11:33 honestly me too. Every single time i see this Season i forget about the Knights. As good as the rest of the Season is the Knights always felt a bit pointless at worst and under-developed at best. I really wish they'd done more with them, like they are dangerous in this episode but i feel like they needed at least one or two additional episodes of build-up as i'm pretty sure this only the third episode they ever appear in.

Tyrion marrying Myrcella off against Cersei's wish: Tyrion is the acting Hand of the King, and while technically the Hand is subservient to the King, the true power lies within Tywin Lannister and he was the one that gave the position to Tyrion. So, Tyrion's decrees while being the Hand, have the backing of Tywin Lannister. Especially because Tyrion's choices in his "spy trap setup" were really clever because all of the three alternatives were also smart and sensible as such. Any of them would have been approved and appreciated by Tywin. Regardless of who the snitch would have been, that marriage choice would have given Tywin a formidable ally. Joffrey may be the king and Cersei the queen regent but true power is in Tywin Lannister's hands.

I liked it, so I came to watch the whole series, but it's really disappointing that these episodes are so short, you cut out *so much* of the episodes. Little character note about Theon: Theon is conflicted, but he's ultimately driven by his insecurities. His father withholds his love, so Theon is trying to earn it.

Martin kind of borrowed the episode title / the Greyjoy unofficial motto "What is dead may never die" from the horror author H. P. Lovecraft. They actually couldn’t afford her this season because of spike. Spike essentially replaced her. James Marsters said it in an interview, she seemed cool with it, he wanted to make sure she was okay with the circumstances.

I agree that Buffy should have told Dawn what happened between her and Spike, however there was allot going on she had no time to dwell on it herself because as soon as it happened she had to go deal with Warren and his bank heist, then she got shot, then she had to try and find/stop Willow, returned home and had to deal with Dawn and Tara's body, then back to trying to stop Willow from crossing a line. She had no time to process it herself. Now I say this as a survivor of SA, Xander had zero right to tell Dawn about that. And the fact he is never held accountable for that always annoyed me to no end. One of the hardest things you can do as a survivor is talk to someone about it, but you do it in your own time and nobody else has the right to tell other people what happened regardless of circumstances. I get that Dawn was annoying him by talking about Spike but that was not a valid enough excuse for him to tell her what happened. That should have come from Buffy and only Buffy, and i think she would have eventually told her once they got Willow back there was just no time in these episodes as the events of episode 19-22 all happen in a single day. These are some of my favourite episodes and tied with The Gift as my favourite Season finale, but the way the SA reveal was handled with Dawn was so bad. Edit: also yes. Giles is too hot to die. We stan the love for the sexy librarian.

I came into the series in the middle, so by the time I managed to watch season 1, I already knew Angel was a vampire, so I never got to have that moment. So I can live it vicariously through you. :D

The combat that Catelyn arrives at is a melee on horseback and Brienne beats everyone there(several of whom made a wager to claim her virginity and were pleasant to her only to gain her favor). The person who revealed it to her was Sam's father Randyll Tarly, so she felt indebted to him for it(despite him being a dick, believing a woman shouldn't be in armor). One of them, Ronnet Connington, was betrothed to her, but took one look at her face and gave her a rose, telling her that was all she would ever receive from him and ended the betrothal. Brienne knocked him flat in the melee. Renly's Kingsguard is named "the Rainbow Guard"in the books, with the knights within it taking colors of the rainbow(which is usually connected to the Faith of Seven). Stannis's own Maester thinks this silly colorful version is very much like something that Renly would choose. Most likely this was removed because it would be too on the nose(given Renly's leanings). Brienne's blue cloak was initially being held for Ser Barristan(the old knight that was removed from Joffrey's kingsguard), as he was said to be joining the one true king. Every major claimant in Westeros believes it to mean them. Renly takes a meandering journey to Kings Landing with his army, traveling and feasting in the Reach. Catelyn believes its so the different sides weaken each other so he has an easier go of conquest. Renly of the Books is much more of the fighter(having taken part in the Hands tourney, though he lost against the Hound). He wears bright green plate armor with golden antlers. He also reveals to her that Ned refused his wishes to overthrow Joffrey in favor of himself, which makes Catelyn resent him for abandoning Ned when he needed him. Theon names his own ship rather than Asha(his sister in the books). "A Lannister kid who's not a complete psychopath?" Joffrey is the worst of the children, as he's been coddled and brought up by Cersei and ignored by Robert(who himself thought of abandoning the Throne to become a sellsword in Essos, if it weren't for the thought of Joffrey being king with Cersei guiding him). Tommen is gentle and soft(and a bit more chubby in the books). Myrcella is sweet and courtly and absolutely unlike her mother. When Littlefinger demands Tyrion leave him out of his next deception, Tyrion thinks "As long as you leave me out of yours." , referring to Littlefinger's lie about the dagger sent to kill Bran being Tyrion's. When Pycelle is arrested, he reveals that he was the one who convinced the Mad King to open his gates for Tywin, as he had always been loyal to the Lannisters. He also got his whole beard shaved off by Shagga's axe, which left it wispy and unable to grow back properly after.

I hate this episode. It goes too far, I think, especially with Herbert (the pig) getting eaten. That said, I could not agree with you more, Nick Brendan's acting in this is *phenomenal*.

Regarding 'does Tyrion have that power' -- well, think of it diplomatically. If he's already been in contact with Dorne and arranged the exchange, then it's kind of past the point of no return. To then go back on the deal would look really strange to someone you are ostensibly trying to ally with and form an ongoing relationship. You might have to give up something physical, in addition to the political capital spent. Point is, even if Tywin listened to Cersei and wanted to terminate the deal, it would be at odds with his plans and goals because it would push away a great house for (to him) no real reason.

In the books, Mormont didn't know Crastor was sacrificing his sons to the white walkers, he thought Crastor was killing them as offerings to his gods or something, so it made some sense he was turning a blind eye to it. In this TV show, Mormont seems to know Crastor was giving them to the white walkers, so it makes little sense for Mormont to turn a blind eye to it knowing Crastor was supplying their great enemy. I feel like they should have stuck with the book version there, this version doesn't make a lot of sense for Lord Commander Mormont.

i can see why you are frustrated with jack's attitude towards walt's disappearing. but, as a lot of people have pointed out, only one week passed since he has been taken, and even less if we consider the time that jack knows about the kidnapping (he is only aware of it since michael and co have come back to the camp). he had to deal with the death of shannon, sawyer's wound and probably the fear that the group must be in. and it doesn't matter how many guns they have because they don't know where the others took him and as we can see on rousseau's map, the island is HUGE. running in circles is not gonna help especially with the others that know way more about the island than the group. also, michael's reaction is absolutely not okay. locking two people that could've been such a big help, stealing a gun then go wandering in the enemy's territory without any idea where to look??? this is the best way to NOT find your son and get yourself killed of course, you are free to have your opinion, but i do think it is important to have all the pieces love ur reactions to lost, can't wait to see more!!!!!!
