After getting dropped from Bad Boy Records, Dawn Richard tried to bring her eclectic music to the masses as a solo artist. Unfortunately, things haven't gone as planned and Dawn has made it clear that when things are going right in her career, there’s always something or someone holding her back.

Points.. -always liked Dawn the best.. She seemed so chill and non problematic -Danity Kane first album was and is flames - Diddy ain't about nothing lol but he clearly liked Dawn and could see she was talented and would put in work.. I loved the second act dirty money... - I wish she had dated anyone but Q.. His corny whiny ass (sorry) - she's had a bunch of surgery.. She was already a beautiful girl but if she loves it.. Then that's all that matters.. I wish her the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️

There is absolutely nothing corny and whiny about Que. The stress was just getting to him and he spoke his mind and was catching on to things. They were meant for each other at the time. I really wish y’all would stop holding the last season (which aired 13 years ago) over his head. He was 20 years old then. He’s 33 now

Dawn Richard is “That girl”. She is my favorite in Danity Kane. I love her music. Bombs, Automatic, Levitate, Phoenix (feat. Aundrea Fimbres) and Jealously are my favorite songs by her. I wish she got the credit she deserves and gets the recognition and gets to perform on the big stages that major artists do. She deserves all the things. She made a big impact in the indie music world. I’m glad she didn’t stay with Bad Boy. To do it on her own as a indie artist let alone as a black woman is amazing and I commend her for that. I commend artists that go from major labels to doing projects independently. I admire artists like her and Mya doing it as indie artists. Mya is another one that I wish got more credit she deserves.

Dawn’s latest album had a billboard In Times Square - independently! She has also released 5 independent albums in under 10 years, as well as eps. The visuals, the sounds, the tours - I had the pleasure of seeing her in London. Most signed US acts don’t even get the pleasure of touring aboard. Dawn has done this multiple times! Despite the hustle and the graft, Dawn has accomplished wayyyy more than she would have done as a signed solo act and way more than many signed Black female artists. What she is doing is the blueprint! Personal favourite songs: Dance, Swim free and The Louvre.

Dawn has a music catalog bigger than some major artists. She’s Currently touring her second installment of her new trilogy. Secondline has no skips and is getting major attention! Dawn currently has 1 mixtape 5 LP’s 3 EP’s & a SoundCloud full of content. She’s formed good relationship with indie artist and gets love from artists like JoJo Kimbra Janelle Monae Kelahni…. She’s not trying to cross over like Lady Gaga she was looking for a space to truly be authentic and found it in Unconventional spaces. Dawn had already crossed over in dirty money technically. She the first black artist to debut on KZfaq using 360 VR and made it cool to think outside the traditional mediums for music videos. Not many black artist traverse the industry with electronic sound but it a staple to who Dawn is as an artist. She’s proven that curses don’t last.

Dawn is so transparent and hard working, it's so inspiring. The music is also next level, Dawn touches on so many different genres that a lot of other artists to me now just feel like a one trick pony. Go Dawn do your thing!

🌬️💨💨💨Danity Kane would've been bigger if Bad Boy put the FULL MACHINE behind them. However, Diddy didn't think they would sell as many units BEFORE their first album dropped and he underestimated their success. This is one of the groups that I hate that didn't go farther than they did!...thanks Diddy!🙄

Dawn was my fave in Danity Kane. Not surprised she had to check Aubrey 🙄 We would have to do a meal & drinks to speak on her SHE-nanigans I loved Dawn's humility and her work ethic. P. Diddy didn't respect her let alone how to market her. I don't think he tried to understand that she didn't want to be in box. No one understood that she wanted to be herself and not just another has-been performer. Whatever that sister is doing I wish her well and much success.

I always did like Dawn I always felt like she had a cool laid-back attitude but I really do miss this day and time really give me nostalgic feeling but yeah any artist against signed to bad-boy is only temporary and I think Puff Daddy is the only one that benefits from the artist that he signs I just feel like he bribes them with a doggie treat and then when he gets what he wants and needs it's like there's no use for them anymore because I really did like Danity Kane & da band I feel like we're there at today they shouldn't be when they were signed to a major label at one point
