He only got the fight because he was promoted by steen and joey Pyle wouldn't of happened other wise. Gangland envolment got the fight on. Sykes was really highly rated and was thought as a favourite for the fight in many circles. Many people lost a lot of money on gardener Sykes fight.

Paul sykes story is a very sad one i think the best way to describe him would be unbalanced which i think had a lot to do with his violant father. An example of this is that he could do a times crossword puzzle in about 15 minutes and the same bloke robbed a bookies in blackpool in a stolen car,a jag i think then switched over to another stolen car which was the same colour and model,absolutely crazy. Its such a shame he went the way he did with drink because he did have a lot to offer, maybe helping kids ect because they would have listened to someone like him. I know one of the spencley brothers got him an easy job doing after dinner speaking and he never showed up,probably because of drink, from the way he was i bet he would have been good at that but to see him at the end was such a shame

Sykes resting pulse rate was allegedly 40 beats per min, when he was fit. He could also do 150 push ups, with someone laid on his back. Not only that he also holds a weightlifting record, and boxed professionally. Duffy headlock my arse.

I was in Durham as a YP back in day & that never happened or did I hear of it happening, Paul was a hard man but the other cons wouldn’t have allowed it never mind screws.. to label someone an N is bad especially when they were not and guys like yourself people listen to and it’s good your putting the truth out because lot of liars on youtube but lying about that is sick and the people saying it to think that way are worse it’s on there mind.

I agree all the stories going around about Paul Sykes are a weak attempt at pulling his name down. I am not calling Brian Cockerilll a liar, but a lot of bullshit is going around about Mr Sykes during his sentences and even outside of prison. Did the story about Lee Duffy meeting Sykes in prison happen like Brian said? Most probably, but that doesn't mean Mr Sykes is a nonce does it. Rumors are just that, rumors. Also, that being said, I do watch a guy on KZfaq, called Tails from the Jails, a really good channel, X screw from Strangeways, hes a real character and has really good stories about his time during his service. He also has expressed views on Paul Sykes, a lot of them very negative in the same light of noncin about. I think I did hear him also mention the Sunday sport on the cheeks of the ass while he thrusted away. To be honest sometimes you need to take all rumors with a pinch of salt, Like Ray said, unless you were there and saw it with your own eye, its probably Bullshit

It was said a lot in Armley prison during the 80s. Paul was a cleaner on B wing when it was a YP wing. first time I ever went to jail I was in the day cell waiting to be shipped out to what I thought was going to be Armley, another con told me to watch out for Sykes as he liked blondes.lol Thankfully I went to DC that time. They were loads of tales about PS though in them days, never seen it myself.

@clydebroughton8376 it might have been in the 80s, in the 90s YP wing was B wing and (B1 block)., C wing was convicted and (C1 bathhouse , A wing was remand and rule 43a(A1 kitchen) and D wing was remand and (D1 hospital wing. It was my local jail. I might be wrong but that's how it was from memory.

There's a retired prison officer on KZfaq that first made these claims . He has appeared on Mr Samworths Real Porridge YT site but it wasn't said on Samworth's show . I wish I could remember the blokes name , John something or other , grey hair and beard with spectacles . To be honest , he sounded very convincing when he recounted the story . I did comment at the time , that if true he was as bad if not worse than Sykes himself , but he removed the comment .
