I mean 2019 is almost over and he probably wants to spend some time relaxing before jumping back into music. Kpop is high stress and constant training and he’s spent YEARS doing it. I’m mean if I were him, I’d take a short break before heading into music again.

As much as I've missed him, I kind of hope he takes a break. He probably needs one, like you said he basically never has taken a break and emotions are exhausting, I just want him to be happy no matter what. But knowing him, he probably knows that this is gonna be the comeback of the century and is already planning it, and I can't wait to see what he does.

Younger generations don't fully understand just how much of a legend GD is. I heard about GD and BigBang 11 years ago, in a time when I didn't even know what kpop was. I was absolutely in love with his solo work and still am. Saying that he has changed the kpop industry as a whole is no understatement, this man's talent and charisma still has no match. This is coming from an ARMY btw.

Fellow v.i.p!!!! Since 2006 😊 saw his lil collab with taeyang when they were small too and i always been a fan. Their music just vibes. Its so amazing seeing people know about kpop when during our time it was unheard of. I remember my friends in middle school, 2005 ish, id show them kpop and they would laugh at it. My lil sis was born that year. Now shes 14 and her friends and most classmates like Korean music so its such a contrast. They love the newer groups of course. But still its nice seeing how far its come.

I first saw G Dragon when I was 12 in Skrillex’s dirty vibe (same with CL who I absolutely love) and him and Big Bang really paved the way. Although I feel like BTS has definitely paved the way for newer generations but Big Bang was the first similar to Wonder Girls and Girls Generation for girl groups

Kpop (especially 2nd gen in my opinion) is so good that we always regret not staning sooner 😂 I listened to kpop for the first time in 2009, but only became an actual stan in 2012 and I totally regret that .-.

GD is iconic bc 1. first asian male to become chanel glboal ambassador and muse at the same time 2. first male to become givenchy muse 3. louis vuitton, dior designers wrote handwritten letters to gd 4. gd and bigbang was always the first to wear ysl collection clothing(in concert) 5. first asian to collab with nike and invited to forum 6. first korean singer who put all of the songs in his album on the charts 7. his solo debut stage has a rating of 20% which is the highest rating for a korean singer 8. he was the first singer to have a pg18 song chart #1 in korean charts 9. first idol who produced their own songs 10. the song haru haru and lies(he wrote these when he was only 19) is the longest song to chart on charts and after 13 years since the songs were released, its still in the chart(it never left the top 500 for over 10 years)

WORLDWIDE ICONS BTS I’m not talking about popularity... I’m talking about kpop as a whole, they created lightsticks, therefore the fan ocean thing, also they made mini-albums a thing, they were the first to experiment with EDM sound (fantastic baby) that then became a thing in kpop, they are one of the most experimental kpop groups (if not the most) r&b, pop, hiphop, edm, trap and more. They make the word “maknae” a trend, they started the trend of rap based songs, they even make the position “rapper” a thing, they broke the stereotypes of Korean beauty, they proved that “ugly” persons could be idols, And I can go on...what I mean is that they basically shaped K-POP, every kpop group still follows everything that they have done

GDragon and Big Bang are the reason that so many of the younger groups have the level of success internationally that is currently trending. You can hear groups like BTS even talk about how much influence Big Bang has had on them. They made and broke the mold for KPOP in the Western World. As an American, I had never even heard of KPOP until hearing of Big Bang and watching their success. And I am so glad they were my first real introduction into KPOP because if I had heard some of the other groups first, I would not be as big of a supporter. They stood out from all of the other artists because they wrote and produced their own music. They weren't just flashy dancers like some of the newer groups. Their live performances are second to none, I have never seen a more dynamic stage presence than these guys deliver. And JiYong's writing abilities......let's face it.......he can write rap, hip hop, R&B, ballads, pop and rock. I hope Big Bang comes back, even if they have to do it with only four members. There would be a huge hole in the KPOP scene without these legendary OG's. 💖🎤💖

@justathankfulARMY A lot of Army' mention BTS in the most random of times. I also feel since a lot of them are new to the Kpop world, they kinda disregard a lot of the older groups. But what OP said is a fact. BTS was influenced by Big Bang, a lot of the members are known as being fans of BB. I think it's important to recognize that groups like Big Bang really helped open the door for BTS worldwide. When Big Bang was starting off, the kpop scene was a different battlefield. I also don't think this minimizes BTS' hardwork. BTS was able to use the opportunities that groups like Big Bang made possible for them, to grow and become who they are today. They worked hard to get their name out there. I'm not a BTS fan, but I can recognize that.

