I was actually one of those Westerners that grew up in a Christian background, but I went away from it as a teenager and became an agnostic. God intervened in my life in many ways, and brought me to the place where I realized He was real and not just a vague spiritual idea. I pursued life my own way and ended up with severe depression and became suicidal. The only One who ever healed me and gave me life is Jesus Christ. There is a huge difference between just being religious and having a living relationship with God. He loves us, and created us to know and live for Him. If Christianity was just another dead religion, I wouldn't have bothered with it, I probably would have just been an atheist. But God is real, powerful, holy, and loving. We all, whether in the West or in Japan, have to get to the place where we realize we're sinners, that our sins separate us from God, and that Jesus Christ came to save us and reconcile us with God if we put our faith in Him. I've always loved Japan, and my prayer is that the Gospel would spread and that hearts would open to God.

Japanese only need to realize that Japanese buddhism offers a million times more wisdom than your doctrine, which basically just revolves around praising a guy in the sky cus he's strong. Dont try to corrupt Japan with your servile, arrogant desert cult when they have traditional beliefs that are vastly superior.

Actually Christianity is not a religion at all. It is a relationship just with Christ alone, if you look into religion you'll find that Catholics - Mormons - Baptist - Jehovah's Witnesses - Presbyterians - Lutheran's and many other denominations are religious fanatics that don't hold the gospels at the same level as Christ commands us to do. Picking up the cross and following Christ will separate you from all false ideologies and doctrines that come in the name of Christianity. Only one who is born again can understand this.

@@flatmoonsociety9933 Epic take bro did you know it was religion that gave you those gospels? If you say "yeah but God..." No, God used the Hebrew faith to codify his testament and then entrusted the safekeeping of the Word to gentiles through the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church is entirely the reason you have your bible.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Philippians 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Psalm 112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 1 Samuel 2:9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Luke 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. 1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. Proverbs 19:19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Isaiah 44:10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing? Deuteronomy 8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 1 Timothy 6:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. John 5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: Luke 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. .

sarttee blaming the religion for the actions of some of its wayward followers is pretty stupid. There are a great many bad "christians", yes, but not all of them or even a majority, it has largely been leadership of nations and the church. But if those individuals, and outsiders, understood the bible, and the fact that the only reason the old testament is included is to illustrate how God changed his approach to dealing with us, and really look at what Jesus taught and go by that alone when dealing with how to approach life, there is zero room for argument that Christianity in its untwisted form, is about forgiveness, love, and making a concerted effort every day to try and be a better person and be kind to your fellow man. Most christians fail to remember that judging others is God's right, and his alone, because none of us are perfect. The only one who was sacrificed himself to show us a better way. You don't even have to believe Christ was a real person, or that he was truly divine, or that there even is a god, to believe that his message of love, forgiveness, and not judging others is a noble one.

That means they are just liars, con-men, and irreligious people. Everyone with a rational brain would know even though they admit that they are religious, if they do bad things, then they are not religious, since religions teach how to act on a good conduct in life. They are just your usual liars, don't call them people that come from Christianity or other religions.

There are many kinds of Religion. As far as I know, if you're talking about rules in Christianity, then you're wrong. You should read again. At least for me, Christianity is what makes me move on from feeling like the most useless person in the world, to feeling like the person who can make anything possible.
@switchdv
@switchdv 6 жыл бұрын
You are wrong. That is *not* Christianity. You had the wrong knowledge in the first place. If you did have the right one, then I would've thought the same way. But I do not. You yourself think you're right with all your whatsoever knowledge. You don't know anything about Christianity. You have no place to say Christianity is in equal footing to devil worship and witchcraft. *It's you yourself who has been brainwashed by the evil itself to acknowledge that Christianity is evil* You, yourself, has been *fooled*. Furthermore, you are wrong about the "once saved, forever saved". The statement is right. There is no mistake about it. It's just you that didn't get the right mind to comprehend what that statement means. It's because you have been fooled by a mere stereotyped paradigm. "Once saved, forever saved" means if the person is saved by God, then he *IS* saved by God. There is no mistake about this. But if the person thinks he's already *saved* by God and thinks he's allowed to do evil, then obviously, like what everyone with a rational brain would know, *he is not saved* in the first place.

