Well, in high school one of my teachers told us that 25 years is the age when humans stop replacing cells at the same rate that they die, and therefore it's the year that we truly begin to age (and begin our journey towards death).

I love watching this channel it always feeds my curiosity for the bigger picture. I know many ppl say these videos gives them existential dread but I love it cause it really puts into prespective how amazing just existence is and how easily we forget that getting caught up in minor details and the issues in society. It's nice to give your brain a break and enjoy being.

I feel the same way! These videos makes me feel a sense of comfort in a way and makes me forget about the problems i have in life. Learning and knowledge are a really great thing it makes me appreciative of my very existence and I'm happy as well that we were able to evolve into such amazing species starting right down from how we survived and become who we are in the present to how these survival mechanisms made us able to invent, create, and form new things that is able to further advance us in our life but these inventions are the very thing that is also harming our planet earth Sorry from my poor english, it isn't my first language and I'm still learning about it. I have a lot to learn.

And not any star, the heavier elements that we are made up can only be created in the most massive stars. And even more, the heaviest of the elements can only be created when the corpses of two of the most massive stars collide. Our very existance is due to the two most energetic, violent and impressive events in the universe, a supernova explosion and the collide of two neutron stars. It is so absolutelu breathtaking to just think about it.

@@alireardon6664 when starting out, a star is made up of light elements such as helium. As it ages, the gravity of the star forces the light elements inside it to fuse. Going up the periodic table up to iron. Then it dies. Stars are basically factories that convert elements into other elements. We are made of carbon, which comes from these star factories.

As a biochem prof, I teach the bio and chem of these ideas in my classes, but don't touch so much on the philosophical areas which are interesting. One area I wish the video had explored is the fuzzy distinction between a colony and individual. Some colonies of individuals (such a bees, ants, termites) exhibit properties of a single multicellular organism. In some organisms (sponges, slime molds) the distinction between colony and organism is even more blurry.

Well, sorry for yet again touching the metaphysical part of it; but - assuming we're a pattern - wouldn't the whole structure of the colony be a single living being? I mean, cells pretty much do the same, and are not considered individuals of their own. If a cell of yours died, would you be dead? Colonies just went bonkers with the idea.

I think the ant or bee colony still have their own individual needs, while our body is ,cells needs less than the ants. Idk if a particular cell wants more glucose but they seems like machine who require similar and each enzyme etc function is fixed. Cancer cell feels like how we might have come lol. Like they seem to have own consiouness, evading body's immune system etc.

Itsa Me MrO not really. Science actually emerged from, yet is also distinct from, philosophy. They use two different methods of reasoning. Science is inductive, using observations and predictions to make claims that are very highly probable but never unquestionably true. Philosophy and mathematics use deductive reasoning. Logic is used to pursue and hopefully arrive at claims that are true by necessity. The line between the two can get very blurry though, as both types of reasoning have borrowed from the other. Indeed, curse Human's complex emotion systems. He baited us with the use of 1. cute design which stimulates pre-evolved baby sympathy emotions, 2. sad face self explanatory. 3. change in tone of voice to a more sympathetic one. We're very sensitive to tones of sound, since we're one of millions of organisms that have evolved to communicate with sound and since we're 1 of 2 groups of organism (primates and cetaceans (whale family) that have evolved really complicated vocalization systems. It's why we make/are sensitive to things like music. Well played.

You can replace your whole bode anatomically except your brain and you will still be you. You change something in your brain and you feel changed. Your same body with a different brain is a totally different person. A clone of your brain on a different body or an artificial body is still a clone of your brain. Yes it will have your memories and pattern of thinking, but once it starts its consciousness that cloned brain will experience life Different from you. 2 brains although similar will not be the same for not two things can exist in the same space. Even Molecularly speaking it is impossible. A cloned brain is a cloned brain, once conscious, lives and experiences a different life. Your brain is you. Mental health is as important as Physical health. Mental exercises, INTROSPECTION diet, and many more can be done to boost your daily mind.

@@akshajbist1518 there will be subconscious changes like how taste, feel, hearing etc. These are sensory experiences that EVERYONE experience Differently. Not because we are different but because once observed it is changed. Like the Schrödinger's experiment. You tasting smelling a kiwi would be a different experience from the perfect clone of you smelling that same kiwi right the second after. The kiwi's composition is ripe a second earlier and the brain chemistry of that clone is different from a second before. Making the Experience non-linear. Making the divergence of consciousness an exponential one even if it came from A perfect clone.
