To this day, I still stand by Lesnar and Goldberg should've been paid their royalties to get put in SVR, shoot you even made a great case that Steiner should've been in too. As much as this roster was a gut punch, it was still a good entry to the overall franchise. Great roster video and also, nice Scott Steiner CAW lol.

I can see why Steiner , Lesnar and Goldberg din't appear but having Lita and Austin out was huge L in that game.

It's surprising they really didn't included The Hurricane I didn't realize much when it released that year. Hell even surprised Lita wasn't in this game, she was one of the top elites to the Woman's Division alongside Trish Stratus they were the Stone Cold & The Rock of the female side. It's mind blowing they really was missing a lot of Superstars to think bout it.

Why they couldn’t just copy and paste the roster from here comes the pain through svr like brah literally idk why in here comes the pain they had 64 characters and when svr came out only 52 like wtf🤨

I always felt like despite lesnar and Goldberg leaving at wrestlemania they still should have been part of the main roster and Austin and lita should have definitely made the cut like wtf yeah Austin left that year but damn Stone cold not in a wwe game oh hell naw

In addition To Billy Kidman , Jamie Noble was excluded from a lot of the Wwe games for some reason. I think Lita should of been included in Svr also . I also think they should of included Test, Nunzio , Johnny Stamboli ,Billy Gunn , Eugene and William Regal aswell.

The first SVR was a good game in its own right but man it was also a huge letdown from HCTP.

I remember not being able to play any games between Smackdown 1 -Shut your mouth either because I didn’t have have the right game system or I didn’t know about them ..

My biggest omission was definitely my fave Lita. Her not being included still baffles me given she was the most popular woman in WWE. WWE included her in SYM & HCTP (WMX8, WMXIX, & RAW 2 as well) which were developed and released while she was injured. I had a pretty nice Lita CAW that I used back in the day and still is on my memory card til this today. 🤣 Interestingly enough I look a bit fondly on the first SVR if only because I feel like they perfected the late SD/early SVR controls, I hated the changes they made to SVR2006. Also while they started the restrictions on the divas in matches, they didn’t take everything away like they did from SVR2006 on. All these years later I made the CAWs for all the ladies omitted so I have a lot of fun playing it now. 🤣 So interesting I always that this was game was a bit of parallel to JBI in that JBI was the first SD game on PS2 and it was underwhelming compared to the previous game SD2, SVR was the first game of the SVR franchise but it was an underwhelming entry compared to the GOAT release HCTP.

Cmon now 😭 I really wish he had been in the game; Dude literally got released THE DAY BEFORE the game came out on Nov 1, 2004 and the game was released Nov 2, 2004. Even A-Train was in the game and he got released together with Test and Billy Gunn! And thats another wrestler too, Billy Gunn. SMH I would’ve preferred Test or Mr. Ass Billy Gunn over A-Train any day 🤦‍♂️

Why THQ despite having great games have terrible and not updating they're roster in those games.

No Brock No Steiner No Nash No Goldberg No Hogan No Austin Definitely is the black sheep of the franchise

This is a rough roster because it was the roughest year for the WWE since the Monday Night Wars, Lesnar, Austin, Rock, Goldberg, Nash, and Steiner all being gone, plus Test, Rkishi, and A-Train before the summer was out, man you felt it on tv. This games roster does as well. Lita Eugene & William Regal La Resistance Spike Dudley Rosey and Hurricane Billy Gunn Miss Jackie and Chavo Sr. all would have been names I added to this. Also because while I do enjoy Smackdown vs Raw 06 the store mode is very dated as you are dealing with a Shelton Benjamin off a recent Triple H win, William Regal and Eugene being tag champs and chased by Christian and Trish Stratus, John Cena is the U.S. champ not WWE champ. I get not having Kenzo and Carlito as Kenzo debut in July while Carlito debuted in like October or November so that's way down the line.

Orlando Jordan, Hurricane & Rosey, Kidman, Nobel, Lita, The Bashams, & La Résistance should have be on there. Lesnar as a legend. Also felt like there should have been alternate attire for a lot of them Taker (Badass) Jericho (hair down and more modern tights he hadn’t worn those purple one’s in years) Angle (any kind, always hated his attire in this game lol) Rock (Hollywood, he had it in DoR) Mankind (Mick Foley/Cactus Jack) Molly Holly (Bald) I liked this game growing up but it was a little let down after HCTP

La Resistance got screwed in general for all the games in 2003 and 2004. They were pretty decently pushed during those years and only Renee Dupree appeared in the original SvR. None of them were in the 2003 games when they were especially prominent. And then you get both Conway and Grenier in SvR06 after the group was pretty much done and Dupree was out of the company.

The fact they left Austin and Austin out from the game despite them being on the roster in 03-04 like wtf

This game is technically good like the gameplay is fun but it’s so disappointing compared to HCTP, they took out some of the cool wrestlers,backstage areas and the season mode is forgettable

I don't care sounding stupid.. Royal Rumble 2014 was CM Punk's last match. "10" years later his return match will be at the Royal Rumble 2024. Royal Rumble 2004 was Scott Steiner's last WWE match maybe 20 years later?
