We filled new oak whiskey barrels with GIN and aged it. Now, it's finally time to pull out a sample and taste the result! Technically, this is our "dry week" and we don't usually make an episode - so no sponsors this time. But this gin experiment fell into our lap at the last minute, so why not? THANK YOU to all the MB's who make the content and distillery possible. None of this could happen without you.

I stared my dry week last Sunday. I needed the reset early, and had definitely been drinking more in the last couple years. I found myself wanting a drink during that time, but it was 100% controllable and I didn't have what I'd call withdrawals. I think I'm clear.

@@wasabista1613 that's self control which is just as impressive as a dry week your limiting yourself on your alcohol intake and taking care to not get addicted to alcohol which is the method I use adding in a dry week every 3 months or so just to give my organs a break from the poison

A couple of years ago, I started to do a dry period of 5-6 days every 8 weeks. I am a blood donor, 68 pints so far. And I find taking that time off seems to help with my red blood cell count. And sometimes I will extend this dry period after donating. Respect and control it.

What a spectacular colour. I am a huge gin fan, and I love high quality craft gin. This looks amazing! I am still so taken with the colour. I love oak but I wouldn't want it to overwhelm the gin. What a fabulous marriage of flavours. It's spectacular what gin botanicals and barrel oak can do together. I have to try this gin! The Apology sounds absolutely spectacular!! Terrific video guys!!

Long time fan from Canada here. You guys are entirely responsible for my whiskey hobby and interest. I hadn't touched liquor before law school, and you guys turned me into the "whiskey guy" in my circles. My fiancee always gets me new whiskeys to try as gifts. Never had a problem, but as someone who works with persons with addictions up close in my career and church life, I have mad respect for dry week and for the legendary MB whose story you shared today. Just ordered the coffee you promoted - looking forward to seeing two of my favourite things come together on a winter Saturday morning sometime soon. Much love from Great White North. (P.S. - an episode on Canadian whiskeys that you don't hate would be awesome!)

I've done a dry month every January and September for the past 6 or 7 years. (aka after all the weeks of fun during the summer and the holidays where every day is "a reason to grab a beer with family and friends"). I don't do it because I "need to", I do it because I WANT TO and to get back to basics. I don't want this to ever be a problem and I really want to check myself. I usually combine this with a month off of sugar and sweets at the same time along with some extra workouts to really shock my body. YES I do miss that one "friday after work" beer or whiskey but it has NEVER been a problem and I'm surprised every single time because it's easier and easier for every year. Here's to all the MB's and our combined strength! May we be happy, and our enemies know it!

I finished my dry week today after a big tasting last Saturday. We did a 5 whisky flight (1st one) and I wasn't feeling the need or the will/want of drinking since I kind of felt that I enjoyed the flight enough that drinking whisky just for drinking it would be a waste, so I lasted a week easily. But I glady do a dry period here and there by either lack of time to really enjoy it or by the need to take a break of a saturated palate.

@@Backroad_Junkie That's really not the way it works. A service provider that is not able to serve everyone equally needs to make it clear where the differences lie. It is literally their business to know who they can ship to and can't, and why. Not "oh sorry customer looks like that bottle you ordered can't be delivered in your state." I live in CA and there's a lot of mixed results about shipping booze here. I've successfully ordered from some stores, but I think it's dependent on whether the state the vendor is in has an agreement with CA.
