What Every DCU Movie and Show Should Look Like

Күн бұрынAt the beginning of 2023, Ja,mes Gunn, the new head of DC, unveiled the 10 projects that make up some of the new DC Universe’s first chapter, titled God and Monsters. Ranging from expected projects like a Superman movie and a Batman movie to things no one could’ve predicted like Paradise Lost, the Authority and Creature Commandos. The randomness of these projects, the ranging between A listers and Z listers, live action and animated, movie and tv, alongside confirmation that video games will be included as well makes it virtually impossible to predict how this chapter will go beyond these 10 projects + Peacemaker Season 2. Today, I’ll be attempting the impossible, conveying my genuine prediction for how the entirety of Chapter 1 - Gods and Monsters will unfold with the assumption that it’ll cover half of James Gunn’s 10 year plan, meaning that it’ll last 5 years.

I think it would be cool if the JSA existed in the past, but was banned by the government and forced into hiding like in the comics. That could set up this new age of heroes with Superman at the forefront

Some people thought it was odd guy Gardner was middle aged, meaning he could be the first DCU green lantern, not Hal Jordan. But, if the JSA existed before, Alan Scott could be retconned as the first. I’m fine with that.

I think Waller and Peacemaker 2 will not be direct sequels of Peacemaker. I think James will write Peacemaker 2 in a way that Peacemaker comes off as telling one of his far fetched stories that he typically gets called out for. From there everything ties into the new universe.

I was thinking videogames could be side stories. As in, videogames are part of the continuity and referenced in passing in other media, but aren't an important part of the story. For example: A Superman videogame where Supes defeats a giant robot, and then in his next movie or TV show appearance people are like "Dude, that's Superman! He defeated a giant robot a while ago and that's just part of his routine!". Or perhaps there could be a Supergirl prequel videogame about her adventures before the events of Woman of Tomorrow. And if Gunn wants the games to be a bit more important, a prequel about the Bat-Family's origins or first meeting, or the first encounter between Superman and Luthor, could be in the cards. Anyway, Gunn did said he would have in mind how not everyone plays videogames when coming up with their role in the DCU.

I was thinking if you wanted to use Dream, tie in the Sandman show. It is really good and I could see a lot of the actors coming over. Especially Dream and Constantine.

I personally prefer if Jonah Hex debuted in his solo movie and then maybe in the final act, Booster Gold shows up traveling in this period of time and the movie ends with Booster taking him to the present

I think you nailed the prediction for Brave And The Bold and Peacemaker Season 2. I don’t mind if B&TB is from Robin’s pov. It would definitely stand out from Matt Reeves trilogy.

Since Video Games are a part of the DCU what if the upcoming Wonder Woman Game by Monolith actually introduces the DCU version of Wonder Woman and acts as sort of a prequel to the Wonder Woman movie in the DCU. That way they don’t have to make it necessary for people to play the game in order to understand what’s going on with Wonder Woman in the DCU, but those that did get more context. It would be very unique to be sure. No one has ever incorporated Video Games into their Cinematic Universes yet. Also I feel like Swamp Thing would be the best project to introduce John Constantine. He’s easily the most popular magical character in DC aside from Doctor Fate and he definitely fits in cause his first appearance is in Swamp Thing which would be very fitting.

Also in the comics Lois is 4 years older than Clark He was an intern at the daily planet and Lois was a seasoned journalist by that point I always liked that and explains how much a sleuth Lois is I think Clark will be saving people and being a blur to those who see him or viewed as an angel or guardian angel (The blur is also comic canon) He's never called Superman because no one has seen him fully just blurs, flashes of light , or ice cold temps or hot temps surrounding criminals or saving people He starts to learn about being the face of hope then he reveals himself and Lois gives him the "Superman" name

We all have our wants and needs, but the end of the day I just hope it is a DC adaptation that I will watch and enjoy until it runs its course. When Batman TAS showed up it was such a pleasant surprise as was all of its spin off and sequel shows that followed.

This is the first video I ever watched of yours and it was solid. If the DCU goes in the same direction you laid out, I'd have no complaints. The only thing I don't agree with are the release dates. James Gunn himself said they're aiming for 2 shows and 2 movies a year. The movies and shows are a little too close together. Other than that it was fun speculation.

I think WB should consider continuing the Snyderverse content as one of the Elseworlds through videogame media after the steady progress in the DCU. However, in my opinion, a more worthwhile approach would be to cut off all DCEU content besides Man of Steel and start afresh with a direct sequel to MOS. This could involve an Elseworld expansion based on the foundation of MOS, including rebooted Batfleck who will no longer be portrayed by Ben Affleck. I think this is the most feasible way to pay tribute to and preserve the Snyderverse, but even so, I don't think Warner Bros. will do it.

Come to think of it video games could be a great way to do a spiritual successor to Arkham-- we're getting a Batman that starts his film stories meeting Damian, so there's three Robins worth of history before that (Ideally, anyways) that could fit in several fun games' worth of story in this universe that don't become essential knowledge for anything else

Actually I would like to see other characters that DC in movies and series that are not being used. Like the Dakotaverse ( DC acts like the Dakotaverse doesn't exist),Captain Atom, The Spectre, Firestorm, Val Zod or Calvin Ellis animated movie etc.. I don't mean one off appearances. I hope Barry gets to be flash for a few projects and let Wally be kid flash. Then in the first Justice League, kill Barry off. It would be emotional, it would let Barry interact with other heroes, and they can introduce his grandson (Bart) as kid flash in the future. I just want an super-intelligent Batman with fight scenes that have him somewhat like Sunny from into the Badlands, Himura Kenshin, and Raizo. No more of the heavily armored clunky brawler and more of the nimble ninja/Kung Fu Grandmaster level combatant. Lastly I hope DC ACTUALLY allows him to be Doc Savage level intellect.

I honestly didn't like the announcement, besides superman: legacy, every project was iffy. anyways I would make the entire DCEU loosely happen in the DCU so we have a different kind of universe