“Communism begins where atheism begins...”-Karl Marx "A Marxist must be a materialist, i. e., an enemy of religion, but a dialectical materialist, i. e., one who treats the struggle against religion not in an abstract way, not on the basis of remote, purely theoretical, never varying preaching, but in a concrete way, on the basis of the class struggle which is going on in practice and is educating the masses more and better than anything else could."-Vladimir Lenin "The purpose of the National Socialism fight against Christianity is the same: the total destruction of the last and most deep-rooted support of the forces of conservation. The destruction of the spirit of Christianity in Germany is certainly more far-reaching than appears on the surface...Such vestiges of living Christianity as remain are steadily degenerating in the direction of a superficial and unthinking deism" and that ultimate goal as "...the total abolition of Christianity, which is not a mere philosophical fad of the National Socialists but an iron necessity of their system."-Hermann Rauschning, The Revolution of Nihilism: Warning to the West, [Published 1938] "The Ethic of the German Religion condemns all belief in inherited sin, as well as the Jewish-Christian teaching of a fallen world. Such a teaching is not only non-Germanic and non-German, it is immoral and nonreligious. Whoever preaches this menaces the morality of the people."-The Twenty-Five Theses of the German Religion, Thesis XV "The Jews are not our enemies because of their race, but because one of their subtlest rabbis, that man called Saint Paul, distilled the poison of the Christ myth out of the life of the story of Jesus of Nazareth. The Jews are enemies of the Nordic race because they produced Christianity, which has been the poison that has destroyed the vitality of the Aryan people." -Erich Ludendorff “The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity’s illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity. Bolshevism practices a lie of the same nature, when it claims to bring liberty to men, whereas in reality it seeks only to enslave them. In the ancient world, the relations between men and gods were founded on an instinctive respect. It was a world enlightened by the idea of tolerance. Christianity was the first creed in the world to exterminate its adversaries in the name of love. Its key-note is intolerance.”--Adolf Hitler "The question of the divinity of Christ is ridiculous and inessential. A new answer has arisen as to what Christ and Christianity are: Adolph Hitler." --Hanns Kerrl, Minister of Religion in the Third Reich [1937] Ten minutes of reading and you will find that as soon as Hitler and the Nazi party took power the began persecuting the Catholic church and continued to do so until the end of the war. Another very brief reading session and you will discover that communism is inherently anti religion. The Chinese and the North Korea also use starvation as a method of mass genocide, because you know - it tends to look kind of bad when you shove 'em in a furnace... One who promotes false doctrine cannot claim to be of the same faith. This is very simple. Have a nice day. : )

Actually, Jesus' existence can be verified by numerous credible sources from his time. Don't just take my word for it. I was surprised to see this video. Well done Nobita. America was founded on Christian values, so I suppose many Americans would say that they are Christians, as they think this is the right thing to say when asked. However, the number of actual Christians has been decreasing over the years. I would like to see a video of an actual Christian church service in Japan. It would be interesting to see the difference between a western service and a Japanese one!

This video has me holding back tears of joy right now. I am a Protestant Christian as well as an American college student. As you can likely imagine, these are two social categories that are rather juxtaposed in the modern age, especially in America. It can be hard to stay faithful when your instincts are telling you to "stay with your herd", i.e. be agnostic or atheist like many other college students, or be a Christian in name only and not practice. I enjoy watching videos like this because observing the testimonies of other faithful Christians reinforces my own faith. It can make the ridicule of others a bit less painful. So thank you, Nobita, for making this wonderful video.

