Fun fact: the first appearance of Harry Potter outside of the books was in an episode of The Simpsons which came out only a few days before the first movie. So Harry actually was in a cartoon before the movie

YES this is a series I would want to get into!! I would love to see more Harry Potter characters brought to life in this style, and I think Percy Jackson would also be a very fun series as well.

Idk if you would want to continue this, but it would be interesting to see the rest of the cast The Silver Trio (Ginny, Neville, Luna), the rest of the Weasleys, Draco and his goons, the rest of the House Heads (McGonagall, Flitwick, Sprout), the remaining Marauders, (Sirius, Lupin, Pettigrew), and Voldemort of course, with Bellatrix and Lucius Or maybe you could do other books as cartoons, like the Fellowship from Lord of the Rings

Fun fact. There was a comic book English boy wizard with dark hair and glasses, and an owl as a companion, who was supposed to be the most powerful wizard of all time. His name was Tim Hunter and he first appeared in 1990 in The Books of Magic comic series by Neil Gaiman. Seven years before Harry Potter was published.

The Weasleys, Voldemort's various forms and appearances, the Order of the Phoenix gang, the Death eaters, other students at hogwarts. I love these designs, I just thought that it would be cool to include more of the characteristics of each person in their design, for example snape, who is very closed up about his personal life and who never really lets his guard down at any moment, i kinda thought of a more slim appearance, in a tighter robe, almost like its uncomfortable for him to wear, but to keep this closed up and distant vibe from him (and maybe with a longer bottom part of the robe for that "bat" appearance) and dumbledore also, who is this humble, old character, yet there he stands with an open robe and showing his shoes and legs (i understand that that sounds weird, it just seems a little bit too lockhart-esque if you know what i mean) and with a very muscular silhouette, which kind of doesn't fit the old and calm dumbledore. But of course, that is just me giving feedback after doing nothing of the work, great designs, i love your art, this is just something i have noticed after having this first impression, love your videos :))

Maybe with more dark-side characters, and maybe other characters with more unique designs, like Moody, Lockhart, Lupin, Sirius, Pettigrew, Umbridge, etc. Anyways, this is SO amazing to see! To me it has more of a "Monkey island" point and click game vibe, then a Saturday morning cartoon, but we also didnt have as many cartoons showing here in Denmark so that might be why 😂 Do not mistake me! Monkey island, the first 3 games are amazing and fun and very expressive! So its not a bad thing! My saturday morning cartoons where a varity of Warnerbothers cartoons and later it would be Dragonball Z and Naruto, so i guess im more used to them being the old school hand drawn animations haha! I think this style of harry potter would be a fun series to explore was it a cartoon 😁👍

Now, the potterheads are going to point out little critiques in the designs, like the fact that Hagrid is supposed to have dustbin lid sized hands and feet the size of baby dolphins, or that Harry's eyes should be green. But those are entirely nitpicks. I absolutely love things being reimagined in a cartoony style, so when I saw this video upload, I jumped with joy. It wasn't the video any of us expected, but we all needed. Thank you Jazza!!

I love this and would love for it to be a series but I want MORE! An episode per book seems really limiting. What about having straight character design sessions for visually static/ multi book characters. Like the Malfoys, the phases of, and Teachers. Then books specific episodes where you show how to "age up" the existing cast of youths and designing newly introduced /book specific characters. Like the Wesleys, Remus in werewolf form, the Marauders, the death eaters. Thanks for the years of content!

Did you miss the point? Most of us grew up with Saturday morning cartoons. He loved his Saturday morning cartoons, he is taking something else he grew up with to make into modern cartoon style, hence the modern cartoon is Cartoon Network style. So the thumbnail was explained in the first few sentences. Nothing more nothing less. If it was not explained I would be on your side 100%.

Hi Jazza, I love your channel, and I admire you as a fellow artist. I have a question, though: Why do you keep this franchise alive ? I understand you might like it, and that's fine, but as an online creator who has taken a stance in the past (where you disagreed with your brother), you should know better than to uphold this harmful authors work. There are so many other beautiful franchises out there that uplift minority voices and celebrate diversity in a magical way. I'm saying all this with love and lots of respect towards you, and I hope to have made it clear that I am in no way trying to be disrespectful or hurtful towards you.

