That's a lot of money to steal without anyone noticing, but I can see how Ohtani was isolated by the translator who was his only conduit to the English-speaking world.

Damn, with friends like Mizuhara, Ohtani don’t need enemies! All the jug heads saying Ohtani was betting just sound dumb now! Ohtani never had a gambling problem and they actually thought he would be crazy enough to do something like that and mess up his career? Mizuhara had access to his accounts because Ohtani trusted him as a friend he took advantage of that. Ohtani’s haters wanted him to be guilty so bad but that man has so much money from endorsements alone he never missed it. I’m sure he’s really hurt about Mizuhara doing that. It’s really shameful. His wife will probably divorce him. He had a cushy job and ruined it and a good friendship. smh

Ohtani who sent all his money to his parents when he was playing for nippon ham fighters and chose to live in the dormitory for easier access to training facilities, and deferred almost his entire contract never checked one of his accounts for 3 years lol. Did you at least read the 37 page complaint? I’m sorry that the education system has failed you, and you cannot comprehend the situation. The complaint mentioned that this account had cash from Ohtani’s Angels salary. That means the Angels have reported and likely withheld some of his salary for the tax liability. The cash from this account would have shown up in his w-2 form at the beginning of each year from the Angels for tax purposes. Please refrain from making boneheaded comments.

I read the legal complaint. Obviously, Shohei Ohtani makes a lot of money. He doesn't pay too much attention to how much money he has at this point. His interpreter had access to an account that solely had his Dodgers paychecks. His other accounts were handled by his financial people. Interpreter lied and told the financial people that Ohtani wanted to keep that account "private" so they had no idea what was going on. Also, interpreter changed the settings on the account so balance updates wouldn't be sent to Ohtani's cell. Ohtani's sole focus in life is baseball, it's always been that way for him if you look up his history.

@@geerowr.6666 I don't work for the Dodgers. I work in law. The complaint spells out what the situation is great, evidence-backed detail. Shohei cooperated with the feds and allowed them full access to his phone and bank accounts. You should read the complaint.