Walking the straight and narrow is not an easy choice but it is the most fulfilling choice I've ever made! Being a Christian in American college is hard. I was mocked by many including a few teachers. That really hurt me, but I knew that my faith in Jesus was more important then other people's opinions. So I got on my knees and asked God to take any fear or shame out of my heart. Now I'm completely unafraid and unashamed to tell the world about my King, Jesus! Some will mock us and treat us poorly but we'll still love them and proclaim our faith in the Lord!

Because even if you conformed to them you wouldn't truly be happy because it isn't what you believe or who you want to become. And anyway they'll just find something else to complain about if you do conform. So reach out and pray and get out your comfort zone a bit and you'll meet likeminded people that will help you grow in the way you desire to grow in Christ.

As someone in a similar position, I can tell you it's refreshing when you find other Christian students on campus. There will usually be some kind of organization where Christian students can study the Bible together, pray together, etc. Having such a group will keep you on the right track in spite of the temptations we endure on a college campus. I did some pretty regrettable stuff in college and I wish I joined such groups earlier, I didn't join any until my senior year. Joining these groups makes you feel like you're not alone when upholding Christianity, and I highly recommend it to any college students with good values.

Amusingly, even though Japan have only around 1-2 percent Christians, They have at least 6 Prime-ministers who are Christians, most of whom led Japan to it's peaceful Post-war era and led to it's great financial rise. A lot of them hide this fact so as to not hurt their political career or alienate their constituents. The last Japanese Christian I think is the Anime\Manga loving Taro Aso, who is now the present Deputy PM.

Sometimes Christians get persecuted because they share their faith. The reason why Christians share their faith is cause we are overwhelmed by God’s love and we want to spread & share it to others & experience that same love from God. A Pastor once explained it this way, if the plane you are on all of a sudden faces the possibility of crashing and the flight attendant tries to lead you the way out, would you trust that flight attendant & follow their direction? I think your answer would be yes, correct? With Christians we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is the truth and in the same analogy as the flight attendant , we would want everyone to have the same spiritual relationship with Jesus, experience God’s love and follow the truth. Now, we can only share, demonstrate God’s love by loving others but we cannot force anyone to accept our belief. We can only pray and hope that God will continue to pursue that person’s heart and still keep loving them. I hope that help shed some light as to why Christians share their faith.

Let's hope Nobita provides more videos. I lived in a rather small city, but the church was larger than described in this video--probably 200 people at mass on say, Easter Sunday. I would say the majority of Catholics there seem to be similar to cradle Catholics in other countries--lukewarm at best. Many Japanese seem to take a dim view of any kind of Christianity. Not fearful suspicion, as with Islam, but a mild contempt--"Yeah, we know you're just a bunch of hypocritical killjoys!" Of course, on the whole, they're not completely wrong. I wish I could say I gave them more reason to think better of us, especially us Catholics.

That's really sad, I wish here in Brazil it was better, thou it isn't. I am really disappointed with the clergy, because we Catholics have a very poor religious foundation, but I think we laymen should take the responsibility of converting profoundly our family and community. I am thinking about entering the seminary, but if that is not my vocation I'll try to became a catechist and I'll do my best to make our youth be faithful and well formed on the knowledge of the tradition. Wish our generation change that situation. May God bless you, and the holy Virgen intercede for you.

