You definitely need more Scott pilgrim content because the comics and it’s movie adaptation tell a completely different story from the anime

Scott Pilgrim vs The World is one of my favorite pieces of media to ever be made, in every form. The new show coming out just solidified its place in my heart and just made me so overjoyed as someone who has read the comics and watched the movie more times than I can count. Im so extremely glad with the direction they went with it and Im so happy it came out how it did, probably going to binge watch the movie in the show more times than I can count in succession now :3

One thing I don't really like about this show is that ramona seemed like too good of a person? Like the comic does a very good job at showing you that scott and ramona fit together because they are both pretty shit people and they have to grow to stay together. But ramonas main problem is that she runs away from her problems and kind of uses people, but in the show she just kind of already doesn't do that anymore at the start? Like, she already is very comfortable with confronting her exes and especially future ramona is bad at this. Future scott is what scott would have been if the scott at the start of the series would have not learned anything, but future ramona seems to be pretty much perfect (outside of not reaching out to scott as well) wich makes it seem like the breakup was all scotts fault wich to me seems to go against the whole point of the future characters?

Hahaha, bro: 1- Use google. (Edit: I arrived at the point where you considered it before writing this) 2- Do read the comics. I know the show should stand by itself, and many people like you enjoyed it without consuming the original material, so I guess it does. But one of the things that I really enjoyed as someone who read the comic first is how well the show synergizes with the original graphic novel without, ignoring, over-writing or spoiling it. It's sort of like a sequel... alt-history version, pokemon Red/Blue version of the original. If you want more of this character and support this great IP do consider checking out the comics. The movie is fun I guess.

I don't get this show excatly becauze of absurdism and absence of solid world building but I appreciate the art style, it's great. Just not my cup of tea. Maybe I should continue watching it after I dropped it on 2 episode.

Essentially the franchise is about acknowledgement of ones mistakes and growth. Thats all the media as a whole.

My problem with this show is that all the technical part is pretty good and they had a pretty good idea, but the story was really misshandled. I'm making this comment b4 watching your video, but let me explain: Scott Pilgrim Takes Off don't know what it is supposed to be about. I can literally feel that the only purpose for this series exists is because the writer wanted an animated spinoff of Ramona. That's why this why this animation looks like has a lot of passion, but at the same time it lacks in anything substantial. It's because the technical part is really beautiful, but the script is bad. The series introduce two main plot points, at episode 1 or 2 Scott disappear, so the show is supposed to be that, but around episode 3 it introduce us what would supposed to be Ramona's job in the narrative, that is healing the traumas of everyone she made bad as the same time she heals herself and understands what are her problems. Between these two themes are the script, in one side we have an interesting mistery and in the other we have this super compeling and interesting theme, but then everything goes down XD Episode 4 follows the formula of episode 3 at the same time it tries to talk about the mystery, episode 5 is a filler with mystery, than episode 6 comes and... destroys the mystery? XD Than we understand the mystery in episode 7 (I didn't watched ep 8 because this series is boring, so I'm kinda avoiding it) and that's it. The writters didn't have the emotional maturity to deal with the emotional themes they propose at the same time they aren't skilled enough to give us a compeling mystery. It was cool to see because the animation was beautiful (Tho the fight scenes kinda sucked), but it was overall a pretty bland experience. Not even the joke side could sustain because most of the jokes were just bad. It's writting is just bad XD And that's it '3' Don't know if I made sense, but that's it.

Yeah the anime is not the place to start…
