so it can't be used in this kind of business. You could see her roots are almost a light auburn brown with a champagne/honey undertone and a cool tone blonde at the ends of her updo hairstyle. It's impossible for this to occur naturally and there is almost a clear line where one colour ends and the other begins so I would bet her hair was processed. In the real world this means it can't be successfully used.

@@OliveMule It was originally used to describe the overly affected way that a lot of gays act, but now a days it's just a general aesthetic style and sensibility that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value. @@OliveMule It has nothing to do with 'gay' or 'gayness'. There's a lot of Components to 'Campy' movies. Usually things will be badly acted, or Overacted. A character acting unnatural. - And/Or elements will be over stylized, or gaudy; Be it clothes, set-decoration, music, or use of vibrant colors - like in the 60's and 80's. 'Cheesy' could be interchangeable with 'Camp'. A badly designed, outdated, or odd monster in a horror movie could make it described as Cheesy, or Camp. E.G. Attack of the Crab Monsters, Trogg, or Zaat. Essentially you could even say it's a 'bad'(In a common sense, doesn't have to mean actually bad) or unnatural movie with notable stylizations that could humor you.

It's about *spoilers* an elderly mother and her grown up son living together in a tiny one room apartment, and the son has literally never left the place for his entire life. 1:50 While it has to do with the advertising and not the main deal, my dad actually knew Joe Bob Briggs before he became famous through his B-movie and horror movie reviews starting in the 90s. The two of them were living in Houston at the time and both found out about this actual cult that they pretended to join for laughs. If you ever hear him mention a "big guy named Tim" from time to time in any of his reviews and commentaries from the Showtime and USA days in the 90s, that's my dad and his old buddy he's talking about.

Hey whang I grew a twirly mustachioe like you. I was in prison(irl state prison) this whole pandemic so I had a lot of bored time and my twirl was so long I had to trim like 1/5 inch off yesterday. I had the long spiked chin too for van dyke or we it's called but the mask wearing on chin made me cut it today was, was growing like 14 months. If any1 reads all that I'd be surprised Edit: I've been home 3 weeks now. World's weird af now I was in from April 4 2020- sept 21 2021. I don't feel like I missed much which is nice.

Yeah, I don't think that Simpsons episode was referencing this film. 'Gruesome twosome' is quite a well-known phrase and I'm not sure it even originated with this film.

What made B movies popular again? I’m not hating that it happened just confused cause growing up it was definitely an underground kinda group. Its kinda cool its getting this chance again. Lot of good movies that most people had no idea were even made. Also beatniks? That was more of a southern style going on. The Beat Generation all talked like they were from new york.

Movie fans, video distribution, archivist, and nostalgia. These will always sell and the word of mouth will only grow in forums, social media, and video coverage as time goes on. In this case a guy named Mike Vraney and his wife Lisa saved MANY of these films from being destroyed, some with only one print remaining. So Lisa and Mike formed 'Something Weird Video' and salvaged an incredible amout of odd films(including these H.G. Lewis movies) and released them on VHS, DVD, and now Blu Ray. Word of mouth has continually grown throughout the years since the VHS days and now a lot more people are talking about them. Still, with ebbs and flows everything makes a resurgence, but fans will eat them up forever. Sadly Mike passed away in 2014, but Lisa still runs the label, still strongly might I add. Putting out new releases and everything.