Paulo Ícaro I could say the same thing about the situation here in the Philippines. Even as a Catholic school product (and note Catholic education here sucks big time), I went Protestant for a while before I thankfully found a parish that led me straight and where Catechesis happens regularly. I make it a point to learn and review core theology just so I too could go out and teach the Faith. I've been thinking of joining the Jesuits for a while although I'm not too sure now if I could function best as a cleric or religious. But either way, I'd really love to educate folks on the Faith, especially in times like these when so-called Christian fundies are on the rise. The Chief Editor has the correct mindset about Christianity. This religion isn't forced on people, but sadly some people do that for proffit or because "they have to". Christianity respects other people's beliefs and culture. It shapes you to be kind, patient, giving and helping. Even if you do not believe in God, simply by listening and understanding means a lot. It's a poorly understood religion but I personally had no issues with people of other faiths or sects.
@MessagerOfHell
@MessagerOfHell 6 жыл бұрын
KrayolaBlue91 That is the wrong mindset. Christianity is not about accepting Jesus as your "Lord and Saviour". When you are baptized the priest asks you if you accept God in your life, that means the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit; the Holy Trinty that forms God. You agree that you might have done wrong in your life and you want to make amends, seek forgiveness and become a better person. If you die you aren't coming back, your soul is judged and passes in either sides; Heaven or Hell. Each life, soul, is unique in its own way. Coming back is an Indian belief, reincarnation; the cycle of life and death works in nature but it doesn't apply to the human soul. It was drawn from the fact that Jesus came back after He died and was sealed in a tomb. It wasn't reincarnation, it was ressurection, a rare miracle and not something that always happen. There are sects that call themselves "True Christians" or the like where the improvise prayers and spread lies. There's a difference in living in a coutry that's Christian and a country that has mixed faiths.
@MessagerOfHell
@MessagerOfHell 6 жыл бұрын
Allington Marakan You have to understand that Christianity, the power and teachings of God are based on love. God loves people too much to simply kill someone and holds on the chance that he will change no matter how blackened his/her heart is; but his patience isn't infinite so at some point He will punish that person in other ways that aren't always direct. You also have to remember the Unending War, the fight between Heaven and Hell. Attrocities, crimes, rapes, those acts are done by people because we as a people are too divided. It's not an evil that exists in us because God put it there, it's a weakness in our being that is exploited by the devil. The devil turns you worldly, so you become addicted, hateful, spiteful, you lust for things because they make you feel good in so many ways. Christianity helps you temper those things, it helps you defeat these phisical urges through faith and restraint. You don't have to whip yourself or mutilate your body to "prove your faith" or to prevent you from doing something wrong. When you are born you don't come in the world with a promisse from God saying "you will have ritches beyond measure and everything you'll ever wish for is yours". You live, you are trialed to see if you are kind or cruel, giving or greedy, patient or impatient. Each day holds a trial and they shape you slowly. So of course someone that's worldly would blame God or vent his/her anger saying that its "all God's fault this is happeneing". God doesn't shove you on top of a woman to rape her, and He doesn't tell you to wage war in His name because it's time for a purge. Even if you personally chose not to believe then that's alright, no one will blugedon you or judge you.
@MessagerOfHell
@MessagerOfHell 6 жыл бұрын
KrayolaBlue91 To answer your question no I'm not a priest nor Catholic. Reformed Christianity is a very large "sect" that says it somehow aligns itself with several churches in order to attract followers. You also have to understand that the versions of scriptures differ between religions, such as interpretations and even their version of the Bible. The Catholic church did most of the "smearing" since it was the first to speak againts other churches and became more political over the years. What you said in the beggining of your reply is also incorrect, what I've been taught is a wholy different lesson. "There is only one God. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." that is what we are taught and not what you said. When we pray we ask for forgiveness and the strength to pass our trials in our daily lives. We pray for those that are far from home, lost and those forgotten. I've also mentioned reincarnation since you said coming back after death, so I assumed you were talking about either reincarnation (which is realy popular with many people of various beliefs) or ressurection.
@MessagerOfHell
@MessagerOfHell 6 жыл бұрын
Allington Marakan Having no evidence is the core of believing and having faith. "How can you claim that your faith is strong and true if you are untested by doubt and others". There is anger in your words, a lot of it in fact. By our teachings you are a brother that has been broken by his life trials, your faith wasn't strong enough and you broke with no one to be by you. Even if you do not believe in a higher or God, it doesn't matter. It is a choice you have made and it is to be respected. But remember one last thing: "The greatest proof that God exists, is love."
@MessagerOfHell
@MessagerOfHell 6 жыл бұрын
PuraguCryostato I must contradict you that Christians don't have a "Pope". The term "Pope" is exclusive to the head of the Catholic church. The correct title for a Christian version of a "Pope" is known as "Patriarh" (pronounced pae-tri-arch by english speakers). I won't deny that there are issues nor the existence of individuals with narrow sight and closed minds. They usually have a very cold behaviour (to say the least) when it comes to other people. But the teachings of God say: "Be welcomed in my home. For my door is always open." There is no scrutiny on skin color, race nor genders. It would be a violation of the Scripture and the teachings.

