Haley is uninformed about guns and made the US look bad by claiming it has no good background checks. The US has background checks that prevent felons and domestic abusers from owning guns. The US is a collection of states with their own laws like the EU, so some states have stricter gun laws like assault weapons bans and limiting magazines to 10 rounds. The reason the US has a high prevelance of gun ownership is that guns are viewed as a legitimate form of self-defense, and the US started as a frontier society with hostile natives and dangerous wildlife. Americans had to survive on their own devices without the aid of a European colonial power. This fostered a culture of self-relience that Europeans didn't need.

📌 Yes, everyone should keep in mind these are very young individuals. Taxes, guns, and healthcare are incredibly complex topics - probably ones to skip during a first meeting. 📌 In the US, health insurance can be expensive, but keep in mind the majority of Americans pay zero federal taxes and no one is ever refused care because they can't afford it. We have the option of spending some of that saved money on health insurance. Also, We do in fact have a "free" healthcare system in place to cover elderly, younger people with disabilities, and low income. Our expensive healthcare also subsidizes medical care for the entire planet. If the federal government ever takes over healthcare, all humans will suffer. 📌 Guns are seen as tools, similar to the way you see a screwdriver or hammer. We keep them locked up and out of reach when not in use, in the same way you would keep a power saw out of the hands of children. However, they are accessible when needed. In the US, if there is an intruder breaking in, we can simply pull out a gun and solve the problem, as opposed to just laying down, getting raped and possibly murdered. "Gun Violence" (outside of a few big-city gang areas, that are completely avoidable) is a myth created by the media to push political agendas. Significantly more people are killed by hands, feet, and knives than guns. The numbers are not even close.

The amount you pay in taxes to have your insurance in most European countries is still lower on average than medical costs in the US. It varies from country to country and between US states, but some estimates I’ve seen are that the US person would pay about 2x to 3x more for their medical care than the European person would (including taxes allocated to healthcare).

Ambulance is strange, in my town they don't charge you, but will bill and take your insurance. Where I worked as a nurse the local township provides it for their town and surrounding if they share resources. If not they charge $75 and whatever insurance you have, if they get paid in full they mail you a check back. It's different in other states and other parts of my state New Jersey. They're a lot of volunteer EMS which don't charge at all but will bill your insurance. I agree the US system sucks, and I'm a ER nurse. My wife was a pharmacist. For a long time we had two insurances, which is rare, and except for pharmacy co pays, paid nothing. The other insurance picks up the co pays. So even if you paid it, you get a refund in a few months. Again this is rare. Like the young American woman, my daughters stayed on my insurance till they were 26, my oldest has hers through work, and my youngest 25 years old graduated from pharmacy school and her hospital that she works for provides it to her and her husband, who oddly is like full time NJ National Guard recently and they provide insurance as well for both as long as he's active duty. Years ago I lived in Germany in the USAF and liked their system, I think that is the way the US should go. Somewhat a mixture of private and government.

Sexuality in America is an interesting topic. There are some dense pockets of liberal America where it is very common to find sex positive communities, like in the pacific north west. On the other hand, where I grew up in the suburbs of Philedelphia, talking about sex openly wasn't common. It was kinda taboo to talk about and shameful if people knew it was happening without a committed relationship. It was always a private affair and sexual acts were to be only between married couples. In the pacific northwest it is easy to bring up your sexual interests and expectations with dates, because there is a lot of value on open consent. Its super common to find people here in long term relationships who are seeking additional sexual partners without it being a secret or shameful.

As a foreigner who studied in US I find American sex culture very confusing, they tend to go to the extremes a lot. Having sex in high school is usually considered problematic (in Europe it’s ok, many people get into relationships in high school and you have lots of sex education at that age). Then somehow when they go to college they are pressured to attend the big parties and they have the “hook-up” culture where you need to sleep with a few people per week just for the experience which I never understood. Then when people graduate university suddenly everyone starts to get married quickly and overall I find Americans marrying much earlier than Europeans do. Sometimes in Europe people just co-habit and don’t rush into marriage at all. I still have no idea how American people can go from one extreme to the other so quickly. But this is my environment (which may be rich white people) so it may not be representative.

Something for all the Europeans watching this video. The information about firearms from the woman from California is completely wrong. Every firearm purchaser in America must undergo a background check. This background check is accomplished by the FBI. The seller is a registered FFL dealer. FFL is Federal Firearms License holder to sell firearms. With three classes of firearms that can be sold by the dealer. The initial background check is for typical firearms. Semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, semi-automatic rifles, bolt action rifles and all shotguns. Suppressors are restricted to a separate background check. It may take up to a year to actually get a suppressor. Any select fire fully automatic firearm is absolutely forbidden in some states. Very expensive to purchase even if you can find one that has been registered. A separate transfer tax is required for all suppressors, short barreled rifles and shotguns. And a very unique process for obtaining a fully automatic firearm. This is only processes done by the national, Federal government. Some states have additional restrictions. It is very difficult to aquire a full automatic firearm. Don't listen to people like the women from California. Besides, when she was asked "what is your favorite American food" she answered burritos. Burritos are Mexican, not American. Tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas are examples of Mexican food. For those that have plans to visit America. Stay away from the typical tourist trap areas. Disneyland and Disney World are examples. A one day ticket can cost $500 each. To get an understanding of America go to Colonial Williamsburg, 101 Visitor Center Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23185. A very educational place to learn of the earliest days of America. You will understand why Americans are so individualistic. Then go to Washington DC to visit the Capital ground and monuments. Too many visitors really never see America when visiting. Disneyland is not what I call America. That garbage is a fantasyland. Just another place to take your money.

I wish the people who make these videos about America would have older Americans in these videos. Young people in their 20s do not own anything nor do they have real career jobs. They just think that the government should control everything and tax the hell out of others to fund their easy lifestyle. Older people like me would be able to push back on the "free" healthcare claim in Europe. It's not free, and it's funded by the high VAT of at least 20%. Think of it this way: Europeans spend an extra 20% in taxes to fund their healthcare on each item they purchase. American sales tax rate can be anywhere from 0% to 10%. Plus we also have several states with no state income taxes. It's important to point out that there are no wait times to see any medical specialist in the US. Moreover, the cancer survival rates are much higher than in Europe.
