I think Valve should only give a theme and let community create whatever they want with the theme. Let's say "Give us a new game mode, maps with summer theme" Then Valve chooses some things of them into an update.

Can't wait for The Madcap to make it to this summer event!!!

My hopes for the summer update is that there are good quality items added to the crates, and some quality of life improvements. I’m hard pressed to ask for something as impactful as Love & War or Jungle Inferno or anything that big, just some quality of life and bug fixes, minor as they may be. Perhaps at best a Blue Moon styled update that reworks weapons as well as readding content, perhaps the lost arena gamemode or some other maps that got removed from the queue, or maybe finishing Cactus Canyon and/or Asteroid.

Actually, in hindsight the robotic boogaloo & End of the Line really wasn't that bad and without the hypetrain I think the community would've been a bit less angry about it. It wasn't supposed to be anything more than just some hats and in a time where the game actually got updates that was fine.

An update I was wating for a while that got cancelled was the Frontline! update. The theme is very cool and the maps too. Great vid btw (:

More than 2000 days, the only ones that "care" about the game in valve are the potted plant and the janitor, both discussing about adding the big slappy to the game or not

Loved the video dude. Not only was zesty just as good as he always is but the quality of the video is also extremly good. I really hope valve does something with this update that fixes some of the most glaring problems of the game. (bots, buged weapons, bugs in general, performance ect.)

The workshop isnt bad its valve using a random number generator to decide what items get in.

The tf2 workshop is an example of why we should never let the community update the game in any way. They put out better items for the summer update but I remember what they did for these past years

Feels like a bit of a mixed bag with TF2, the gamers should be grateful that they still have developers working on it, but at the same time the developers should be grateful that they still have gamers who care so much about the game. I really hope the teased Heavy Update from that blogpost can mend the bond between the two parties, this content drought has been slowly sapping away at the game.

three things tf2 needs imho: 1) absence of random critz, 2) new maps, 3) arena mod in casual