Thank you so much Nobita-san for making this video. I'm a Filipino Christian ( in the Pentecostal side). Here in Cebu, Philippines we celebrate Jesus Reigns every November 30. It was 2017 as far as I remember, there were few Christian Japanese delegates who joined the celebration. I was happy at that time because there were Japanese nationals who celebrate with us and due to my lack of knowledge about Japanese Christians, I was in quite shock. Well, bless your day Sir Nobita.

I'm very impressed by the interview and comments on this video. As a half Japanese-Korean, I would like to say that Christians in Japan is very minor (less than 1 %)but they do have very sincere faith which impressed me a lot Korean church is also great , they sent a lot of missionaries to the world , volunteering at many countries in need for granted. If you've found difficulties to find a church in Japan, you might try Korean-Christian church there. Indeed, they all speak Japanese very fluently and some English (depends on the church) or there are few but very good catholic churches in Japan. My recommendation to understand Japanese Christianity - Miura Ayako (Protestant) Endo Shusaku (Catholic) Silence is very recommended book and also in film. As Japan has had very strong influence of Animism , multiple deities , gods some religion scholars saying that preaching christianity in Japan is hard cause they take Christ(One God, One saviour) just as one of the deity. Whereas Korea its neighbor country , has had 'One God' culture since the ancient times It was easier for Koreans to developing Christianity. I do cherish both point of view. God bless you all

1:45 This is so accurate. I am living in Japan and a vast majority of native Christians I'm acquainted with here spent some years of their lives in Anglophone countries and are fluent in English. Most aren't even born Christians or grew up with it btw, which means they picked it up when they lived in above countries. I guess knowing English helps them in learning the Bible because there are tons of expressions or concepts that either extremely hard to explain or simply nonexistent in Japanese. Heck even the Japanese Bible itself contains a lot of mistranslations compared to the English to original (i.e of Greek, Aramean, Hebrew languages) bibles.

I was waiting for one of these men to talk about their relationship with Jesus Christ. They didn't and I'm a bit dissapointed. Jesus Christ is the center of Christianity. I really want to visit Japan, and although I enjoy the Japanese culture (especially anime/video games), BUT as a born again Christian, I can't just leave my Japanese brothers and sisters hanging. For me to just visit and not talk to atleast one person about Jesus Christ (by being led by the holy spirit) would be shameful man...not when I have that peace in my life.

I have friends who are missionaries in Tokyo. They said that the Japanese culture teaches that you should not talk about deep, important things until you are in a very close relationship with someone for months or even years. So, if a Christian shares their faith too quickly, the impression to the Japanese is that your faith is not very important to you, because you spoke about it too quickly and openly.
@YukikosArt
@YukikosArt 4 жыл бұрын
Kim Guilliams hmm... very interesting. I knew Japanese culture is very private, and talking about feelings is hard even with close friends and such. That does make some roadblocks for sharing the gospel there, but I suppose there always are roadblocks. They just require prayer for wisdom and guidance.
@samurguy9906

Kim Guilliams I’m 3rd generation Japanese American and my brothers and I are still pretty reserved compared to everyone else here-it’s very ingrained in the culture, and so too in my family. If someone in an interview asked me about my personal religious inclinations, I’d be very uncomfortable. For one it’s just so personal, and second it’s very hard to explain something that deep in any satisfying way. Hell, my dad is as far as I can tell a faithful Catholic, but in contrast to my mom (who’s Irish descended) I really don’t know the details of his faith. I think the only really significant thing he told us was that after he saw a child being born (he’s a doctor), he couldn’t not believe in God (despite being raised Buddhist).