@@nathanmaynes739 separating the art from the artist is a theory of literary analysis, about how anyone reading a story can make their own interpretations of themes and meanings in the story, separate from the intent of the author. It is not a get out of jail free card to continue to read and watch the massively anti-semitic and racists works of a currently living holocaust denier, who spends massive amounts of money on making the lives of an extremely marginalized group much harder, stripping their rights completely, and vilifying them in the eyes of the public. By still reading the books and watching the movies, by still being a fan, by reading fan fiction, watching fan art, even if you've pirated them, you are still contributing to keeping the IP relevant, and actively playing in to JK Rowling's stated intention of seeing any and all enjoyment of her works as direct support of her views and actions. By choosing to put your nostalgia before the safety of millions of marginalized people, you are showing YOUR colors as a performative ally, or in the worst case, a class traitor. The only ethical way to interact with Harry Potter today, is to fiercely support transgender individuals, voice outrage against JK Rowling's views and actions, and to destroy any piece of Harry Potter merch or media you come across. This is a direct action of protest against an open fascist with ties and friendships with real nazis across the world. don't be an idiot

I love 2D animation and I loved the idea of this video. If it were up to me, 2D animation would be everywhere just like anime in Japan. So I got a couple of thoughts about this: first of all, the backgrounds. Backgrounds in cartoons used to look like a painting, a style that it's still used in many anime today. And second: the animation itself, the way the characters move. I think it has to do with the number of frames, which used to be fewer back in the day or something, but I really don't like how modern cartoons move so computerized. I think someone who's doing a great job at keeping the old style alive is former Disney animator, Aaron Blaise. He's currently working on a short film called "Snow Bear" and the teasers look stunning. Now, I know classic Disney style is more refined than TV cartoons used to be, but the way they make the animation fluid without making it look computerized is just magical. just any TV cartoon could've been looking like that by now if 3D hadn't taken over so aggressively the way it did.

i know you probably mean no harm, but it's really disheartening (as a trans person who's been subscribed for 8+ years) to see you uncritically promote harry potter right now. jkr has been using the money she's earned to fund anti-trans movements. she's spouting the most reprehensible views online to convince her massive audience that trans people are evil. i know harry potter was a big part of everyone's childhoods, but there comes a point where it's best to not openly celebrate it anymore.

I was just coming to say this as a cis person who found Jazza through his thoughtful use of Ojibwe/Aashinabe culture in his design for his Space Bears, it's kind of disappointing to see no mention of this issue, especially given how the author of these books is now dipping into Holocaust revisionism in her desire to hurt trans people. This isn't something where the artist is long dead or is in obscurity, Rowling is out here right now! Actively using "people love Harry Potter" as an argument that she is correct to hurt people.

Can we please stop giving attention to Harry Potter, the author is a open transphobe that’s actively supporting trans peoples rights being taken away in the uk, on top of that she considers any support of her books as support of her beliefs, it’s really disappointing to see people giving her books any sort of acknowledgment after how she’s been acting as of late

Always look forward to watching your videos. ❤ An interesting and kind of fun game I play with myself while sketching is taking book descriptions of characters or monsters, designing what I think it looks like then comparing that to an Ai generated image from the same prompt I drew from. It’s so interesting to me to see what features or characteristics the Ai focuses on versus my interpretation. I think it would make a fun video if you ever wanted to try it out. ☺️

I thoroughly enjoyed this as I have the rest of your character creation videos. I particularly enjoyed the process by which you breathe life into these characters, you bring such energy and enthusiasm to these videos. As a fan of these types of videos it always astounds me and inspires me to create my own characters. I wanted to just comment and tell you that I would very much enjoy seeing more of these types of vides. Maybe you could redesign video game characters into cartoons and such? Looking forward to what you have planned next.

Yeah just draw everyone, it's so cool to see them in this style and I'm absolutely loving it. Next up, I'd say Draco Malfoy, Crabbe & Goyle, Minerva McGonagall, Fred & George, and Neville Longbottom. Oh, and then there's Quirrell (+ a bonus Dark Lord), Fluffy, Hedwig and Scabbers!
