Great song. One of their best. Maurice gets to show off his falsetto and his bass. They were on top of their game.

This was the song the Bee gees discovered their Falsettos. The Producer asked the Bee gees if they could make like a screaming soiund or something. The Bee Gees kept Harmonizing Higher and Higher. They discovered they all could do it but that Barry could do it the Longest.

Kathiovercash said it just right. You'll never hear a bad song from these three. They are just phenomenal. Try going back farther. Their 1st number 1 hit Massachusetts from 1967 is a good one to start with. Also you can also try one of their later songs like Bodyguard from 1989.

I really want to make known that Mo (Maurice) didn't get the recognized as a good of singer as Barry and Robin was. It really bothers me because people didn't think Mo was a good singer because he didn't sing lead. The truth is Barry and Robin would clashed. So to keep the peace Mo decided to be part of the backup singer. Mo could sing in falsetto also but to keep the peace he didn't as much. But in this song you can hear him ad-libbing in falsetto in the end of the song. Mo would sing more lead in their last album. Closer Than Close, Walking On Air, Man in the Middle. He sang in his natural voice and he was a fantastic singer. Sometimes I believe Mo should be able to shine a little too. Please react to Mo's 3 songs if we are going to listen to the Bee Gees. Then it's only out of respect please let Mo shine too. I can donate just let me know how to do it. BTW I always give a thumbs up.

Since this was sung live, Maurice (playing bass guitar) had to sing the falsetto that Barry usually sang. All three brothers had tremendous vocal ranges.

Mo didn't sing falsetto he had a very high natural voice. If you listen to his interviews, he mentions it, he also had a low range that had a great country and western vibe, extremely talented brothers

@@lindajames978 - According to vocal experts, Barry had a 4 octave natural range. Robin a 5 octave natural range having the highest "natural" voice of the brothers and also a low register he seldom used with the group as in "When do I" and "Monday's Rain". I've not seen a really definitive categorisation for Maurice's range. His natural voice was lower, including his speaking voice, although he often sang their high harmony. In songs like "Hold her in your hand" he sounds more baritone than tenor but he could reach falsetto. I loved his voice in that song. All sang falsetto in different songs. Robin sang falsetto in "Living Together" and all three sang in a high vocal range in "Too much heaven". The word "falsetto" itself defines what it is, a "false" voice and not a voice in someone's natural range. All three were amazing.

@susieq9801 I love it when you comment Susieq you are so knowledgeable about all 3 brothers, only I do recall hearing Maurice say he could reach high notes but not falsetto, perhaps he just meant he couldn't hold a tune at that high level and yet Nights on Broadway clearly we can hear him covering high nots when it's sung live, but do you know what, I'm just so happy people are still listening and talking about them we know how happy that would have made dear Robin and Maurice, always a pleasure to be corrected, but I will try to find that interview with Maurice and post the link. @@lindajames978 - Hi Linda. I certainly believe you and didn't mean to "correct" you.😳Sorry if it came across like that. The key to vocal range is the word "natural". By definition, any man can do falsetto, a "false" voice outside of their natural range. That doesn't mean they can do it well or sustain it. Barry was excellent at it. Unfortunately I think it took a toll on his voice eventually because it strained his vocal chords. It would be like you or me screaming endlessly. We would end up being hoarse. Mo could reach those notes briefly but maybe he meant he couldn't sing an entire song like that. When Robin sang falsetto he sounded like a woman because his voice was so high naturally. In "Fanny" when he and Barry alternate falsetto near the end, Robin's is actually higher. It's all just in the definition. What do I know? LOL! Like you, I'm glad these guys are being heard by new generations. They were not respected as they should have been. I wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS and terrific 2024! Cheers!
