What about Shohei’s bank’s fault? It’s also a problem that the bank couldn’t protect its client’s money from the crime. Especially, the transfers Ippei made were the maximum amount a day and frequent. The bank should definitely compensate the damage based on its policy.

Ippei opened Ohtani’s account and knew all his answers to authentication questions and passwords He also changed the settings so no notification went to Ohtani by changing email addresses and contact phone numbers

He could go thirty, which is a max penalty. He has claimed responsibility and is willing to seek help for his gambling addiction, and I will applaud him... Except that he lied to everyone.

@wholewheaties I respect your concern. But he deliberately deceived, lied, stole, and put Ohtani in an embarrassing and precarious situation for 4 YEARS when he was set for life not only financially but had gained the utmost love, trust, respect and consideration mot only from Shohei but also from his family in Japan! I pity Ippei's amily and his loveones, but sadly, I have nothing for him. He needs to accept the consequences and the respective punishment from the law. I see that he is cooperating and has admitted his guilt in this whole fiasco, which is a good first step, but it will take a long time before he can get his life in order.

Bail bond is like 8-10% of the amt. It varies. So he was probably charged around 2500 by the bail company plus other fees .
