Regardless of gender, if a person over 6’ 220 is in a bathroom or dressing/locker room with me and I am alone, it wouldn’t matter what they identify as I would be very aware of my surroundings more so than if someone who was my size or smaller was there. Add a beard and size 12 shoe and that anxiety increases. I am in no way a denier of the trans existence or the struggle that gender dysphoria causes, I watched two of my closest friends handle this life, one easier than the other. I love and respect them both. One mtf the other ftm. Anyways, as sucky as it is to say, more women have been assaulted by men than are ever reported so to see someone questionable in a space that SHOULD be safe (yet more attacks happen in these spaces than people realize) it automatically feels uncomfortable. I have a 3yo daughter and while we are not negative about nudity it’s preferable that she isn’t exposed to male genitalia (even her dads). So the locker room or public changing facility at a pool, etc doesn’t need to be a place where I should be concerned for that. 18+ gyms/spas fine, but a family place it seems inappropriate to me.
