Is homosexuality a sin? Have the biblical passages on homosexuality (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10) been misunderstood for the past 2000+ years? What does the Bible actually say about homosexuality?

REVISED VERSION - Due to feedback, we decided to remove the earlier version of this video and publish this revised version instead. While we stand by the content of what we said in the previous version, the intent of some of what we said was consistently being misunderstood. And, admittedly, we could have spoken with greater clarity in some of the things we were trying to communicate. As with the previous version, we are not qualifying, apologizing, excusing, or disclaiming God's Word. We are simply doing what it is necessary to hopefully prevent this video, and possibly our entire KZfaq channel, from being banned from KZfaq. This has happened to us twice in the past with our Android and iOS apps.

To me it obviously means [in accordance to modern thought]: Don't be a feminist, neither a "masculinist" Putting pride in s.e.x., just like doing so for race, class, proffession, is just awful to me. You're giving yourself "proposed qualities of a group" and placing them above your personal qualities. "I'm proud of being a cop" [for example] "But what about the Floyd case? what about corruption? what about X or Y, or even Z? are you proud about those things too?" ---- Someone can say. To me, this whole question is about pride.

The word abomination appears in the Bible over 122 times. Only twice in the New Testament, neither in reference to homosexuality. It is purely hypocritical to ignore some passages yet love and embrace others. Jesus instructed us to abolish the old law and follow his 2 commandments. If you follow these 2 commandments , #1 to love God with all your heart and soul, and #2 to love one another as you love yourself, you will then fulfill all the other laws. He also said that he would leave us with the Holy Spirit to guide us. You cannot observe the law and walk in the Spirit simultaneously. A mature Christian cannot be led by the Spirit and follow the Law simultaneously. This is an example of “serving two masters,” which Christ said was impossible. In the Greek scriptures Paul urges us to walk in the Spirit, to be filled with the Spirit, to keep in step with the Spirit, and warn us against the bondage to the Law. We can’t live life in the Spirit if the Law has us in chains. Jesus demonstrates this many times in the Bible. He was chastised for healing the sick on the sabbath which was against the law. Love overrides the law.

I really appreciated this discussion. One discrepancy I found in your conversation was that God considers the act of homosexuality is not greater to any other sin. What scripture can you provide that supports this claim? I don’t see in any of the writings where the Jewish writers say this is the worst sin of all, rather they demonstrate God’s anger by His actions. (the Jewish writers, leave it up to God to determine the depth of each sin) God demonstrates His level of wrath towards child sacrifice and sexual immorality homosexuality by destroying cities. The scripture does not demonstrate the destruction of cities for the act of stealing, adulterous acts,or lying etc. The scripture does indicate that God’s wrath toward certain sins evoked certain destruction.

This is a very difficult topic to discuss and to come to terms with. As a gay Christian, I have struggled with it and prayed on it for decades. I have tried to pray the gay away and it hasn’t gone away. I have read the Bible from cover to cover and from my own relationship with the almighty here is what I have come to terms with. Does the Bible say homosexuality is wrong YES! Not going to deny it. However we have to remember that the Bible was written at a time when man was much closer to the fall in Eden than we are today. Laws were a lot different. In the 6K years since the fall we have fell further and further away from perfection. What I mean by that is we are plagued with all kinds of imperfections that we see amongst the human population. With that said the Bible is also clear on saying that anyone who comes to Christ will be forgiven. I honestly don’t think that two gay people who love Christ first will go to hell for having a healthy relationship. The key point being Christ first. We cannot change our sexuality and God knows what a struggle it is. He love us ALL. I hope this helps someone who has also struggled with this the way I have. God bless you all.

