A top tip for you Scott.. You NEVER EVER open both curtains at once, Especially in the wind, Always open one at a time

NHS, fire service, royal mail, doctors, teachers and many other sections GO ON STRIKE! But NOT TRUCK DRIVERS? (WHY)?, only if ALL TRUCK DRIVERS WENT ON STRIKE IN UK, then something will happen. Wages for TRUCK drivers is very LOW IN UK. Everything in prices has increased, but not truck drivers wages!

I spent 6 hours waiting at Immingham where you did the spin round the tyre waiting to be allowed in to tip INSIDE a shed due to the high winds.Then it's a hard hat and safety glasses job in the shed which doesn't really work well on the transporters.

Hi Scott it's baled waste in those black and white bales normal waste is put through a shredding machine and shredded its then baled and sent abroad to be incinerated in waste to energy plants I've done a few loads of them on my walking floor trailer the polythene is to stop moisture seeping from the bales into the floor of your trailer as it stinks Hope this helps from joff

Just about to watch, but you look exactly the same in real ife as on here, as I mentioned earlier in week when I thought - 'Is that the You - tube Scott guy I watch?' at Streansham services Tue morning. Sorry again I didn't say hi at the time - I should have . I did think it may have been a bit awkward if it wasn't you though haha - not in the habit of going up to speak to random blokes in Motorway Services after 30 years of driving all over. I saw them loading them wrapped bales at Port of Hull, I wondered if it was silage but having seen this it's probably waste too. I wonder if this is the waste we in the UK send abroad for 'processing', only for it to be dumped in a bog somewhere in a third world country!

Hiya Scott. Love your videos. Very funny. Can I ask? When doing the lanes, do you have much left of the trailer by the time you get back to the yard?🤣🤣🤣 Great bit of driving though. Watching your curtains blowing in the wind reminds me of when me and my hubby went camping. We had the old canvas type. It was a race between each gust to get the thing up. Timing wise, when it was hot and sunny, it would take us well over half an hour to an hour. When it was raining/windy, less than 15 minutes🤣

21:20 it is recommended to give at least a full lane between you and the emergency vehicle or highway maintenence vehicle to give the people in or near the vehicles safe, which is what the drivers did. Alternatively, you can slow down. This is mandatory in USA but varies by state. I never been there but do know some of the rules there.

@Annabel...right you are, and it's mandatory in all Canadian provinces too (although in some of them only for when emergency vehicles are on the shoulder). Generally, though, most HGV/CMV drivers will change lanes even if a private vehicle is on the shoulder, because we never know when they'll pull out unexpectedly....or worse, a kid opens the car door to go out an play (seen it all). Better safe than sorry. Mind you, when a police-car or ambulance/tow-truck is on the shoulder, I'll center-line the two lanes next to them....to avoid having an impatient driver attempt to pass me on the inside lane and potentially hit the emergency-vehicle driver in the process, because they hate being behind a truck/lorry.

Scott, how do you close the curtains in the wind? only thing I can think of is like you had the strap @20:40'ish then pull the curtain so the rear straps line up do them up, then moving forward from the rear of the trailer, until they are all done up fairly loosely, then tighten the curtain, then tighten the straps. maybe could have done with a little less of the curtain pulled forward, maybe to about 1/4 of the trailer, and doing it in 1/4's.

If you want a snug weighbridge the one at Evergreen at Avonmouth is a good one😉 or the one at Southwoods at Evercreech near Shepton Mallet is nice and snug too😂 our DAF CF dustcart has the over cab exhaust and when she is loaded has a real bark to it🥰 have a good week out on the road 😊

...did you say your truck with that trailer can take a load of 24 ton? I would have thought that's quite low for a 6x2 unit, is the V8 heavy or something? It means you can't carry 26 UK 1 ton pallets which is pretty much standard for such a setup.

Arrrhh diddums. We used to do more work with a 180 Gardner. More horsepower than brain cells now. PS I also drove tank transporters and was the only instructor to ever get the DVSA to accept the same vehicle for both bus and truck tests. Work that one out.