Allington Marakan There was nothing wrong with Jesus in himself. If the (in my mind people who had no business being in power) ordained emperor's of Rome and self righteous Kings and Queens didn't try to take over the world using Jesus name to do it for selfish gain, I'm pretty sure more of Japan would've been more than willing to accept Jesus at least as a noble guy in a wide spread fashion in that era. But bad people taint the image of anything no matter how good, and the Shogun did as he saw to be the best good to protect Japan and send the evil individuals in power a message, which sucks since they had innocent people suffer for no fault of their own.

I`m a Japanese citizen who has been studying English since I was a university student. (My major was not English though.) Through learning English, I found a lot of expressions and proverbs which originated from the Bible. I came to realize that English was a Judeo-Christian language, and knowing Christianity would be helpful to improve my English skills. The importance of English education is widely understood among Japanese people, so I hope we should have interests in Christianity. I don`t mean that Japanese people should convert themselves to Christianity because I think many Japanese people will find it very difficult to understand monotheistic nature of Christianity. But learning Christianity is very crucial for us to deepen our understanding of foreign people since there are at least 2,2 billion Christians in the world.

If I understand correctly, Jesus is respected as a great prophet among Islam people. Many Japanese people misunderstand that Islam and Christians are antagonizing each other, but it`s not true. From Islam point of view, Japanese are far different from Islam than Chiristians. I think Japanese people need to learn Judeo-Christian and Islam cultures as well as English in order to globarize oursleves.

I am a malaysian.I love being a christian. We had lots of activities at my church. We were devided into three. The children,teens,and youths. As a teen, i attend church every sunday from 8:40am-10:30am. Once church finish there is a caroling class, anyone can attend,you can attend you can get out. Then,for the teens and youths we have to go twice if you want. From 1:00pm-3:pm is the for teens. Seriously though, some did not go for the teen ones, they go for the normal church routine. But lots of us prefer attending all, because being in church is fun. We can praise god, play the piano, the drums. We can have activities every time. Talk with friends. And of course, my favourite one is the church camp. It is so much fun! Everyone just smiles and laughed. Even though we were tired by the end of the day, it felt so satisfying

I give my thanks for providing the time to record and create this video and to provide similar videos in the description, sir. I am concerned of the erroneous wanton view of what a Christian wedding is considered, as the purpose of the marriage is not for materialism or displaying an expensive show. The interviewees at 1:20 has me think of my situation as a child, except there my story is partially different. For me, despite that I knew at a young age a God exists, my interest going to a Church fluctuated since I was demanded to attend with no further explanation of "because I said so" or "we are supposed to." Despite the situation among many obstacles, I do believe that Christianity is the truth, as the Bible discusses the creation of life, be wary of evil spirits of various types and to be attentive of the signs when the world will end. If only the Heavens would be more assertive on helping mankind to know what is the truth and did not allow man created religions to form, as giving man the freedom of choice is a foolish decision and only resulted in what happening on Earth now.

Thank you for yet another thoughtful video, Nobita. You think of everything people may want to consider before coming to Japan. As a Christian living in America, when I went to Japan I once ran into a kindly old Japanese lady who was a Christian and knew that I was one, so she tried to speak English with me. Christians may be small in number and hard to find in Japan (another reason why it was thoughtful for you to have gone the extra mile to find these Christians you interviewed) but I intend to find a Japanese Christian girl if it's that last thing I do!

