It's a solid choice.

I can say that I've never seen a bad box, regardless of brand. Even the Husky and US General boxes are good. All boxes have weight capactities, so as long as you don't overload them, they last a long time.

Every brand has a quality offering. I have seen every one in shops for years: US General, Icon, International, Homak, Extreme, Montezuma, Tool Vault, Kennedy, Snap-On, Matco, Mac, Monster, Cornwell, Waterloo, Husky and Milwaukee. They are all fine quality. It's tough to do a side-by-side of all brands and models, but suffice to say the light duty offerings by each brand are comperable in quality, as are the medium- and heavy duty offerings. The differences are preferential when deciding what you want for power, accessories, lighting and color choice. I have never seen any box of any brand experience a structural failure. I have seen casters de-laminate on Mac, Matco and Snap-On boxes. I've seen locks fail on Matco and Snap-On boxes. I've seen drawer slides fail on Snap-On and Matco boxes due mainly to neglect, and I've seen one brand new Snap-On box where the spray-on liner on the top didn't adhere properly, bubble up and peel off. I've seen some of the sliding plastic drawer latches on Snap-On boxes fail and some of the adjustable thumb turn catches fail on Matco boxes like the one on the box in this video. Snap-On and Matco boxes, in my opinion, have the nicest features like built-in power and color options. The new Revel line from Matco is particularly beautiful. But I believe they are overpriced. And I do not believe spending more money on tool storage than your average car is money well spent. Mac and Cornwell (made by Kennedy, which is owned by Cornwell) haven't kept pace with their feature offerings and look more utilitarian. Their new medium and heavy duty boxes are rather expensive for lacking so many features. Homak boxes are very basic, like the US General boxes are. No bells and whistles. Strictly tool storage. Husky from Home Depot have surprisingly nice features and are priced attractively, but are pretty light duty. But I know many techs who own them and never had a problem. I'm shocked at how nice the Icon line from Harbor Freight is. Excellent quality and rather heavy duty on their larger boxes. So if I were to make a recommendation for purchasing new and money wasn't a huge consideration: Light/Medium Duty - Husky from Home Depot. Medium Duty - Icon from Harbor Freight or Extreme RX series Heavy Duty - Extreme Pro-series from Strictlytoolboxes.com My recommendation for tight budgets and brand new technicians: Husky from Home Depot or US General from Harbor Freight You gave me an idea for another video! Thanks for the reply. I've seen all the big names throughout the years but not really any of the companies like extreme or homak. I'd have to say I was the most impressed by an older macsimizer but the guy sold it before I could make arrangements. I'm pretty set on storage and don't see myself needing another box. I do like to keep up on what's out there and hearing different opinions though

@@gregblau8082 I think the older Macsimizers are built very well. Better than many of the boxes today. I know a few people with older ones and they hold up.

I take them on trade or, like this one in particular, sell them on consignment for the owners.

You probably won't believe the truth, since it is stranger than fiction. But the fact is he asked me to sell the box on consignment because he bought a 41" US General box that he's using instead. You read that correctly.

@@CoyleTools sounds like a case of buyer's remorse. Either do to the price or drawer configuration. I have even seen something like this when the toolbox owner and the tool dealer have a falling out. Have you seen the u-tub channel Jimmy making it work. He sold is Snap-on epic toolbox's and bought harbor freight icon toolboxes 🧰 to replace them.

@@CoyleToolsI love my 44" USGeneral. Got the side locker before they were discontinued and a side cabinet. It has room to expand with a top box, as well.
