If the 6 human souls weren't contained, what's stopping 6 monsters claiming those souls to gain great power and getting by Asgore? It's been confirmed that monsters can leave the Underground if they possess a human soul with them. As seen (read?) by Asriel's experiences before his death. Chara literally killed themself, so to grant Asriel their soul, while giving Asriel no choice but to be manipulated by Chara to take their soul, and carry Chara's body to their home village. Which brought upon humans impulsively assuming Asriel killed Chara. Which Chara tried to force Asriel to kill the humans, but Asriel was too kind to cause bloodshed. I'm not justifying Chara's acts. They clearly were not a good friend/sibling. I've seen theories that Chara did all this to make Asriel farm human souls to break the barrier, but I don't see Chara having that goodwill towards monsters exclusively, to make such a selfless act for the sake of monsters. I think it was moreso Chara hated humanity so much, that instead of staying stuck in the Underground, they chose to use Asriel to get by the barrier to kill the humans Chara hates so much. While manipulating him as to not realize their malicious intents

Matter of fact, almost no adult monster knows how a human looks. And solely because of ballet shoes location, I'd say the blue soul would have made it at least to waterfall. Which means somebody must have seen them.

I think the doylist explanation is that Toby simply didn't want to bother. He fleshed out the souls just enough to give them associated equipment you can use and attack patterns in the omega flowy fight. Making sprites for them would mean he would have to give them actual designs, plus he would have to write up dialogue and make a general outline of their adventures, and that seems a little too much for what is ultimately an unimportant background detail. For the other arguments, I don't think frisk was out for that long considering everyone was still there, if they were then you would think they would probably move frisk to a bed then leave them on the ground. And I think flowy would have gone through enough loops to know exactly where the souls were (at the very least he would only need to open one coffin to figure out that there were no souls in them)

Asgore was aware of saving and resetting likely because he had to kill all those human kids, the ones that were capable of resetting/saving wouldve 100% told him that at some point, asgore even acknowledges as if hes not shocked when you tell him how many times hes killed you (neutral)

@@KaruSnep Correction, the other children did not have the "SAVE Ability", that's reserved for the one individual who currently has the most Determination in the Underground. As, in Undertale Yellow, Clover having the Justice Soul, and not the Determination Soul means they cannot achieve the required DT levels required to save and load. Hence why Flowey has to do the game saving for them, as, before the events of Undertale, Flowey was the one with the "SAVE Ability", as Frisk hadn't yet claimed that power upon falling

@@zigazav1 Undertale Yellow isn't canon, and cannot be used for lore discussion. We know that there were actually 10 different people who could save and load, and that Flowey was the 8th, because of the files in our computer. file0 is for Chara, file9 is for Frisk. The information for both is combined when we load. After the Flowey Photoshop fight, file8 shows up, and is the file used for the duration of that fight. This means that there are save files file1-file7 that we never get to see nor use. While 6 of them are obviously the other humans (because of the stuff like what Asgore says if you die and keep talking, and what Toriel says at the beginning of the game) the last one is a bit of a mystery still. I'm pretty sure it's the amalgamate, or one of the people within it, that disguises as a save point because otherwise they wouldn't know what it looks like.

@@zigazav1 Toriel states she seems to know the preferences of the fallen humans favourite food as if they're an old friend. So I think its safe to imply at least one or more non determination based souls could save, maybe with the amount of LV they had?

If we want to consider UTY canon (recieved support from Toby at the start of development AND during the lawsuit over its music), then being soulless doesn't seem like it'd work the same way in the UT universe. It UTY's pacifist ending, after having their soul removed by Ceroba (in a way that even looked more surgical than Kris doing it barehanded), Clover barely only survived long enough to say a last goodbye.
