Hey Tim! Thanks for the video recap of your pickups from the show! I appreciate the mention, too! Man, I can't believe how disappointed I was in this show. I had such great luck last August that I was kind of expecting to have a repeat experience. Still one of the most organized shows we go to, but something has really changed this time around regarding prices and the crowd. I only walked out with one record, and it certainly wasn't one that I absolutely needed. Happy to see that you picked up INXS Kick! I believe I have a Specialty pressing, too. Sounds so amazing! Definitely a must have album! Cheers to you!

Excellent share, ty! We are fortunate here in STL to have a nearly 40 yr old legendary record store, Vintage Vinyl. They have a super strong soul / r&b / funk section...picked up 100% Pure Poison, Tina Turner's Private Dancer, and a pair of Sly's last month...thumbed past Prince's Parade and am kicking myself (Mountains is an incredible Revolution track). I have a few club pressings that are sensational, agreed...big fan of SRC too. Just finished cleaning 5 Japanese pressings and every one of them simply jaw dropping sonics and clarity.

Always enjoy your vids Tim. I completely agree that vinyl record pricing has reached the absurd level to the point where I have bought just one record in 2024 and value invested in gear to up my streaming experience. I still have my cherished collection that I have amassed in my close to 67 years of vinyl cd and cassettes. Guess I’m spoiled from the days of buying sealed records at a buck apiece when record stores were unloading in favor of CD’s. Great grab on the Dylan promo, Knopfler plays stellar guitar on that one.

Great finds Tim! Miles'Jack Johnson. Really fine sounding album on the original Columbia press. I have an original woth the alternate cover. Miles trumpet pose side profile pic on cover. It sounds fantastic. And Miles played on Toto Fahrenheight album. Which also sounds fantastic on my Canadian pressing. Underrated album for sure.

Hello Tim, I appreciate your passion for collecting and your insights on engineers, pressings to keep an eye out for, etc. Also, I love seeing that Dream Academy album being enjoyed; maybe it's just 14-year-old me talking, but it's an underrated one. Cheers.

It looks like you had a lot of fun, good for you! I am not surprised some dealers, not all fortunately!, are putting higher prices on their albums, as long as some buyers don't mind and pay for them, as it is the case, IMO, for those fancy box sets reissues for $150.00. For that price I'd buy a share of Apple or Tesla or......., but not a record.
@joecarrera1799

The fact that both Steve Carlson and the Omaha Introvert complained about the prices suggests that what they saw was out of whack with what they normally see in Michigan and Nebraska. That being said, it points to the fact that record prices sometimes vary in head scratching ways. Thanks for the Blue Note tip. I have started casually looking for some of those dark b pressings. I'm not sure I'll be able to find my preferred artists or titles but it beats some of the current alternatives. I wanted to thank Tim for something else. I just bought a black label Pretzel Logic. I had a decent copy but it wasn't a black label and I wouldn't have even known about this if Tim hadn't mentioned it ( maybe on Steve Westman's channel). Maybe I should be mad that he made me buy a record I already had but I appreciated the info. Thanks again, Tim.

Hi Joe - I appreciate you stopping by and thanks for the kind words. Those ABC Black Labels are hard to beat and we know what happened with the Pretzel UHQR. IMHO - the ABC Black label is the pressing to have at this point.

Great finds, Tim. Nice to see the Prince/Parade pickup. Overlooked for certain. “Sometimes it Snows in April” is an incredible song, and for this Prince fan, it’s probably the most difficult song for me to listen to since his tragic passing.

The classic rock price gouge has been on its way up ever since the last vinyl “boom” during, and slightly before Covid. It’s stupid. High prices on name alone. I remember the days the entire Fleetwood Mac catalogue was dollar bin fodder.

The Elton DJMs are quite common in the UK and quite cheap- condition not always great as they are well loved - the translucent is a nice bonus - that Prince album is my favourite of his - girls and boys smokes - that album was more popular in Europe than the USA I believe

Hi Tim! Great finds. Hopefully I can find some grales myself this weekend. I’m going to the biggest record show in the world in ‘s Hertogenbosch (Netherlands) Last year I found a mint og copy of English Settlement for €15,-(narrow spine),but when I watched your video ,I was getting worried prices are rising rapidly. So hopefully it’s not to bad overhere in Europe. (This is my only chance by the way to score some fine U.S. pressings) Greetings from Holland

Hi Tim. You might be running into Steve Carlton At Colorado record shows moving forward. Great records here! I need that Donald Byrd! I have a 3 foot by 2 foot framed poster of that Byrd album cover hanging in my record room but I’ve yet to add that title to my collection lol. INXS has always been a favorite of mine. Thanks for the tip on the Crosby album. I have 3 sealed copies of that album. I can’t wait to split one open and listen to Delta! As always thank you for the continuing education! 💪🏽

@@Universityofvinyl Ilfiltol is good. I made my own DIY ultrasonic RCM that cleans 6 records at a time and I can control the heat, duration, rotation speed, and very importantly the chemistry (I have a 4 part series here on KZfaq showing my research and how I did it) I also spin the records in a dishpan of distilled water to rinse afterward, because I use a pretty strong chemistry in the ultrasonic tank. Ron Beaudry likes Tergikleen too. As long as you don't use very much, you might get away without having to do a separate distilled or Lab Regrade purified water #2 rinse, which is what I use on my DIY vacuum/rinse RCM (also shown on my channel)

I love those OG DJM EK Elton albums. I have most of them except for Madman and Tumbleweed. I also prefer the SuperDisk Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. I was listening to my UK Caribou the other day, sounds great. Elton's albums were well recorded as you know. Blue Moves is the real audiophile record per se. I also have Lindsay Buckingham's Solo Anthology box set. It sounds excellent- great mastering and cutting on that release. Rockaway is a highlight song I like to crank up. Lindsay is a phenom guitarist.

Great Video and nice scores Tim! One point, as someone that loves Jazz, at least for Miles Davis, IMHO the MOFIs usually smoke the OGs. Same story with AP and the Prestige reissues. Just a thought, they’re usually superior (and Cheaper!!) to clean OGs. Of Course MMJ and the Tone Poets are great also!

Uh huh... Let me put it this way... When God was creating things, he was taking a break and Gabriel came up to him and said, 'Hey Boss, we got like about 175 more record stores, where do you think we should put them?' So, God looked at His watch and said, 'Well, it's about lunchtime, just dump them all in Colorado and we'll call it a day...'
