I was blessed to live in Tennessee for 27 years recently moving across the border to North Carolina near Asheville. These mountains have blessed me more than I can tell you when I travel over the mountains to Tennessee to see my son that 1 Hour Dr. has just absolutely calmed me Blessed me and takes my breath away. I don’t know how many times. What a beautiful, beautiful place I live blessed from the mountains to the rivers to the valleys…. I appreciate it. I love it and I will always Paul at home.

We used to go up to Gatlinburg about once a month (Upstate SC) and the Cades Cove Loop and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail was always a must! Every single time! ❤

My Dad rest his soul was from the foothills and on a clear day you could see the mountains from his birth place. We camped the mountains for years when I was a child. The mountains bring a tear to my eye every time I go. Thank you for posting. The mountains are always calling.

Last year I went with my daughter and friends and I sung a song I wrote in the old primitive Baptist Church and the 'sound' was wonderful. I think it's something about the wood they used.

Yall's video makes me homesick for Tennessee. My sisters and I grew up going to the GSM National Park on Summer vacation, with our mom & dad, and sometimes our grandparents would join us. Our grandad was from Freestone County Texas. We always went through Cades Cove at least once while we were on vacation. It's sure a beautiful and special place. Thank You for your video. God bless yall!

Glad you got to visit our part of the world and what we call God's country. I have relatives who lived in the mountains and my great great grandfather was a circuit riding preacher in the mountains preached in all the churches in the area as well as riding his horse over the mountain into NC. Glad you enjoyed the trip. Hope you had time to eat at the Peddler in Gatlinburg while you were there.
@LivingTexas9 ай бұрын
It was gorgeous. Thanks for the family story. Thats a great heritage. We did not eat at the Peddler but if we make it back next year then it will be on our list. Thank you.

The internet has ruined a trip to Cades Cove. We have been going over 30 years and would spend all day there, several days out of our trip. Always considered that’s what Heaven looked like. But it’s so miserable and crowded to go to, it has just been ruined. The whole area is over run with tourists and there is not the roads or structure to handle all the people and traffic. We generally just ride the backroads and rarely go into the park when we go. You can see just as much wildlife and you can enjoy it by yourself. Glad you got to visit. Tennessee is beautiful and my home. We live in the flatlands of West Tennessee

For some seeing a black bear in its natural habitat is special. We always love seeing the wildlife.
@sammylacks493710 ай бұрын
Seeing any wildlife undisturbed just acting natural is something special. I duck hunted most of my 64 years but most hunts I only watched enjoying them responding to my calls and sometimes landing in with decoys. Some dream of seeing a mature whitetail buck but my 10 pt was a dozen or fifteen mallards or black circling their wings whistling as they would bank to make another sweep then in unison all suddenly cupping those wings their landing gear and tilting side to side spilling air dropping in like oak leaves. It doesnt get any better n that.
@LivingTexas9 ай бұрын
We love wildlife also. The issue we had if any was people just stopping and holding everyone up when there are pullouts that can be used.

Not sure when this was filmed but I'm amazed at all the green. I left home before daylight today and had to wait for sunrise to go in. Most of the lower trees had lost their leaves and not much color. Was a very quick change over.

One of my favorite things to do, especially in the summer on Wednesday's when driving is not allowed. One has to walk or ride a bike around the loop. Very nice I love to walk the loop or ride it. Every once in awhile might even see a bear.

We looked at that. If I am not mistaken, that is on a Wednesday.

I enjoyed your Cades Cove tour. My favorite place to go. There's a reason so many people were at the Methodist church. I've had a couple of supernatural events happen to me while there. Just a hint I love your videoing but wish you would slow down spanning the views! slow down and enjoy.

You can go to the house and then turn around vs going the entire 11 miles. It's always crowded and takes a while due to traffic to make the entire 11 mile trek

Yeah we decided to do the whole trip. It was relatively quick compared to most folks. Traffic was not too bad compared to what we had heard.

@LivingTexas9 ай бұрын
I can understand why, but man some would just stopped and stare instead of pulling over and letting others by. I just think in some ways society does not care about others, or maybe even thinks about others is a better way of saying it.

My ancestors homesteaded around Dandridge Tn.these people were drove off their land for the park. It something to see but it has its cost. Like the TVA took the land to built dams. My relatives lost land to lakes and dams.

Actually, it's a National Park. It still might be a law, though (for commercial use, as someone else mentioned). If it is, it's probably ever, ever enforced. unless it's really obvious.
@LivingTexas9 ай бұрын
It is not a state park, it is a natiional park. It is not illegal. You have to contact the permit office. Have a great day.

It’s not against the law to film in a national park. It requires a permit to film commercially. I can film for personal use all I want. You are not allowed to use drones in the national parks.
