Yup, I stole Erics meme and made the gong hats before he did. I don't know what we were expecting, but at least I have an epic set of hi-hats now 🤷‍♂️ We used a 31" gong that was dented (yay discounted junk) and a 26" Zildjian flat gong/cymbal thing... I really don't know what that thing is, but hey, when you see a gong for a fair price, you gotta buy it! I maaaaay just have to turn it into a flat ride 🤔 Anyways, we also used some wind gongs and opera gongs for the fun of it!

Back in my earlier drum days I had limited means, so had to use whatever was lying around the jam room. Didn't have hi hats, so I ended up stacking a ride cymbal on a crash cymbal in my hi hat stand. When opened up, I could ping on the ride, and close it for the chick sound. I dubbed them Cride Hats! (Crash-ride hats)... No one else would even consider playing them, but I did, because I was dead set on jamming. Anyway, this Gong contraption makes my concoction not seem so ridiculous... Love it!
