I like the idea of a nuanced take on Talia. I feel like the popular image of her is a completely villainous one, where many people seem to believe she r-words Bruce. I think it’s written that way in at least one story, but like that person was saying in their thread, there are other takes on her that are not so villainous. I hope we get a complex and morally grey Talia who has a really good reason to bring Damian to Bruce and isn’t just being a bad mom abandoning her kid.

Robins shouldn't be in dark iterations of the caped crusader. It's out of character for batman to have robins. If it's a campy light hearted story robins can be present.

Exploring Talia's relationship will show a different side of Batman's character, which until now we only saw in comics and animation. If James Gunn wants to make his Batman different, choosing Talia over Catwoman remains the only smart move.

What I love about Gunn and the main reason why Im excited for his DCU is his passion of taking the lesser known characters and giving them the spotlight. Hell, after Peacemaker I'll believe that characters like Killer Moth can get spin offs now (A killer moth tv show would be awesome). Comparing it to Spiderman's Qwen Stacy and MJ, they can make Talia a big character once more, and she could be the main love interest to Batman in this universe while Catwoman is the love interest in Matt Reeves' trilogy. The DCU's Catwoman has the freedom to join the Gotham City Sirens for a bit.

I'll be honest, i don't like trunks. At least, i don't like the ones that look like boxers. The briefs/speedo versions look more like Superman to me. Though i must admit, if the movie was set in the golden age or something the more boxers-style trunks would work there.

I do think that Gunn could be saying other scripts are done, but implying episodes are complete for Waller or Lanterns, but not the entire series. I'd love to be surprised if anything else is that far along.

If the superman suit is to be made of a thin fabric material, the trunks will definitely make sense as they will serve the same purpose as the inspiration for them, namely the old timey strongman outfits, and thus they will protect our blue boy's dignity and keep him from exposing his privates for all the world to see

I think that Grant Morrison explained Superman’s suit (and by extension the trunks) well. He compared it to “a patriotic Scotsman wearing a kilt,” and that’s honestly a pretty great analogy for it. Who gives a shit if it looks “ridiculous” or “stupid,” it’s the clothes of his people. I imagine the Superman uniform is just something that people would wear on Krypton, similar to (circling back to Grant Morrison) how Scotsmen used to wear kilts as normal clothes. Sorry for the long comment but I really like the trunks, and that argument has actually convinced a few trunkphobes (patent pending) to switch sides.

Sorry for being late to the party but id like to pour my thoughts in anyways. There's a lot to say so its not very well organised so please bare with me. I think there are 2 layers to the analysis. Firstly, the hesitation of the audience of having two Live action batmen simultaneously. It bringd about a certain set of challenges. But it seems by the looks of it that the studio recognizes these risks and is prepared to address them head on. So what are these challenges; well of u want the Audience to be invested into 2 different live action portrayals of the character, u need to assure them that they'll get 2 different and unique experiences with both the versions. I believe James Gunn has taken the right initial steps to tackle this hurdle. By introducing a Batman who is clearly at a different stage of his career as compared to Pattinson. Id actually compare David Cornswets Superman to Pattinson's Batman in terms of the time that has passed since they have dawned their respective mantles. The DCU Batman is nearly a decade into being the caped crusader and so that's clearly a difference. Secondly, other since Reeves verse focused on more grounded stories in that his threats weren't ppl who derived their powers from some fantastical source. Since this Batman exists in the greater DCU and is already years into his journey, we have access to a wider rogue gallery to choose from. Other than the bat family, i want this Batman to have a certain mystery surrounding him. It shld feel that this version has had a loaded past and that should reflect in his conduct nd how he views the world. I would want the narrative flow to juggle between the present and the past. So that we can get flashbacks into all that has happened in his life before our introduction. But this shld be done strategically. Slowly unravel the elements of his past which have a direct consequence in the present and the ghosts frm his past that he has to confront again. In this way we might also get dick Grayson's intro and his initial adventures with him. My personal approach wld be to introduce Bruce at the end of the Arkham series. Since that is the most hellish part of sn already grim Gotham City. So as an audience, we'd be left with several questions about how exactly Batman ended up in Arkham and we can explore this on his own movie.

I don’t think Swamp Thing will be a hot minute. There’s no reason to assume Mangold’s Star Wars is prioritized ahead of Swamp Thing. ST was announced first and Lucasfilm won’t want his SW movie until 2027 at the soonest. Meanwhile A Complete Nobody should be a relatively quick shoot and post production. Mangold will have like two years free. And we know he started writing Swamp Thing a very long time ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if Swamp Thing is one of the scripts that’s finished.