I have a friend who used to be buddist and he converted to christianity. I asked him why he just said he was observing me. How i lived my life as a christian. Dont get me wrong im not that devoted to christianity, i hardly go to church 😋😋😋 he just like the ideology of being a good neighbor to others, love thy enemy forgive etc... I look at him in the eye and told him, i am very happy for you for finding christ BUT. dont expect me to give you GOLD, FLOWERS or one divine party for you. Dont even expect that life will be better. Being a good christian is hard. Being a christian is like saying to yourself that *you have chosen another road, another path. You now begin to start a journey with jesus by your side. Come back to me after a few years and tell me again about you being a christian. If you experience hardship but still enlightened, if you started having question to your faith but you still ends up walking a dark tunnel of doubts if you feel the outmost pain and rage but still finds a way to forgive. Then my brother. You have truly found christianity 😊😊😊. And now 2018 he is still christian happy, singing and praising GOD.

I was raised as a practitioner of Nichiren Buddhism (Soka Gakkai International) which coincidentally has its roots in Japan, and I feel a similar sense of calm and steadfastness through my Buddhist practice. Not getting as easily wavered by the crests and troughs of life, but steadfastly moving forward. I think, regardless of religious faith or no faith, that's a good virtue to inculcate. I just discovered this channel by accident. Omg I love it! It's so interesting, because among all the cultures of the world, I find it difficult to really get a sense of Asian (that's the best word I have, sorry) cultures. I have always been interested in getting to know the mentalities and attitudes of, for example, the Japanese and Chinese cultures. I have known many, many Asian people in America, but most of them were Americans too. And then with the Asians I've met who were not from America, there was a language barrier, so I could only get to know them personally a little bit, if it all. I speak three languages and I am certainly not uncultured (especially for an American lol). But I know nothing about these Asian language families. So for me, the languages make the cultures seem extra alien and inaccessible for some reason. Japan seems to have a fascinating culture and I've always wanted some insight into it. This channel is really neat!

the stereotype mindset is present as frequently discussed in the video. the mangas u read relating to churches, nuns, and catholic stuff is not there because the manga artist thinks he wants to make the japanese audience familiar but it is because the manga artist wants to portray something exotic and fancy to the japanese viewer. you even see the common japanese stereotypical view at it in anime and manga. christianity is usually seen like dark scary black and white catholics with fancy looking gothic churches and sound like some sort of scary cult

As not a Christian I somehow don't care about religions as long as people are not trying to convert me. But the thing at the beginning. About Japanese women that prefer to have Christian wedding... White dresses~! This is the only reason. It's not even connected in any way with Christianity :D It's just a fashion. But there are a few more things: Christian wedding is more expensive than Shinto wedding in Japan. After people will get Christian wedding in Japan, they don't really learn anything more about the religion itself. Usually, when Japanese die, the funeral ceremony is... Buddhist. According to 2007 statistics, 99.81% of deceased Japanese are cremated. 91% of funerals are conducted as Buddhist ceremonies. TL;DR: Usually Japanese are Shintoists at the beginning, they get married as Christians and they die as Buddhists. Or in short: 90% probably don't even care. Peace!

Don't force your love on me :D That would be gay. But to be honest. My brother believes in god, he doesn't go to the church, yet a Baptist priest is telling him that he is doing wrong, that he should go to the church, and at the same time he is telling him that God's logic is above human's logic which is... unlogical. Because then our logic is useless. That priest is saying as well that everything we do is planned by God, every good and bad things, is made by him, so where is the logic here? That is why I will disagree with any type of community.

Tell that to Baptist priests, they will argue with you. Because in the end, all communities will disagree with something. And that is why, I will never convert and I won't care much about your religions :D

To be honest, a name of "religion" doesn't matter to me. It's just created by people. I won't say that God is right. Logic is right. Because Logic is Logic. For me, there is nothing to believe in. But if you would insist, I could believe in porn and food. Because why not. I live every day as I want to live and I don't care if there is something or there is not. Usually, people believe in something when they have hard times and then something good happens, they say it's because of god. I won't say that :D I am just enjoying my life fully without caring if there is heaven, hell, whatever, if I will die, I will die, the end. Nothing more. I won't care when I will die. Simple :D So why would I need to have any religion?:D Just to believe that after... 80-90 years I will die and live somewhere else? It would be silly.

