Years ago I taking my daughter and her friends to the theatre so they could catch a movie. Their discussion on the way was what kids music they remembered listening to when driving somewhere. The average age of my daughter’s friends was around 15 or so so Barney and Sesame Street came up as their memories of driving as a child. My daughter was a little quiet during the exchange when one of her friends asked, “what did you listen to while driving with your parents?” With her eyes fixed into mine through the rear view mirror, my daughter calmly replied, “I listened to Marilyn Manson.” The ensuing silence was the virtual mike-drop. It was a quiet remainder of the ride.

Marilyn Manson is a true artist through and through. His music is awesome, and it's great to see you like him too! Since he is such an artist, there is always several layers with him. Not to just listen to his music, but pay close attention to his texts and videos where there always is one or more messages/ meanings. He is highly intelligent, and as you said, does what he does and doesn't care what other thinks of him. How much better can it get! I've listened to him since the second half of the 90's when he got out there among so many artists, and he is still today active and popular. Clearly he is definitely doing something right! He was accused of causing the Columbine shooting which nearly ruined his career all because the boys that were the shooters wore a Marilyn Manson shirt sometimes and listened to his music. Manson was asked, "What would you have said to those kids that killed all those people if you would've had the chance?" He said, I wouldn't have said anything, I would have listened which is apparently what no one did. "

Marilyn Manson and Tool video's almost always distract from the message they are putting out, on top of that, when they were forced to change lyrics to get it on Mtv it waters down the impact of the lyrics, you should really go back and listen to the uncensored album version of this while reading the official lyrics, this album, in my opinion, was his pinnacle of creativity.

I have a girlfriend that teaches her kid about a new band from her time everyday gets him into the music and teaches him the history of the band / artist and the meaning behind the lyrics. I think it's brilliant. It's always seemed to me the harder the music the stronger the message you just have to listen 💖

he is surprisingly a very intelligent individual. Everything he does is very deliberate, and his lyrics are very deep. Nothing he ever does or includes in his videos is frivolous. There is almost always a reason for it, except when he wants to just plain shock people. But even then he does it for a deeper secondary reason. Everything reads like a story book. He does have some weird stuff though, some of has meaning i don't think i even want to know about. He addresses some nasty stuff that society nearly always just sweeps under the rug.