But while same sex attraction action is detestable and can be forgiven it is I think important to know that while not perfect anyone having this attraction and is delivered from it by calling on the Lord should/would be distancing themselves from it with extreme measures and struggling should they find themselves falling into it again. When they find themselves struggling, they would seek help from the church not to be confused with any church but rather like-minded believers in the Gospel. who assemble together for the purpose to worshiping God and for PRO: 27:17 sharpen each other, in wisdom and understanding ALSO SEE: Job 28:28

Overall, I enjoyed what I was listening to. I appreciate the intentionality put into this video. It is my hope and prayer, that people will not turn off by listening the Gospel however, and whoever gives a word from the Lord. For now, because I still at the fence with the issue, I want to focus on the information you provided your viewers. The way in which Sodom and Gomorrah and ultimately the surrounding cities were destroyed cannot be adequately explained, without careful study, and now days people will take the world of their friends and their church. We must study for ourselves. There are places in the Bible that mention Sodom and Gomorrah is not clear what the intended meaning is, that is it does not come quickly to mind. When you have a more complete picture of the sins of the detestable cities, you will realize they are unique in nature. I have come to this conclusion, but Canaan and Egypt were spared from an immediate destruction. What these nations and cities had in common were sexuality immorality. To say the Bible mentions homosexuality has a unique sin which seems to be the tone that is taken is not true. The Bible does not make a distinction between adultery, and fornication, and I would stand by the fact that it is as equally detestable to the Lord as homosexuality. I also strongly believe that Moses nor the Israelites would not have known of a differing kind of attraction, considering it would carnal anyways. If you look at the Old Testament carefully you may interpret carnal desires as sexual in nature, or lust that is unrestrained, when and where you are first introduced to the term carnal. Where I am at with this journey has allowed me to have this conversation with others even though I may believe differently then they do, and am open to their views, but I will not argue at any point with them where reason and logic might be used. And as a reminder be careful not blaspheme or take God's name in vain bc nonbelievers are listening and we have closed the doors of Heaven to them permanently. We as Christian have also done abominations in His eyes, please remember this, be careful, and with leading from the Holy Spirit

I agree homosexuality is the same as adultery and fornication and other sins. You can go to hell for any of them. The problem I have is other sins aren’t celebrated with pride and parades the world is trying to force everyone to agree adultery and other sins are good or that we are born that way. The world wants to take all responsibility for the sin of homosexuality off the sinner and blame God or their dna and then be proud of it and condemn anyone that’s says it’s wrong.

This is not about love being love but about marriage and the holy sacrament of matrimony it is directly connected to love but it's not the definition of love too many people utter those words and confuse the meaning of love. AGAPE the biblical context of love is a Divine love it's a sacrificial love. It's not lustful. People often conflate sex with love it's very disingenuous we hear quite a bit of that but of course atheists often parrot the words God is love yes God is love but he sets the terms not us. another one we hear plenty of is inclusivity. The church absolutely should be inclusive. Christ spent time with tax collectors and prostitutes but it is they who went away changed not Christ . I would recommend you all watch Calvin Robinson.

The argument about reinterpretation is kind of weak. The Bible was interpreted as pro-slavery until relatively recently, but now, people argue against that. Reasons I’ve heard for that include “slavery was common at the time, so people were biased”. If so, why couldn’t people in the past have been biased against homosexuality, and only now are people realizing the true meaning of the text as society becomes less biased? Another argument I heard on a KZfaq video just today and my family used recently is that they knew it was wrong when they saw it for the first time, even as a child. If that’s true, then that shows that there is a clear bias against it that would skew people’s interpretations of the Bible.