I just watched the KWON JIYONG documentary few days ago; i really really hope that he takes a good break; if u have seen the documentary he was TIRED and he was not really living a happy and easy life being G-Dragon; he was exhausted, lonely and fragile.He really wanted to let people know that sometimes he feels tired to have the title G-Dragon on. In the end, he is KWON JIYONG. "BEFORE THE MONEY AND FAME, KWONJIYONG WAS HIS NAME"

G-Dragon honestly have set the benchmark really high for k-pop stars. He achieved so much as a member of Big Bang but look at his individual achievements too!! This man is beyond comparable. He stands out, creating a league of his own. So much of admiration and respect for him. GD and Big Bang will always be the "og" of k-pop. They made k-pop global even before any of the new groups did. #Respect👏👏

CHANEL, guys! 2.He has featured in VOGUE front cover 3. he has his own fashion brand peaceminusone (that is somehow always out of stock) 4. Collaboration w Nike and launch his own shoes design 5. Just the name GDragon fills my heart..A lot of younger generation idols and groups are already making kpop bigger. EXO, BTS, BP and many more. They've broke records and are already well known internationally. But no one comes close to GD's reputation when it comes to the kpop industry. He earned respect from his co artists and producers by working hard on his music. And that's a lot more significant than the fame and wealth he has now.

I’m honestly piss off every time i heard people disrespecting GD and big bang. Like for real we are at the end of the third kpop generation and no groups had really changed kpop (musically talking). Bigbang were the only ones that actually changed kpop rules, just to make some examples the genres that we have now in kpop like EDM were first used by bigbang. Also the reason why today idols are considered artists it’s be cause bigbang were the first ones to write and produce their own songs. Sorry for my bad english.

I went to one of the concerts in his M.O.T.T.E. Tour, and one of the concerts in Taeyang’s White Night tour. Both were amazing. Their stage presence was phenomenal. Hearing and seeing them perform live was astounding. Being part of the yellow ocean and singing along with other VIPs was such a wonderful experience. Many of us including me cried when they sung songs like Haru Haru, Last Dance, and Untitled. This just goes to prove that BigBang are kings. I can’t wait to attend a BigBang concert 🥰

Those concerts would have been amazing! I went to the bigbang MADE tour and to this day it is still my favourite concert ever. I think you'd agree with me when I say EVERY FAN NEEDS TO EXPERIENCE HARU HARU LIVE! They let the audience sing to them while they sit there and take it all in. it's hauntingly beautiful.

I was stageside for the MADE tour in Jersey, and saw GD in Houston for his solo tour. He is AWESOME. I stayed at his parents' pension when I went to South Korea, played with Gaho and just loved it. I am sad that BB most likely is defunct, but I take pride in having been a part of this story in a teeny tiny way. BTW. As of this posting, I am 58 yrs old.

@@millasuini8307 from someone who is not as active in kpop anymore but spent every minute she had on it from 2017 to 2019, it was still really fun and alot of the the 2nd and few 3rd gen groups still had a connection with their audience because they had room to make mistakes and bring out bad songs and funny things that would get memed on but the competition between the groups or actually fandoms has gotten so toxic and unrecoverable making it less enjoyable. Now Im trying hard not to judge but all the groups coming out are so well rounded and good at everything and all look perfect which Is great but it leaves no room for artists to connect as humans with their fans or their music and the work they are putting out because they look unreachable and not human to many. The industry has kinda gone to shit concidering fans think they own the idols and can only uplift their own groups trough bringing down others. That's why I'm glad I'm out of that hole and can now just enjoy the music without the frustration. I just recently discovered BB and let's just say im in love with their music especially GD his voice and artistic output and value he has in his lyrics.

Hzelyaa Dduh if your asking about GD’s marijuana scandal years before.n it was true. but he did not intentionally use it. during a party someone gave him a cigarite, you know Gd smoke even before. whe he notice tha something is wrong and diff. he throw it. thats why during his drug test only small amount of it was trace

I see a lot of people saying he will leave Yg but I don’t see him leaving Yg he’s been there since he was 13 year old and him with bigbang made Yg i doubt he will let all their hard work just go. I think it’s unfair how he has lot of pressure on him to save the company caused by seungri and YHS but I hope he gets some rest and comeback with bangers

well, yhs has always manipulated them (whole bb) to stay in the company, actually they considered to leave in 2015 when they were signing the contract again. Yhs at that time told gd that he has to consider all the people who would be jobless if he leaves and well the rest of bb always follow what gd says so

@@ellaz3911 Who told you that? GD said himself that he renew the contract because YG its his home and that he love all the staff, he is comfortable there and he can do whatever he want. He is free. He said "I dont want to leave home".

Truth be told! Totally agreed, my husband doesn’t truly care about any other groups I’m interested in but when it comes to BigBang and GD - he’s the first to hype about it. He got all his 7 brothers and in laws families liking BigBang and GD. So I say yes to this comment.
