It looks like the structures still spawn within structure-specific y-levels, hence why the bastions were only in water or in a cave bc those were the only locations it could fit vertically, and hence why the strongholds didn't appear above ground at all. It would be interesting to have that disabled and all structures able to spawn at any y-level, causing even more chaos

@@databitmcnot necessarily. Nether Bedrock is at like 120 or 130, he could’ve just spawned in at Y 40 and been below everything to begin with. Although you’d suspect he would find a mineshaft at that level at least.

@@danielhitchcock6194 I did notice in the nether that there were fossils spawning in the Crimson forest, which don't normally, so I imagine ethanhasz here is correct in that they're spawning at their respective Y levels.

This is a very nice concept! Since this is a first, I suppose there'll be some fine tuning, so I was thinking maybe the structures should spawn further apart or less frequently to make exploration more worthwhile. It could also take into account how important that structure is to the progression and vary its frequency from there. I think this might give it a nice balance

i think the random generation still works in the nether, its just that, since the spawn rate for nether structures is so low (i mean, just look at how much time we spend trying to find a fortress each playthrough) for anything but bones, you didnt really see anything noteworthy in the minute or two you were there. i loved this video though, and would definitely love to see some combo of this and random block/ loot drops

I think the reason structures didn't generate in the nether is because there just aren't many spots where structures DO spawn in the nether.

I like that a giant zombie spawned around the 31 minute mark and the Captain just goes about his day like that is normal. Doesn't even mention it.

I would be really interested to see what this would be like with certain variations on this idea. What if the structures are only random within their proper dimension? What if they are a bit more spread out than they are here? What if the mobs are not random? What if only the mobs were random? Maybe it's too much to ask, but would random loot and this work together? Part of me says no, but there should be such a variety of blocks and mobs to interact with, it could possibly even be easier than normal random loot drops.

I think the reason why Axes don't spawn in the End City Loot Chest is because there are no Trees in the End. I get there are Chorus fruit plants, but those aren't really trees. Though I noticed they have Shovels, even though there is no dirt in the end either. I honestly have no idea then haha.

for the end citys and which rooms have loot: every 3 story room has loot at the top, aswell as the tall towers with a wide single story room on top. hope it helps

14:42 An end city inspired home would be pretty cool, actually, overlooking a lush, green forest and an ocean, for example 14:48 I would like to see that, it would be another reason to be proud of Jordan. And he actually was doing pretty well speedbridging when practising with Sapnap, Kara and Dream for MCC 10. I guess he didn't consolidate that knowledge, but the potential is there. 16:02 He bows down to the elytra holder

My guess about axes not spawning in End Cities is cause there are no trees or wood in The End so there's no need for them :)

My bet is that Wardens spawn and instantly despawn. I feel like I've seen somebody command spawn a warden and it just instantly digs away

Or it could just be blacklisted. The ender dragon and wither clearly are (it would've been rather obvious if a mob had randomized into either one due to the bossbars), so it would make sense if the warden was excluded too.

I would love to see you play random loot/crafting. But... have a texturepack/resourcepack that makes stuff look like dirt, cobble, planks, poppy ect. Like only alpha items ... so you get confused all the time.

at 24:40 just before Jordan says "hi axolotl" we can see the that it is THE BROWN AXOLOTL which as you know (i hope) is a rare mob but since mob spawns are random this makes sense a possibly would make rare mob spawns more common?

does anyone know how to disable the loot drop function on this data pack? it does have a feature for that but its a separate thing to the rando loot pack he uses that is compatible with a tracker. i want to use that one instead but dont know how to disable to loot dropping of this one. it should otherwise work together just fine.
