I don’t understand why kids would be on their phones with Snapchat,Twitter,and instagram. And they are so focused on it. And that they don’t care about anything else only they’re phone. I am in high school and I don’t have social media because I think it would distract me from my homework and family

_two weeks isn’t that much if you think about it. Just spend time doing other things and two weeks will go by in a flash. FOMO won’t happen as much & hopefully you’ll forget about social media in general._

I use my phone to help keep the suicidal thoughts away, and my only friends are on the internet because that’s the only place where people have actively shown that my existence matter, if my phone was taken away for 2 weeks (without me knowing) I wouldn’t have even survived. Perhaps you should ask for a reason why we’re always on our phones. This phone is why i haven’t died yet. If I haven’t got a phone I wouldn’t have realized that i shouldn’t kill myself, this is why I’m constantly on my phone, as an ex ape from all my problems and issues

I give alot of credit to these girls for participating in that experiment,hopefully it taught them alot..and it's not just kids that are glued to their phones adults are too..we need to set better examples for them

In my opinion, social media like snapchat and insta don't really give any boosts to you. That's why I focus on making good animated yt vids which could make me successful

I tried this during quarantine, I'm going to be honest i didn't last more than 2 days

these parents are "concerned about their kids on their phones too much and telling them to get off from them".....WHO BOUGHT THEM THE PHONES? WHO PAYS THE PHONE BILL EVERY MONTH? You are the parent you did this!!!! You are the one to guide them and are in charge of them... YOU DO NOT COWER TO YOUR CHILDREN.... If you tell them to get off their phone and they don't do it... TAKE THE PHONE AWAY... I truly don't understand how so many "parents" raise their children now. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR KIDS!!!! You tell them they are smart, pretty, handsome, capable... YOU show them the REAL world not this fabricated one they are choosing to believe.

What parents don’t realize that this is a different generation like they won’t delete social media but sometimes we’re forced to at the end the problems their having with social media are the same ones that we have I was forced to delete social media yesterday what my mom doesn’t realize is that some of my friends numbers got hacked so how would I be able to talk to them I guess I have to do what I have to do

They all sound more articulate after the detox. It really is hypocritical of the media to recommend the detox. It seems as if every reporter/personality on GMA has all the platforms covered and encourages their viewers to follow them. We do seem to have an awful lot of people who don't know how to hold a conversation. Sadly i know too many adults who scroll through their phones while out for dinner with family and friends who pester people for pictures and responses when they're not together.

The problem was there was no dads there! What a shame!

Instead of taking away their phones we should take away them ever getting on any television ever again.😷

Every day I feel a little more great full that I only have my desk top and a lap top for my photography. I do not do social media....I do not do online dating(you only have to go back about ten years when dating clubs were for losers only)I have no piercings or tattoos...I do not drink craft beer....I loathe rap music....I do not have a smart phone....I am my own person.....Now, the dark underbelly of all of this technology is rearing its ugly head... and I am whistling a happy tune because I am free....can you say that?
