I just upgraded to the Fujifilm X-H2S. I will use my Ninja V with the Fujifilm X-T3 and just use a CF express card on the X-H2S instead of buying one more Ninja. So Fujifilm saved me a lot of money by adding an CF express card holder to the camera. The one thing that I find very annoying with Atomos is that the list of supported SSD only contains very old and now very expensive SSDs. Many of them are no longer produced.

how much is a 512GB esata ssd on ur side of the world?
@andersolsen14784 күн бұрын
@@EwanLim An example. A Kingston DC500M 1,92 GB is on sale on Ebay Germany for 415 euros. There is only one seller for this item and he only have two in stock. These recommended SSD for Atomos have become terrible expensive as they are no longer produced. You are left with very expensive options from sellers which produce the SSD which does not stick out of the Ninja body. I can get a 2TB CF express card with 10 years guarantee for 515-530 euros from 5 sellers in Germany. Best prices use Geizhals or Idealo.

Yes I totally agree - theses days I am so used to shooting in 4K and 8K - which is why my key interest is using this as a viewer for cameras that don't have a better viewing option. On the FP L - I will recording to CinemaDNG - my gold standard now.

i don't have the ssd space for CinemaDNG. Unless I get higher paying clients. hahaha

@@EwanLim I use a Velocity Cine 128Gb Pro Master V90 Code 7419 SD card - it is the ONLY SD card which I have been able to record 8 bit CDNG - no real need for 12 bit.

I got a used ninja V (the older 5” version, not the update) for $200-300, and it can do pro res 4k, so the 1080p60 is a baffling choice for a $400 video monitor/recording. I get the new Átomos Ninja V (which retails for $600) isn’t in everyone’s budget, but I feel like getting a used version makes more sense than the Ninja phone.

Hi if i do t want to record and use it only as a monitor anydown side to it i can record on camera 4 k and 8 k
@EwanLim7 күн бұрын
brah. well… internally record 4k and record 8k in-camera while using it as a recorder? that would depend on ur camera. normally able to do it on Sony cameras. Canon gets a bit iffy.

Maybe they are afraid this will cannibalise the Ninja V+ - I can't stand those units - big and clunky with a FAN! I can't see any reason why they couldn't just dispense with HDMI and just use USB-C - now that would be true innovation. Good video Ewan!
@EwanLim2 ай бұрын
pretty sure cannibalising their other recorders is a concern. I gave it some thought and heating issues might be a possibility.

Wonder if this could be used just as a viewer for my Sigma FP without attaching a battery to the NP but instead USB-C power from camera or V-Power.
@EwanLim2 ай бұрын
You can actually. There’s another app that does this as well.

I meant using an app to tether iOS with FP L. the only thing I can find is capture 1. but it does not give live view for FP L. PITY

Wonder if 4K is a future firmware update? Seems to be quite the limit otherwise.
@EwanLim4 ай бұрын
i sure do hope so. most people still do stream in HD which is the market they seem to be aiming towards.
@DroseMrАй бұрын
Prob market strategy. How is streaming free on cell data or subscription? Does it have airglu timecode to connect to server record control to multi set up. If so would it limit your resolution on the other cameras?🤷🤔
@EwanLimАй бұрын
definite limit on other cameras. I think their idea is for people to connect to wifi.