Romans 1:17-32 is pretty clear this is from Gospel which you are saved by 1cor 15 1-4. It covers anyone that does these things gay or not. Do you live by faith to faith or these things in your own minds and hearts not changed by the Holy spirit and renewing of the mind and new heart. You cant have two gods, the big G or little g. Romans 1: 32 who knowing the judgment of God,that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but HAVE PLEASURE IN THEM THAT DO THEM. So where do you stand? In Christ, the second Adam made by God who is God in the flesh or Satan and still in the lies that he has told from the start. It all about becoming the new creation in Christ the new man/women that is Christ manifested and letting the Gospel change you by the word/logo by his Rhema in you. You are changed for God and his word, not remaining the same the old man/women in the old creation. Or you have missed by who and what you are saved and are not saved from sin and death. By the blood of Christ Romans 3:25 ,so you can stand before God and have fellowship with others and God. The very curtain has been torn so we can come and sit down and talk face to face with the lord by his Son. Hate the sin and not the person, but there must be change by the washing of the word of truth to becoming Christ in us the hope of Glory. The word of God doesnt Change to suit others or its made it a lie. Cause men/women are liars, God is truth and life he is the same now and forever and has put his name above all names powers and principalities and powers. The imaginations and ideas are wicked in mans heart, without God and the truth, we know this. The very reason God came to earth through by his son, was to remove us from the body of death which is the flesh and the lie, death in the flesh into life in the spirit to new life eternal life in God. His spirit couldn't find any place to rest, cause he could only rest on us would have to leave. Jesus destroyed the flesh by the cross and it's sin. So his spirit could rest in us and set us free by his promise being seal by the spirit into life while we walk being renewed in our minds from the past suffering and never leave or for sake us. He does that all to Christ by the cross by his power, we are powerless to change, So what is faith in? Romans 3:25 and his risen life. Who and what he has done that he is God in the flesh manifested to the world. Believing and surrendering to the King of all kings is the only way, Its all him and we did nothing to be able to receive that, He just chooses you He is God He can do what he likes. But at least by the word that never changes you can see its true. preserved word KJV it never changes :) not like all these other bibles, this is what brings confusion and confusion is by satan attacking his word by these other perversions.

@@roym7346 Some people still want to believe they are better than someone else; they get things so stirred up even the more sane feel a need to address the issue more specifically. Jesus was quite right in calling us an adulterous generation. The net still needs to be big enough to catch everyone and not just the homosexual, just like you believe. It is not a sin. To accept this you have to believe in the Bible (created by man). I am no longer a Christian thanks to this nonsense. Maybe you should review how the Bible has been mistranslated and purposefully changed by who was in power at the time in whatever era. I will trust language experts and real historians for my information on what the Bible says.

The Sodom stories, the passages from Leviticus, from Romans, Ist Corinthians, etc., all talk about male on make annal sex. But there are a host of other sexual acts not dealt with in the Bible: kissing, oral sex, holding hands, giving someone a hand job, and on and on. The proposed rape of the angels in the Sodom story was not so much about homosexuality as it was a power play but some of the men of the city to punish the men (angels) who entered the city secretly. Rape is a heinous crime, whether homosexual or heterosexual, and it demonstrates the wickedness of many of the citizens, not necessarily focusing on homosexual acts. Neither is the entire city homosexual. Lot's daughters are engaged to be married to local men! The city was surely composed of men, women, and children.

People get pleasure and satisfaction from their sins. They do not like to be reminded of it, for this causes them to feel shame, have to look within and make changes. And people don't want to make difficult changes. They don't like being told what to do, especially if that thing they're doing is enjoyable to them. Who are you to put shame on them, when you yourself sin. We know this last statement is true in one sense. But in another sense, we are charged by God to love one another and to love means to will the good of the other. It causes us distress to see a person harm themselves and by their action end up separated from God for eternity. We want the person to have God’s love and gift of eternal life.

In Genesis 19 and Judges 19 you'll find stories of the town's men demanding to have sex with men visiting their town, in both stories the men are offered women as a substitute. Question, if you knew that a murderous gang of gay men were outside your door wanting to have sex with your male visitors, would you offer them a woman instead and expect them to be satisfied? That's like offering a murderous gang of vegetarians a hundred pounds of red meat. It doesn't make sense! Prison rape happens every day in male prisons, but it has nothing to do with being a homosexual, it's more about power, pecking order and oppression. Also, if you know of any scripture in the OT that condemns lesbians please share. It seems like out of the 613 laws in the OT God forgot to include one condemning woman on woman sex.

A lack of thanksgiving to God does not seem like much of a sin, yet it is the beginning of every other sin. Proverbs 29:1 may speak to your question. Some sins can only happen after others have already been done, so the punishment fits the number of rebukes, by person or by life, one has gotten.