Yep. "Christian weddings" is a huge misnomer because most Japanese people actually refer to these types of wedding gown weddings as "western style" or something akin to that. Whenever I hear from Japanese peers who want to get married, they talk about what kind of dress they want to wear.

Christianity is hands down the best Abrahamic religion. If there's one element of western culture allowed in japan, I'd prefer it to be Christianity. I don't expect it to ever take the place of Shinto/Buddhist thought but I believe it would do just fine as a minority considering the Japanese temperament. Christianity teaches to love all people, to put others before yourself, and to treat others how you would like to be treated. In my opinion this meshes well with the unique Japanese investment in harmony and social cohesion. I could see christianity in japan being a bulwark against modernity and of other detrimental cultural attributes of the west. Great video, Nobita!

You asked such great questions that drew out such great insights! Thank you, and of course thank you to your guests for sharing their experiences. Before I came to Japan, I of course knew of the 1% Christian statistic, so I was quite surprised to meet so many faithful, active Christians. Of course, numbers are small, but definitely more than I originally thought. I've since heard so many stories/testimonies from so many different Japanese Christians, and am often very humbled that. Your guests were absolutely right that as a Christian from a foreign country, it's quite a 'culture shock' to be in Japanese church. I would say, I had more trouble adjusting to the church than society in general. But that has also caused me to remember that no matter the 'culture' of our church, we are one family in Christ.

Well done video. It answers some of my questions about how Christ is shared or viewed in Japan. I feel some lessons are missing since the central reason for the Bible and faith is to bring unification of us to God the Father through His Son Jesus but overall I enjoyed this video and the publisher is right about the negative view of Christians in media. It happens here in USA also and I see it in anime that I watch. It is never correct in anime.

Allington Marakan I've been reading other comments you made to other people. I can tell your hostile to people and only insult. You lost credibility and any debate you wanted by insulting and you don't use reasoned logic because the data you use, claiming it proves there is no God only proves man is evil and not God. If you do comment I am sure it is to insult me more and ignore any reasonable discussion. All the comments I see from you on other posts only is to insult and cause arguments which is not helpful.

Allington Marakan again lies. Typical response you made. You are spreading lies. Hitler and the Nazis were not Christians and even if some professed you know reading the Bible that murdering of innocent people is evil. They murdered innocent people like the Jews and that is not Jesus teachings. Just like Communism, Nazis eventually wanted religion gone. Everything they believed was based on humanism and socialism which is similar and leads to Communism which has killed more than all religions. This is well documented and college and universities have done research into it too. All evil comes from men, not God. Communism is supposed to be void of religion and other vices for a utopia state, it's based on Atheism and Agnostic but has killed more than all religions. Nazis come in a far second with Socialism. All created by man. You are on here spreading lies, making insults, and creating arguments for fun.

I am a christian myself. I live in Costa Rica and have been following your channel for a while now. I saw a video of another guy saying that Japan has very few believers. After watching this I feel happy that there are a few christian brothers there and people who trust God and put their hopes upon Him. Knowing God and living in this faith is a lifelong journey, it's not something that you can grasp and understand just by reading books...not even the Bible. There's much more to it than meets the eye but sure having this hope gives you strength to keep going. This is the first time I comment on any of your videos! I am also planning to visit Japan someday. I am now struggling with learning a few words and phrases... haha. Keep up the good work man!

I enjoyed the video, Nobita. I have to admit I have not been watching your videos lately because of the strong negativity. There for a time it seemed like every video had a war like battle. In my daily occupation that is almost the only thing I see everyday. This video was very informative and had a peacefulness about it. I was able to take in the pure, peaceful, gentle conversations that had mercy, good results, without favoring one side, and falseness of character. We all know what happens to our natural bodies, but the spirit inside of them that drives the body is another matter.
