Hare Krishna Mataji🙏. First of all I wish to appreciate the efforts that you put in prasadam making and your love towards our dear Krishna. Eating with our 5 fingers not only improves our digestion but also helps to balance 7 chakras in our body. Its been scientifically proven that a person should eat by sitting on the floor, keeping the platter a little higher from ground and then eating your food with hands. 5 fingers also represents the 5 Tattvas of which our body is composed of with matters like earth, water, fire , air and ether. Basically in Indian Tradition cooking, serving and eating is like yagna karma. Therefore purity of food has direct impact on mind. Also the dishes you prepared looks really delicious. Pitalas are basically eaten with Bhakris in Maharashtra. If you wish to cook another new cuisine then 'Varna Phal' can be your next trial. Hari bol🙏🙏

It’s delightful to witness you enjoy your food 💚 Regarding your question - I eat with 5 fingers. Growing up, my mother said it’s considered “impolite” to eat with the index finger pointing out. Although, I don’t know if it applies to other families. Take care.

Jai Shree Krishna Jai Shree Ram Jai Shree Shankar Radhe Radhe I really admire your videos, to be honest I only watch KZfaq’s which is only God service related, like any mandir seva,( 4 mutts) and highly valued traditional built temple where all Siddha or saints or gnani wrote hymns or slokas in those temples or upanyasa Recently I have been blessed by Lors Krishna to watch and understand about him that’s I stared watching Nathdwara, Dwaraka temples videos or rituals Ofcourse ISKCON temples. But watching videos apart from the above lists where minimal however in your video I felt a sense of purity and devotional. I always wonder how come being living Switzerland, following Krishna consciousness great , and 2 days ago I got blessed by Subhala Das of ISKCON invited me to his class and GuruGaurand Das classes and got beautiful scriptures of our traditional ancient Highly worthy books Srimad Bhagwat Gita, indeed a mere blessings to follow Srimad Bhagavadgita and Ramayana What a blessing. For your question- any solid food we can use 3 fingers and for liquid foods it’s best to use 4 or 5 fingers this is what my understanding. Correct me if I’m wrong Mataji.

Hi Milaji!! I am so thrilled to see you cook pithala and kothimbir vadi.. ❤ Also I am extremely sorry for stating 2 chillis in the recipe, I should have added only 1. Sorry for burning your tongue 😮.. If you liked the taste, next time please add a split chilli in stead of chopping it down, and remove it after cooking is done. Another peculiarity of Marathi food is, even regular day to day dishes also do not ask for onion garlic tomato or potato in the recipe. I guess onion garlic is anyway not part of bhog-naivedya so we don't use them that much; and tomatoes potatoes were foreign to India until the western invasion. So all regional traditional recipes are naturally without these 2 items, though they are now extensively used in many dishes due to northen influence. I am thankful to you for trying out the pithala so promptly.. 🙏❤
@milasor1086 ай бұрын
Yes i will definitely put one chilli next time 😅😅 And what about eggplant ? Do you use it in Marathi food? And one more time Thank you very much for the Pithala recipe 🙏🏻🌹
@RTAV1086 ай бұрын
Yes! We have variety dishes of eggplant and aubergine .. the small ones are stuffed with home made masala of dried coconut, roasted groundnut powder, sesame seeds powder mixed with tamarind water.. And the big one is roasted directly on the flame snd its inner cooked part is mixed with regular tadka and chilli salt to have kind of a salad called bharata.. Will give you thise two recipes too.. Bharata is generally mixed with chopped onions, i will give onion version.. The stuffed brinjal is regular, ie without onion garlic, so you can have its authentic taste 😊

@@milasor108Sister , your question is whether we eat using all fingers of the hand . Yes , we use all five fingers , merge vegetables or salad into the rice or chapati , make a morsel with all 5 fingers and then put it in the mouth . If you are comfortable using 4 fingers and perform this process , you are welcome . 🙏❤️
@RTAV1086 ай бұрын
Yes, I will add to Atulji's reply, we eat with all 5 finger tips, in fact it is considered bad to omit index finger while eating. (daridri lakshan as they say) (Of course for japa mala and deva kaarya it is avoided, as it is reserved for tarpana and shraaddha vidhi). Five finger tips have gunas (qualities) of 5 fundamental elements, earth, water, fire, air and space; which when touch food, tranfer their respective guna to the food (sanskaara), that's why food is to be touched first before eating. Also the touch stimulates appetite and the sense of texture, temperature of the food acts as indicators to the digestive system, just like aroma does. If the food is consumed without first touching with hand, these important signals to the stomach are missed. As Ayurveda says, digestion does not start in the stomach but it starts with these signals of touch, aroma and salivation in the mouth. Food taken like this will save one from stomach troubles. Earlier there was rule not to speak while eating. Also you are supposed to chew with mouth closed, sitting on floor, bending forward as the food plate is supposed to be at the hight of your knees and not higher than that like today's table chair. The bend helps better digestion than just sitting upright while eating. We have seen our grandparents following this rule. My grandfather used to chew each bite 32 times, each time taking Shrirama's name internally. This was the tradition. Nowadays if we tell this to new generation, they won't even believe it :)

There is no way to know the complete truth about God unless God himself tells you clearly. Don't get stuck in the "spiritual zersetzeung" or you will keep questioning what is right and what is wrong forever. There is no scientific method to verify the truth when it comes to God. There is always a doubt. Not that it should be our problem.
