Yeah, it comes up in the movie "Gladiator" if you've ever seen that. The Roman afterlife Elysium is basically implied as a field of grain I want to say in some sources.

The Roman legend of Cincinnaticus is the basis of this desire. Cincinnaticus was a general and twice-dictator of Rome, but both times gave up his power and went back to his farm once the threat to the city was over. He was the model of civic virtue for Romans (later George Washington deliberately copied him as an example for Americans). Definitely Guilliman was thinking of Cincinnaticus.

Gman wanting to peasantmaxx reminds me of the Roman emperor Diocletian, who also retired and started farming. He's famous for that quote where he responds to pleas for him to return to the throne by saying something along the lines of "look at these cabbages I grew, bro. are you serious?".

I remember reading Russ's plan for when the crusade was finished, he wanted to plant with leagion in all the worlds surroinding the eye of terror to make a shield around it so anything that comes out of it dies, so his leagion would still get to fight.

@@alexbrinzan9061 Chaos gods wouldn't exist but the daemons would still happen, things would still come out in a small trickle. There are worse things in the deep warp than the Chaos Gods. Big E even mentions it. Most don't care about us...but the stronger Chaos gets the more those things can 'see' our universe and the more likely they are to start getting involved. The Chaos Gods are also TERRIFIED of those deep warp beings. Which is why they also intentionally appear to screw over their own forces. As if getting too much power too quickly will bring the attention of things that could snuff them out of existence easily.

I love how Ferrus wanted to remove the metal from his hands and return to his Medusan roots. Asirnoth’s metal did make him a lot stronger, more durable, and probably influenced his inventiveness and temper, but it took away Ferrus’s ability to improve his strength further. A truly grim existence when you think about it.

@@nolanbaker2360 Asirnoth is the name of the Silver wyrm (the gigantic metal dragon construct) that Ferrus Manus hunted and killed for his formative years on Medusa. The primary theory is that it was Necron tech, but I prefer the more evidence based theory that it was a corrupted Man of Iron.

@@nolanbaker2360 Ferrus destroyed/absorbed a C'tan shard, giving him the metal arms; that's Asirnoth. The easiest way to think of it is like this: Ferrus is the C'tan equal of a Daemon Primarch. Ferrus was given Necron living metal, while the Daemon Primarchs are given Warp energy. The Primarchs each had warp powers unique to them, which were taken away/twisted when the traitors became daemons. It would be a similar case with Ferrus.

As the saying goes "Too many chefs in the kitchen." except replace chef with writer. 40K is a setting with an overarching story associated with it. Problem is that the writers don't share the same vision of what it is supposed to look like which leads to conflicting versions of the same reality. A creator who sees the primarchs as tools. A father who loves his children. Two versions with completely different emotional states.

Side note: Voxcast to Nowhere posted a very entertaining video where a few of the Primarchs get stoned together & discuss what they wanted to do after the Great Crusade. Lehman Russ wanted to have a feast & party. Lion El’Johnson wanted to strip down & go hunting in the woods. Corvus Corax wanted to go to Chogoris (at Jaghatai’s suggestion) and perch on a mountaintop like a bird (because of course he does). Perturabo…well, first he had a bad trip…and then he said he wants to build a perfect city / society.

Nurgle would get *Very* into growing more. Slaanesh would get the ultimate munchies and probably go searching the universe for the ultimate piece of cheesecake or cheetos. And Tzeentch, would have endless high discussions on the nature of anything and everything. In the end, the chaos gods would be neutralized as long as they had access to the ultra-herb. ... so i have been a 40k lore fan since highschool but i found this channel back when i was homeless during covid. reading comments, seeing the occassional mini painted, watching you tell us about theories and lore developments, gave me a sense of community at a time when i felt very alone. you are very supportive of your community as well, being encouraging and engaging, even when picking which shit to hawk for which sponsor. four years later and i am clean, have a very well paying job, my own place, a new degree, and have begun working on getting my physical health back together after the horrible things ive done to it. Since i found this channel i have had a simple ambition, that i become stable and successful enough so that some day anytime i see majorkill hawking some absolutely ridiculous shit, i can buy it. im not there yet, but i will not stop till i am.

I figured if he'd found them broken without knowing then piecing them together might be more worthwhile than if he did know. Cause if he did decide to worship the C'tan it wouldn't seem worth it if he does manage to pull it off and the Necrons just shatter them again, or if he manages to deal with them then Big E shattering them

7:33, I think what GW are doing with Guilliman wanting to become a farmer after the great crusade is trying to tap into the great ancient Roman dictators. Where they would take absolute power during a time of war, and upon peace being declared, they would cede power back to the senate.

Damn, imagine the storyline in that universe. Alpha legion accidentally discovering lorgar Ctan ~bodypillows~ shards during one of their "tests" which they reported to corvus who is now a warp monster. And have like the current story of Big E becoming a frail old man after donating all his power to Magnus so he could stop the C'tan shards from truly unifying, several primarch defecting to C'tan which made them metallic like the necrons i guess

Pertie was supposed to be an architect and scholar. If we are to believe Fulgrim's warp-visions / mental seduction in the final battle in Angel Exterminatus; Fulgrim said he looked into Perturabo's soul and saw the yearning to design and build the perfect city, made to serve people, not industry. Majorkill. Could you do a video on the events leading up to the ultradads resurrection? So like the fights beforehand, the moment it happened and the general atmosphere of the mentioned events. I feel like you would be able to convey the events and the atmosphere of the situation really really well. I imagine Purterado and Vulcan would end up with a stronger relationship due to Vulcan enjoying smithing and Perturado respecting his ability to craft, he did after all ask Vulcan to make the tiny warlord titan model for him and Vulcan did just that. Would Lorgar get desperate enough to worship the Eldar gods? because at least two would still be around. I could imagine potentially post-crusade he gets desperate enough to go to the eldar so he could worship their gods, so more like he could end up worshipping Isha, the eldar themselves would probably be a bit confused and off put by this but I don't necessarily see them turning him away.

I would absolutely read books set in that alternate timeline where all of the primarchs preceded in this manner. The incredible tragedy of the Horace heresy is such a sharp thorn in the entire series that it's strangely nostalgic and comforting to experience the alternate path where everything went as planned. If I remember correctly sanguinius actually had a semi interview with a remembrancer that found out the truth about the red thirst and he actually encouraged him to tell everyone the truth about the blood angels but after everything was over. Sanguinius also mentioned that he did intend on bringing up the red thirst to the emperor in hopes of getting him to help find the cure.

The more i see these potential futures, the more I'd love to see whole franchise around this idea, because the Necrons would still awaken, the Terranids would still swing by, and who knows what else is out there in the universe. If it's another race able to travel between galaxies, it would be definitely powerful enough to fight peak humanity.

No it would not. Horus pushed Perty into a war with a xenos that was at least 3 legion task knowing Perty would not ask for help and get frustrated with the weakness of his sons and the lack of new rectuits. Olympia was bled dry of its sons due to this. Horus caused the purge. Chaos corrupted Horus to be exact.

I think the Lion would also probably take his Legion and roam the galaxy looking for threats. Remember that Zabriel believed that the only thing that would break the Lion's spirit would be when there were no battles that needed him anymore. Retirement would be... difficult
